One Day Employment (Thanks Jerry)
So, after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day....
About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'
The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'Heck no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the heck would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or stupid?'
So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'
My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.

ReplyDeletebob says the hippos sounds more like a dirt bike than a chain saw, and we both are rolling on the floor laughing at the Walmart Greeter, that is something my hubby would say and we often joke about how he could not be a greeter.

ReplyDeleteThe job in Walmart ? I am sure that your are a fine associate / greeter. Sometimes we end up thinking loudly and the consequences are inevitable. If your ER had a little sense of humor, you would have been an asset. Am I right?

I beat you by four with a 21. Guessed at four and missed two of those. I could swear (I won't, I don't swear) that our merry-go-round goes clockwise but it doesn't. [see KP's Fun at the Woodlands Mall.] I thought that your author of the quiz must have been from the Sourhtern Hemisphere or a lefty. Ha, LOL!

p.s. I am going to steal this one but not for today. I'm laying low and doing some house work. Also have to find a rehab place that does good on repaired compressed T-12 discs.

ReplyDeleteLoved the hippo pooping! Never saw that before. I took the test and got a 16, one less than you. It was fun. The Walmart joke was funny, I think it would be very hard to be a greeter. It isn't just the people, you have to stand there for so long.

The hippo - disgusting. I also saw that in real life once. Yes, it does sound like that. Still disgusting.
ReplyDeleteI also got 17 out of 25. But I am embarrassed at the ones I got wrong. For instance, the whole traffic light thing. I guessed wrong on where the green light is - might explain a lot of those red lights that I seem tempted to run!
The hand shadow thing was awesome. I loved the singing bunny.
