Saturday - Some Public Service Information

Good Morning - here are some good tips for the day:

Even need to remove old wax from a glass candle holder? Put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then take the candle holder out and turn it upside down. The wax will fall out.

Water Before Bedtime

About 90% of heart attacks occur early in the morning and it can be minimized if one takes a glass or two of water NOT beer before retiring in the evening.

Drinking water at the correct time
Maximizes its effectiveness on the Human body :

1 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

Thank you Angela

Talking about being micromanaged - this school checks every lunch to see if it is healthy - the ones the parents pack. Now my grandson has eating issues - I would be in trouble every single day. He never eats a sandwich - try to make lunches for six years! lol

Am I the only one getting two words for word verification on others blogs - one is easy the other one is practically impossible? Is that a new change? It's really hard to read. Sorry, but it is true.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Thanks Kelly

Interesting post today my friend. Never thought about that with water, thank you for sharing that. That's why I don't use word verification on my blog. some words are hard read. Have a lovely day!

    Big hugs

  2. The word verification is getting seriously annoying. I am tempted not to comment any longer on blogs that use it.
The tips on water were very interesting - all good ones!
Now...the article on the school lunch. Can that possibly be true? If so, the US is in trouble, as that is not the sort of thing I'd ever have expected in your beautiful, independent country. The Nanny State is not how I think of the USA!

  3. the water drinking is very interesting. had not heard some of those things.

and yes, keep spreading the anti-word verification message!!!

  4. That new format of word verification is making me crazy - I always end up with at least two attempts.

Good tips on the water. My grandmother used to drink a glass of lemon water every night before going to bed.

And I love that wax on the candleholder tip - I am trying that today.

  13. Well the water drinking does make one think..
A wonderful post to read xx

  14. I'll start with the word verification! If I can't read the words then I can't comment! I haven't been able to comment on a few so far and it's not my fault!

It is bad enough to have to send in a healthy snack for 1st grade snack which is considered a health grade but to have to make sure your lunch is completely healthy too is crazy! I understand the snack. The lunch should be healthy but that should be up to the parent to decide that one. So what if it's my kids birthday or a holiday and I want to send them a cupcake or some chocolate for a treat! I do try to be considered of the school and teachers by not doing that that much at all with my son because he would be bouncing off the walls and they wouldn't like that! lol

    Hugs,
    Angela

  18. totally crazy about the school lunch thing.
I hate the new word verification. I have a post scheduled for tomorrow about it.

  19. My 42 year old son is living proof that a child can survive on bologna, cheese and milk for most of their childhood. I probably would have just given him lunch money and let the school worry about it.

I've given up leaving comments on a couple of blogs after many attempts with the word verification. I think they've changed it and the blog owners might not even know. It used to be a little easier. I wish there was a way to know ahead of time because I'd rather not be bothered with it. I type a nice long comment and then I can't get it through.

  23. Hi Sandie. Yeah, the word verification is a pain. I usually have to do it two or three times!

Interesting about the water but if I drank it before bed, I know exactly what'd happen..up and adam all through the night!

Take care and have a super Sunday! Susan

  28. Word verification is a nuisance!!! Water info I abide by ... I could float a rock.

Really ticked both of us off about this lunch situation re children. How dare the government or anyone interfere ... big brother needs to mind his own business.

Preparing for a touch o'winter tomorrow.
    YAY!!!

    Have a lovely eve ~

  29. Your water tips are being passed to all my children.
What are we coming to when a parent can't even take into consideration the needs and like of their own children when it comes to eating. How dare them give a child chicken nuggets. I know what is in a chicken nugget. My grandchildren are not allowed to eat chicken nuggets.

  33. Interesting about the water. Problem is: if I drink water before I go to bed I'm up going to the bathroom all night. and lack of sleep also causes health problems!!!!!

  34. One glass of water before going to bed = 4 trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Sigh.

  35. A big glass of water when a person is dehydrated and their Blood Pressure is dropping, will bring it back to normal.

Do NOT like the two word verification, either.

  38. Are you positive beer doesn't count? lol Lots of good information here Chatty. Thank you! I am highly frustrated with the word verification. I don't think some bloggers know it is there.

  45. Thanks for the tip about water before bedtime. I'll pass that to my husband too. He has that inherited bad heart gene even though he's Mr. Thin and Healthy. His dad died in his sleep of a heart attack.

And I saw the story about the lunch on the news. Just exactly WHO does this teacher/school think they are?

Yeah, I know... God. (Rolling my eyes now.)
