Tuesday Tails

This is about finding and adopting a blind dog - get your tissues ready - takes only two minutes,

http://www.godvine.com/Blind-Dog-Living-in-a-Trash-Pile-Gets-Rescued-1290.html
 Thank you Kelly.

We  got our dog Disco from a rescure agency who had put him on the street.  He is the sweetest dog ever - I will never understand how any one can do that to a pup!  I know a lot of you have resure animals and even if you didn't get a rescued dog or cat - I still think taking in a pet - helps not only them, but us too!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY -

PS - My daughter went back to school this week - she's a teacher.  And I have my grandson full time. So if I get behind in answering your comments please understand.  Thanks.

An amazing turn around for that sweet little dog.

Hehehe....LOVE the squirrel...and the sweet little Corgi. I can't imagine life without critters in it. It wouldn't be the same.

Very cute pictures. :-) Our sweet (and now blind) Misty is from an animal shelter. We came to live with us in 2002 and help us keep track of Bridger. She's half his size but has the upper hand in that relationship. :-)

I know that squirrel; he lives in my yard. He swings on all our feeders and hides all his nuts in my flower pots.

I KNOW that squirrel too. LOL He gets around. HUNGRY little fella isn't he? Glad the dog was rescued. I donate to The Rolling Dog Farm every Christmas. They aid hundreds of disabled animals.

My young friend Kathleen is handicapped from a tragic accident and has a rescue dog who is entirely devoted to her. My sisters and I visited her Sunday and Dixie never left her side. Such spirit - from both of them.

Sorry to have been away from blogging the last few days - I was in the wilderness of northern Florida where there was no AT&T data service.

They are starting school earlier and earlier every year around here too. I don't like it one bit and neither do the kids.

Two was a pup along with 8 others that someone dropped off on the side of the road near my house. I took her in 12 years ago. A rescue group came and got the others.

You know it. I always have a great time with my grands! They make my life complete.

I loved the doggie leap. My doggie would be attacking the left over roll. She chews them like bones.

That made for a cute squirrel picture, but I hate when they are on my screens. They got into a friend's home while they were on vacation and destroyed the living room.

Love the squirrel! You weren't kidding about needing kleenex! That video made me cry from sadness and happiness! I LOVE people who make time and care enough to help any helpless animal! You know these people have kind hearts. Wonderful post Sandie!

my niece adopted a blind dog - she was a puppy mill rescue who had to have her eyes removed due to severe infection/swelling. my niece gives her a wonderful life full of care and love and experiences most wouldn't even dare to try w/ a blind dog.

Okay, you done it, brought tears. Yep a great story of love. Fiona; that is so sweet. I am convinced it is not the price, pedigree, size or shape that makes a pet, it is the love. I remember reading someone saying, A dog is wonderful. You can say the dumbest things, and they will look at you like you are brilliant, boosting YOUR self esteem.

I have no problem with spending xx$ for a pet, but you will love from a pound just as much and they will love you back with the same enthusiasm.
Great entry. (I love the squirrel!)

Also love the Corgi; raising the bar!!!

I meant to say, the captions on the short video were great for me!

I have a squirrel like yours... when the bird feeder is empty, he just spreads himself across the top and stares into the kitchen window. He knows I'll give in eventually and fill the feeder.

I also have a rescue dog and a rescue cat too. They are the best animals. So appreciative and loyal. I guess the have learned from hard times, and understand rejection. They seem grateful for their new lives and a loving home. And my life is richer everyday because of them.

What a sweet pup Fiona is!! So glad she has found a forever home..and to be able to see again is amazing!

Thank you for your sweet condolences about Baylee. In my heart I know I did the right thing, but it doesn't mean it hurts any less.

Have a great day!

Our last three dogs have also been rescues. I can't bear to think how some people mistreat animals.

3 of my dogs in the past were adopted from shelters. They were all very loving and made great companions for me. It's sad how there are so many of them. Visiting a shelter is an eye opener in its self. They all just look at you and say take me home. Have fun with your grandson. I've my my youngest here today and he is sound asleep in his swing.

I think the squirrel has a relative living in my front yard. ;-)

I used to be able to keep up with when school begins. Not any more. What with no kids in our household and my son who is a college professor teaches year 'round.

Your Disco is adorable. Yep, our two cats are 'gotcha' adoptees. And I wouldn't take any other kind. We make sure we get the older ones who tend to be left behind by those who want young pets.

That squirrel and caption is too good for words added here in my comment!!

Hi Sandie,

The squirrel is so funny!

xo,

Suzan said...

Ohh my gosh!!
Yes - Made me cry and I'm still choked up about the pooch!! How can people do that!! What compounds it - is that if a person will do that to a dog or cat - they are very likely to also treat their children and adults around them with the same appathy!

Unknown said...

it amazes me how forgiving animals can be. treated bad and most the time will accept a new family's love

Dee said...

couldn't watch the video even knowing it has a good ending. The squirrel still has me smiling....My kitty's Lucy and Ethyl are rescued...we have had them 11 years and I adore them.

I LOVE the folks at GodVine who gather and publish these videos! While I'd seen this before on FB, I still watched ... and still wept.
There must be a special place in Heaven for those Good Samaritan rescuers!

Rescue animals are the best. Our Cujo came from a rescue and she is just the most darling mess of a beast. Love her tremendously.

The video was so hearbreaking, Sanie! That poor defenseless dog abandoned like that. How fortunate that she was rescued!

My daughter and son-in-law just rescued a dog from a shelter...a sweet terrier named Lucy.

Enjoy watching your grandson!

Oh Sandie, that squirrel alert was hilarious. So true, too!

And the video? Great. How wonderful there are people like that in the world, to help animals. Gives ya hope, ya know? Susan

I like the sweet photos of the squirrel and the dog!
I'm presently caring for ten stray cats (four of them are kittens) until I can find them good homes.
I would adopt them myself, but I already have my own cats who don't take too kindly to strangers.

SquirrelQueen said...

Thanks for the laugh when I scrolled down and saw the squirrel.

You've been following my blog awhile Sandie so you probably know I am all for adopting rescues. All of my cats were strays that we took in. I also volunteer with a group that offers low cost spay/neuters for cats.

My family adopted three dogs. Samantha came from the SPCA and was the sweetest black lab ever, Patches was an Australian Shepard we adopted from a family who honestly did not take very good care of her (My mother spent HOURS washing and brushing her fur that first night), and Buddy was another dog we adopted from another family who couldn't care for him anymore. He was very well taken care of though.
