Wednesday Hump Day

There are no ugly women--just fixer uppers…

Look carefully, they're in the same order.
Their makeover pictures are below their regular pictures.
It's just amazing what money can do.
This photo below was taken at a competition in June 2008 involving 9 women for best makeover.
They had every possible beauty treatment available to them over a period of 12 hours before the contest.
Look at the before and after photos.
Conclusion - there are no ugly women only poor women.

The woman 2nd from the left won the contest.

I do not know if this is true or not but it is something to THINK about!
Would you do it?  I think I would just for the fun of it.
And now something else for hump day to get you through:

Just in case you are feeling down on these
90+ degree days...
With humidity!

THINK OUT OF THE BOX SOMETIMES!

The makeovers are interesting and fun to see. I can hardly sit through an hour and a half of getting my hair done.....I can't imagine 12 hours.

Love those makeover pics!

I love to watch What not to Wear and How Do I look, both are makeover shows. and they do work miracles with them, even overweight ones like me. but they never show seniors, it is always 45 and under. your side bar is over your post so it is hard to view.

Hi Sandie,
If I was 20 years younger I would hve had it done.. I like what you wrote.. there are no ugly women.. so true..
You say there are a lot of poor women.. but i think..when a woman has an open heart and her home is open and she offers you even a glass of water..she is not poor..she is rich...
I love the makeovers.. I think its good.. it makes us feel more confident when we look good.
thanks for sharing..
happy wednesday

Take me there!!! I'll volunteer.

The snowman was a refreshing start for the day. Brings back a lot of memories. Good and bad.

Suddenly heat and humidity are lookin' good.

I'm not kidding when I say I love the "before" pictures more than the "after". Look at those individuals with beautiful smiles and personalities that show. Then look at the cut-out paper dolls that basically all look alike.

I was ok with that video ... until it got to the icy parts. I LOVE snow (not ice), so that isn't going to cause me to appreciate this heat and humidity.

Miss Debbie said...

Ummm...interesting makeovers. IDK if I'm up for that or not. I don't even like pedicures! :-)

Oh the snow scenes...yay for summer..Hooray for summmer. Those poor people. Happy day back to you Sandie..love you post.

Love this post Chatty and the video produced cool laughter.

I'd much rather turn my AC on than to fight those kind of road conditions. As long as everyone checks on people who may not have AC, I'm good with warmer weather. Although, I hate to see what it will do to food prices.

Wow...what changes.

One thing about the before pictures is they always have the women not wear their make up or fix their hair which is why it makes them look so good when they do their hair and makeup!

Cranberry Morning said...

Hmmm. Another thing to be learned from this is that the judges like cleavage better than T-shirts. :-)

The transformations are awesome! You bet I would have it done, just for fun! And......I cannot wait to experiance a beautiful snowstorm again! I sooooo miss that!

I will not complain about the heat and humidity again this summer! That video was a great reminder of what is to come!!!

Makeover? I'm there!

The Boston Lady said...

Yes! I would do it! I cannot imagine what I would look like as I rarely wear makeup, fancy dress, heels and accessories. It would be fun to see what some hair extensions, false eyelashes and shapewear could do for me! Ann

At this point in my life, I think I'm beyond a makeover. Amazingly enough we have rain on the way here and they say Friday and Saturday we'll see highs in the low 70's. It will feel good after being so hot. I'll probably need a jacket though. Hope your Wednesday is a wonderful one!

Dear Chatty - I love you!

The icy snowman was tickling my funnybone too much. I love those montauges that have classic Sinatra singing the ironic words.!!! I love it!!!

At 0:39 is from a scene here in Bountiful, Utah last winter that went viral on You Tube. I wasn't there but many Utahans were scattering it around on Facebook the day it happened.

The makeover gal in the middle (5th) seems the most improved to me. Can you believe those transformation. Remember anything is possible....?

I am glad you like caramel on vanilla ice cream - wonderful summer treat!

Love to you this fine summer day,
Renae

Make overs are great for a person't ego, I think. BUT there is something about being YOURSELF and liking it.

Loved the COLD pictures. I never see that anymore (Unless called for an emergency) We follow the sun, fortunately. We also love following spring as it travels North.

Wow that's some major overhaulin' there. Looking forward to a cooler weekend- hope you have a good one too!

I don't know about the entire makeover but would love to have hair done. I am not one for makeup so would just like to be able to keep skin looking good. So far it is not too shabby. Like the snowman. We could use one today.
take care lovely lady.
Love you.

Oh yes! I learned to think outside of the box a long time ago, Sandie (while working at "the bank"!!) I am anxiously awaiting the end of summer!!!...:)JP

It's amazing what money can do. They all looked stunning!

Cheri said...

I would LOVE to do a make over and see what they would come up with. Those ladies are nothing like their top photos and if I had that drastic of a change I would like to see if my hubby hit on me and really knew it was me. LOL

Gotta say, sitting here safely inside my home, that video cracked me up! I remember an ice storm when the boys were little I said "let's all hold hands and we'll be ok"... needless to say all three of us went down:@)

That's so true about those makeovers. I like to color outside the lines, too. I think everyone should now and then.

Hey..I am wondering if they took the pretty girls and made them plain....also love the video..been there and done that with a few of the slip and slides...my favorite was the semi going under the overpass. LOl

Jo-Anne's Ramblings said...

Damn that is awesome so I guess you are right only poor women are ugly women......that said as my husband said to me on one of our first dates "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and in his eyes I was stunning and lets be honest I am not a stunning beautiful woman.....lol

Thanks, Sandie, for the reminder that this heat isn't so bad after all!! I was actually just thinking about winter today and telling myself that it could be worse!!

As for the makeovers, they are all so wonderful. I'd have one done if I were younger. Don't think there's much that could be done now! LOL!!

Holy moley! Those makeovers were fabulous. I'd LOVE to have somebody make me look glam.

Oh, Sandie girl, did you HAVE to remind me what is ahead this winter? I HATE driving on ice. Snow I can take. Ice? uh uh No way. I stay home, snuggled up by the fireplace. Susan p.s. Thanks for all your visits and comments to my beloved blog. You are a faithful follower.

i doubt id look as good as them all glamed up, but i have low self esteem too. but i agree there is beauty in any woman, but beauty can bring the worst out in people sometimes. or maybe it was just at my high school the pretty girls where bitches most the time.

LL Cool Joe said...

I prefer the women before the make overs. I'm not a fan of this kind of thing. I prefer natural beauty myself. :)

SquirrelQueen said...

The make overs are amazing but I think all of the women were beautiful before. Our society is a little hung up on glamor.

Love the snowman link. One of those shots looks like a news clip I remember from when we lived in Portland, OR. I'm good at driving on ice and snow but I don't go out the first snow of the year because that is what happens, people forget how to drive.
