Wednesday - Hump Day

Photobucket
Hello! Good morning and happy hump day!

  Mid-Life!
This is a joke - not mine!)

Whether you are pushing 40, 50,  60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably  relate.  Not only women - men too.

Photobucket

1.Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down.  This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired  mustache. Or out the nose or on the ear.

2.Mid-life is when you  look at your know-it-all, cell phone carrying teenager and think,  'For this I have stretch marks?'
PhotobucketPhotobucket

3.In mid-life your  memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is  water.
Photobucket

4.Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By  Rand McNally--more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map  of Wisconsin .

Photobucket

5.Mid-life means that you become more  reflective. You start pondering the 'big' questions. What is life?  Why am I here? How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before  it's no longer a healthy choice?
Photobucket

But mid-life also brings  with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that  breasts sag, hips expand, and chins double, but our loved ones make  the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that  you have now, for the body you had way back when?

Maybe our bodies  simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've  acquired. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to  it!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

 OR GRANDPA TOO!

My grandson school sent this out.  They are trying to win money from Target.  If you would you click on the Target site.  Go to where it says zipcode and put in 30144.  Shiloh Hills Christian School pops up.  Then if you would vote for it - I would appreciate it.  And if not - that is okay too! lol
 THANK YOU!

Target is giving up to $2.5 million in support to schools through Give With Target®.
You can help Shiloh be a part of this wonderful offer.  Just go to https://givewith.target.com/ and choose Shiloh Hills Christian School in the list of eligible schools and vote weekly for Shiloh through September 8th or when $2.5 million in Target Gift Cards® have been awarded, whichever occurs first. Shiloh will receive a $25 Target Gift Card for every 25 votes received during the Promotion Period; up to a maximum of $10,000 in gift cards. For example, if Shiloh receives less than 25 votes, we will not receive any gift cards.  If we receive 25-49 votes, we’ll receive a $25 Target Gift Card.  If we receive 50-74 votes, we’ll receive $50 in gift cards.
There’s NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Voting ends on 9/8/12 at 11:59:59 p.m. CT or when $2.5 million in Target Gift Cards have been awarded, whichever occurs first. Maximum of $10,000 in gift cards will be awarded per school. Voting is limited to legal residents of the 50 US/DC, 13 years of age and older. Limit one vote per person per week. Subject to full Terms and Conditions.

i am pushing 70 and the hairs still grow as fast as always but only on the front. the back is hairless. i thought it was because of wearing long pants, but not true because after 6 months of no long pants still does it. hope Shiloh wins

Hair-larious!!! I have already put my Dear Heart on notice that if I am ever unable, he is to pluck every ugly hair off my chinny-chin-chin. I love the Grandma poem. So sweet.

Laughing about aging is what keeps us young and you have helped us with that here.

Hi Sandie, Your post today has me smiling and smiling some more. How refreshing! Thank you. I wanted to touch base with you about Google + also. I am a member but do not want to start circles of friends...it seems to daunting to me. I put the button on my blog and took it back off. but.....I put you in my blogger reader by going to my dashboard and adding you to my reading list. Now you will show up in my google reader on the ipad. Could you do that to access my blog? I hope you have a wonderful day...Maggie Kat

I like the grandma poem. I was thinking just the other day how parents are in a hurry and hold their small childs hand the parent is walking so fast the poor child has to run in order not to be dragged.
I voted for Shiloh Hills Christian School. Have a great day.

How much Healthy Choice before it stops being a healthy choice? Like with Tootsie Pops, I don't know. I guess we'll have to ask Mr. Owl.

Sally Wessely said...

Very cute. Middle age, what can I say? It truly isn't for sissies.

Miss Debbie said...

I tried to vote...then they ask me to log into facebook, I'm not on facebook so I don't know if the vote counted or not! Hope they get a prize. Our children attended a Christian school, so I know they can always use extra monies.

I will definitely vote for your school. That is a great thing for Target to do. My legs are like a map - I like that analogy!

As we age we certainly do ponder many things. How much Healthy Choice ice cream is quite a dilemma.

I believe children enjoy grandparents as we don't demand..Yes its nice being a grandmother..
As for how we change as we age...YES! and the other day I found a hair on my lip?? then I realised it was growing there. I have told my daughter that when I get too old to see hairs on my chin, to please take them out for me. She said, don't worry mum, I'll look after you." now that made me feel better. xxxxxxxxxxx

Good old Target. Comes into Canada, and removes all the employes at the Zeller's stores. Target says it will hire about 150 to 200 employees for each of its Canadian stores, when they are ready to open.

What about the people who were laid off? Target promises to give them interviews. If they're hired, they'll likely be getting a lot less than what they were making.

Target, creating unemployment in Canada.

Oh no, it said the voting was closed!

I might give up some of that knowledge for the body I had a decade ago. Who needs smarts, I am blonde you know! LOL!

And now it's the day after Hump Day - come on Saturday! :)

And the focus group on paper towels I was talking about on my blog? Jackson and Associates. Go on their website and register - they call you for various studies to see if you qualify. I also do Shlesinger, but haven't heard from them lately. Also Murray Hill.

I think I'm past the mid life stage..no matter I wouldn't trade who I am now for all the years that have led up to this point for sure.
