New Year's Eve

THINKING AS THE YEAR DRAWS TO A CLOSE . . . You think about the old year . . .

and you can't help but think of victims of Connecticut. I don't think we will ever forget.

I'm still doing my 26 Random Acts of Kindness.

But a lot of good things happened this year too.  Don't forget them too.  Remember the policeman who stopped and bought a homeless man a pair of shoes?  He actually got down on his knees and put the shoes on the man.

These are the things we should remember.

My friend Sandra aka Madsnapper and I always say we want to see a real flash mob.  We decided we wished we had seen this one that she sent to me.  And let me tell you - YES IT'S A FLASH MOB SCENE - but it's done ITALIAN STYLE - and it's A W E S O M E !  Starts slow, but wait until the end.

This just brought me such joy and ended my year on a positive note!

So I hope you'll have a safe New Year's Eve.  We're just staying in - building a fire - and hoping we can stay up and watch the ball drop!

What are you doing tonight?  Are you going out or staying in?  Do you remember a GOOD incident from 2012?

Hope you have a great evening together Sandie and make it to midnight :)

Two good incidents from 2012:

our church built a new house for a family in Mexico that lived under tarp

our church (with the help of the community) provided gifts for 5000 kids in Mexico who wouldn't have gotten anything for Christmas

there is still good in the world; we just need to continue to be aware of it and do our part to make the world good in our acts of kindness indeed!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Sandie! We will be home and snuggled up watching a movie and the ball drop (if we can stay awake that long also). It's been a hard year for me but I'm looking forward to 2013~

Hi Sandie....Staying in here, too. Going to have a delicious seafood dinner at 5 p.m. and then, relax and enjoy the fire in the fireplace.

Oh, there were so many good things that happened in 2012. For me, the best, of course, was becoming a Grammie for the very first time. My beautiful little granddaughter was born in September. She is an unending source of joy in my life!

Thanks for your blog and for all the light you shed in the world! Susan

In we stay! "Bubbly" and an old film on dvd, and some *naughty* goodies to munch on. And listen to scanner, for what the poor Police have to deal with, later this Eve.

Happy New Year's Eve to you, my Dear Blogging Friend!

That's probably as close as I am going to get to an Italian flash mob scene.....but wasn't it fabulous! Thank you and thanks to Sandra (madsnapper)!

Let's keep those poor families from Sandy Hook in our prayers. I feel so heartbroken for them.

I think that's one of the best flash mobs ever. Ever!
2012 was mainly good for us. Despite some severe challenges, my husband continues to strengthen - we're going out for New Year's eve! My daughter married in May - that was pretty wonderful too. All in all, yes, there was lots of good in 2012.
