DRINKING WATER
For older and younger people - -read this information. Important.
I always drink a glass of water before going to bed. Maybe that is why my heart starts pumping again. How many folks do you know who say they don't want to drink anything before going to bed because they'll have to get up during the night!! Heart Attack and Water I never knew all of this ! Heart Attack and Water Something else I didn't know ... I asked my Doctor why do people need to urinate so muchat night time. Answer from my Cardiac Doctor = Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body(legs and etc) seeks level with the kidneys it is then that the kidneys remove the waterbecause it is easier. This then ties in with the last statement! I knew you need your minimum water to help flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to me. Correct time to drink water... Very Important. From A Cardiac Specialist! Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body: 2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion 1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure 1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack My Physician told me that water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps.. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse Thank you Jean at The Joy of Bird Watching Disclaimer - I do not know if it is true or not - but I don't think drinking water will hurt you.) |

There certainly are a lot of benefits to drinking water. I most always take some along to bed with me as I read before going to sleep every night. Now I'm glad I do. I rarely have leg cramps and thought it was due to the bananas I eat every day but maybe it's the water. Hope your Saturday is a super one!
I believe in drinking lots of water even if I do get up during the night! :)
hugs, Linda
Who cares about the so-called validity of the heart attack/water theory .... GREAT message, I'm going to put in practice and share with family and friends.
Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend!
that video with the men and breast cancer had me cracking up! I needed that! Water info will cause me to make some changes. Thanks! Many blessings!
I loved the video...it's a great reminder for us women. Thank you for the reminder :) I tend to forget to drink enough water, and having a bottle at my desk every day. It's good for so many things.
Enjoy your day my friend, getting ready for a Xmas party this evening with my work colleagues.
Big hugs,
Eva
Oh Sandie, that was a super post. LOVE LOVE LOVED the guys breast cancer check video. Zow-eee. If my doctor ever started uh, well, dancing in his unders, I don't what I'd do! ha hahahhahaha
You find the darndest things! Such good information, too, said with a smile. Susan
i drink hot green tea w/ lots of fresh-squeezed lemon juice (to help the digestive system), then chase it down with lots of cold water before bed. yes, i end up having to get up, but i know my body is ridding itself of all sorts of toxins. :)
Love the stress management piece- have to share that! Thanks for the smiles today!
After the video I was having a hard time focusing! LOL
I do try to drink a lot of water. I did know about drinking water when you first get up for your organs, but didn't realize the other times. I think I should write this down. :) Thank you, Sandie!
I need to drink more water. I just hate it.
Love your new holiday look on your blog.
Love the Santa!
Good entry, I am going to try to remember the water thing.
I am not letting Sherry watch the video until I get my stomach down and look like those guys with a flat belly. LOL
Very good entry. Thanks.
Hugs from Wildwood!!!
Interesting information about when to drink water. Never heard that one before. Also it is a good idea to try to calm down this time of year. Good info all around.
I enjoy your blog so much. It is often the breath of fresh air I need on any given day.
I read that going to the bathroom to empty one's bladder four to six times a day is normal. That's about my hourly rate.
Hi Sandie, I love your Christmas messages/thoughts for us... Great idea!!!!
I especially like the one about water... I didn't know about drinking water before bedtime.. BUT--I always drink a glass of water when I get up each morning --and drink alot off and on all day. It keeps me 'regular'....
Thanks.
Hugs,
Betsy
OK, that man reminder video has me cracking up! I especially appreciated it as I have my mammogram in a few weeks. Do you think one of those guys could be the tech??? I especially appreciated the *surprise* ending - with the doctor ALSO "baring" it for the cause!
You are a riot, Sandie.
xo
About that video, I have a thought... find a hunk to check your breasts FOR YOU! Okay, it was just a thought, I'm over it now.
I found a hunk on my cruise but he's off to Sidney, Australia where he lives. I appreciate the water advice. Now if I can just get my older neighbor to use it. I already drink water at night - too many pills to keep my migraines away. Nice to meet you.
Good water info.
That is really good to know about the water..thanks for sharing.
Those Christmas dogs are just so cute!
I hope you are having a lovely weekend x
Magie
Love your post, Cathy! You always make me smile. You can not over do Christmas.
I like your chatty style of celebrating.
I like it!
Hope you had a terrific first week of December!

Loved all of this mate. From the handsome bloke giving breast examination examples to the water message. Often when I visited an older patient their B.P. would be very low. I would stand over them and make them drink a glass of water. After completing other assessments on them, I retook their B.P. and showed them how it came back to normal...People think drinking water can't help them as much as it does.. It cost nothing, is available everywhere and yet they evade it??? Good on you for helping to get the message out there.. xxx Much love sent xxx
You come up with the neatest info Sandie- thanks!
Yep...You got a smile from me!!
Thank you!!
Hugs,
J.
Always good to drink water unless one is on a water restricted diet. All great advice given here Sandie!
betty
Love that photo with the Christmas lights wrapped around the pooches. I tried that once with Augie and he would have it :-{{. It such a neat looking shot.
Guess I need to be drinking more water!! Thanks much for the info.
A really nice entry, hon. I drink a lot of water, always have, just never knew it helped to drink it at certain times, especially before bed. good to know.
I LOVELOVELOVE the water info!!!!
Hi Sandie! I did not know that about water, whether it's fact or not I would say it sounds like a very good idea, especially the before bedtime, my hubby gets bad leg cramps so I will suggest to him to drink water before bedtime!
Thank you so much for stopping by, I love your blog even thought I don't comment every day, I do read and enjoy..thanks for your kind friendship:)
Barb

Hello Sandie,
It looks like you are enjoying the Christmas season! It is my favorite holiday, and I am lovin' it as well. Have a nice Sunday.

You're looking very festive over here Sandie! Such a good idea that you have come up with and I'm sure we will all enjoy getting in the mood with you.
The breast cancer thing was so funny. I laughed out loud and my hubby came to watch with me. Great info included, especially about the water!
Always full of important facts. I keep trying to tell my dad about the water, my brother too and they both hate getting up to pee. Well I would rather get up than be dead!
I like your survival tips, Sandie. The water drinking is great. My doctor said for me to only drink four glasses of water a day including meals.
He said I was leaching out my minerals and ions and red cells. I stopped, almost, drinking cafine drinks instead and the numbers went up.
..
The whole section about water was really interesting! I hate getting leg cramps. Oh, by the way, to the lady who thought eating bananas gave her leg cramps - not so. You need the potassium. It helps prevent leg cramps.
Thank you for another very honorable mention!
