A first-grade school teacher had
twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the
first half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder
of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders.
Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are
first-graders, six-year-olds, because the last one is a
classic!

That first one is going to make the rounds!
Ha, I like if you lie down with dogs you'll stink in the morning.
i could finish every single one of those old quotes except for one about happy is the bride,
Cry and you have to blow your nose -- how true.
What great endings to those Proverbs by the children!! I guess they just don't learn Proverbs any more, unlike when we were young. I used to know loads of them. There is always brightness to be found here on your Blog my friend.;
So that's why machine coffee is always nasty! lol Love what the children wrote!!!
LOL with the coffee machine. I was hoping for a good cup of cappucino :)
I love those sayings from the young kids; some were so priceless!!
and those Christmas shoes, too funny!!

Don't change horses until they stop running. Sounds like good advice to me!
Great Friday pick-me-ups! Loved the one by the kids~
I love the way kids tell it like it is....or at least are very honest about how they see it.

Liked your Friday stuff, Sandie. The six-year-olds were precious. One told about daylight savings time in a new way, that was my favorit. The coffee machine worked good too except that my cup was still empty.
Have a nice weekend,

That was funny, Sandie. The monkey inside the coffee machine cracked me up. You sure find some doozies. Susan
You have some really good ones today, that first one was hysterical.
I think the kids did a good job of finishing some of those sayings :)
The shoes? Might be kind of fun but I would kill myself wearing them....lol
hahahaha, Nope my dear. My daughters are 5'9" so next time I should take a pic with them standing next to me. Ya see, I look up to my daughters [literally].

Your blog entries are always great but this one outdid it's self. I especially liked the monkey cartoon and the coffee machine. Thank you for the fun.
Those 26 proverbs are a delight. Children are so much fun! I enjoyed your post..you are a great smile-maker.
"An idle mind - is the way to relax" - I got that one covered! Happy New Year, Sandie!

Has Daffy Duck ever been wrong?
Okay, I'm worried if a first grader gave pregnant as the last one!! These are hilarious though!! blessings ~ tanna
Once again, I can't pick a favorite from your Friday funnies. I am off to share them with some friends now.
Thanks!
Great wisdom. Thanks for your cheerful sharing.
Hahaha! The coffee was funny :) Thanks for the laughs again :D
That coffee exercise is priceless! ... Here, my taste buds were all set to enjoy a nice cappuccino! (Now, not so much!)
Have to show the benefits of singing to my hubby. He can't understand why I always feel compelled to join in singing the commercial jingles on TV or radio!
I should have made an effort to get to a computer sooner, at least on Friday. Your fun friday posts are my very favorites.
I love the last part about singing. I have found that to be true by my own experimentation.
And I loved the new endings to the popular quotes. I think my favorite was the "you can lead a horse to water" one.
I sure do like that first cartoon. It made my day and those first graders sure are older than we think.
