Tuesdays Tails . . . .

CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT MY HUMAN FAMILY DID?

THEY BOUGHT THIS THING IN CALLED MAX. . .

He is a half pug and half chihuahua.  They thought he was just so cute.  Seven pounds of cuteness.
Bah Humbug.  I don't think he's cute.  I think he's nothing but a seven pound pest.

Mom said they loved me so much they wanted another one to love too.  But that's not how I felt when they brought him home to my house!   And can you believe that little you know what had the gumption to eat my food?  I like to snack and eat it when I want to eat it - and he ate his and then went right to mine!

Okay they went to Pestsmart I mean Petsmart and saw this dumb pup - and they fell in love with him.  How do you like that?

I was soooooooooo mad!  Well I showed them.  I'm the master of this house.  I h--p-d the dog all night long!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I drove my mom and boy crazy.  And Max too.   He had to run like a big baby to his cage.  My mom and boy were worried about me - but I had to show him who was going to be the big boss in this house - didn't I?  I mean what did they expect springing this on me???

Well after about 7 hours of stress -mom put him in his cage to go to bed and I got the bed - of course.

Well Max was up all night.  We all woke up tired!  I wasn't any happier in the morning either.

Well grandma has allergies.  She never had a dog before me - and she said that the Lord made me for them.  Thank the Lord (and I mean that) she was allergic to MAX (and not me!).  They were going to have to return him.  (He he he he).  I was thrilled!  Grandma's arms were breaking out and had red itchy skin and they didn't want to let it go to long as they might have to get rid of me too!  NO WAY!!!

So that nasty little, I mean poor little Max had to go home - grandma and grandpa saw his foster home and it was nice - so blah - blah - blah - he was going to be okay there for another week.  He'll be adopted soon they said.

All I know is this - I am KING of MY castle again.  I'm happy and you know what friends?  I think I am appreciated a lot more around here.

The problem is this - they saw how little that darn Max was and they have me on a diet!  Do you think I am happy with this new diet?  NO!!!!!!!!  I am starving.  At least I think I am.

And I ask you why do they get to eat and not me - they need a diet too!!!???

Oh my I am a frustrated four year old pup, but I am loved and I really do love them so I'll let this pass.

After all, I am . . .

Martin Luther King's Day was celebrated yesterday and here is something he said that I loved:

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

Drat those doggie allergies. Errr...I mean....lucky you Disco!

Oh, Disco, that was quite the adventure! I hope your grandma gets over her break-outs, and that you learn to enjoy your diet. It will be a good thing in the end, promise.

wow, what a story.. hope he finds a home soon, sorry about the allergies, but happy for you Disco that you are still king of your home. tell mom, she can keep green beans in the fridge and when they eat, give you a couple or 3 green beans. our vet taught us this trick. you get your people food when they eat and no calories and you will lose weight

Ah, shame... although I have a feeling the little cute pest might be happier too. We always have room for one more here you know... wish we were closer....

Oh Disco, you always give me quite the laugh :)

I was wondering what was happening with the other dog; I think it was wise to return him, especially with your allergies, Sandie. Disco will always be "top dog" in the household, diet or not :)

I do like that quote from MLK!

enjoy today!

You are so funny Disco, but smart too as you proved to everyone!

Yeah, I have had a feeling that she could not be trusted!

LOL Oh Disco, you are quite the scheming little rascal. But you did give me a good laugh.

Poor little Max. He will be happy in his new home.
Disco.. you seem much happier by the sounds of it.
You are well loved.. maybe a little diet now and again ,wont go amiss.. we all have to do it Disco now and again.
Well, Disco.. I will be watching out for more of your news. Sorry about Grandma's rash.. I hope its gone by now.

Poor grandma having an allergic reaction like that. Who would have thought there could be such differences in doggy dander. Sorry it didn't work out but I know Disco is happy to be the king of his castle.

Betsy Banks Adams said...

Ah---I'm sorry for Max. He would have loved living in your home. Never heard of being allergic to one dog and not another... Crazy!

If you were in my house, Disco, I'd be tempted to send you back --and get another one.... SO--you are lucky you are loved!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Disco, veggies are free on every diet, so ask for the green beans like Sandra suggested and try a carrot snack. Joy and Rosie get frozen green beans, hot water to cover and then doggie food on top. They love them.

Jackie said...

Diet!? !?
No way. Protest...I'm sure you'll win out. You are the King.
Hugs,
Jackie

Lucky for you Disco!! Love that quote!!

jack69 said...

You go Disco. I like a dog who knows he is KING. That will show them. Now if the rash will just GOAWAY all will be well in your world, 'cept the diet of course..

Love and hi to the mom and brother!!! Form Wildwood Florida!

Oh, Disco, I think you would have liked Max if he could have stayed. I feel bad for him, but hopefully have a home soon. :) I feel really bad for your grandma! I hope she is feeling better. :) Hugs to you!

Susan said...

Hi Disco. Well, guess you showed everybody the "what for!"

Nobody'll ever forget who's King around there.

Hey, you even showed the grandma and you know that she usually get what she wants. (hee hee)

Well, Disco, you can relax now. The little what's-its-name is gonzo.

So you are King again. Go get 'em, pal. Susan

Can't say as I blame you about that little pest/ pup! Good luck with the diet. Maybe I will sneak over with some treats!

That was quite a "dog story". I found out that one dog in a household is best--my older dog didn't like an "intruder" in his house. He definitely didn't want to give up his status as "King of the Hill"! Glad it all worked out--but don't "starve" poor Disco!!! Mickie :)

Sandy said...

So cute!!! We also just added a new member to our family!!
The quote is great...and so true.

My girls are just like you Disco! They don't like a stranger at their house. They didn't like it when my mom's dog had to stay with us this summer for a few days. My old gal Two wanted to fight her and I had to keep them apart. Jazz couldn't care less about the stranger but Two could have gotten seriously hurt or even killed by my mom's dog. They were happy when that dog left! lol

ha ha disco. king of your castle on a diet! so there!

Ginny Hartzler said...

Oh my goodness!! I have to say that you had me bursting out laughing, but then the end is very sad. I have terrible cat allergies, I break out, wheeze, and have trouble breathing and my eyes swell way up and turn red. But viola, allergy medicine, now i can have three cats! Would you ever consider allergy medicine? I feel your pain.

Coloring Outside the Lines said...

Ah, I am feeling sorta sad for the other pup...Disco- you crack me up!

Betty said...

Oh dear...sorry about the allergy. Little Max will find another home and Disco will live happily ever after.

Southhamsdarling said...

Oh dear Disco! You were really mean to poor little Max, weren't you. I hope he will find a loving home. At least now you can be top dog again. I hope that your grandma's allergy gets better very soon.

The Boston Lady said...

Disco! I cannot believe the dog who posted that quote by Dr. King behaved in such a fashion!!! I think your mom needs a puppy with poodle in it - they are non-allergenic and you will have a second chance to "welcome" home a nice companion for you and your mom. Long live King Disco! Ann TBL

Blondee said...

How heartbreaking to find another 'baby' to love, only to have to let it go. Even if Disco was kind of giddy about it going!

I hope you are able to find another breed that is better for the allergies. :(

Belle said...

I'm glad to hear Disco is happy once again! It took our older dog a month to warm up to the puppy I got. She did nothing but growl at her at first!

Linda @ A La Carte said...

Oh Disco you dodged having to share your family but you also dodged having another friend. Still I Grandma was allergic it had to go!! I think we all need to diet, so just keep doing your 'disco' dance and soon you will be svelte and can eat again! Hugs, Linda

Connie said...

Aw, Max is indeed a cutie. It's too bad things didn't work out for you to get to keep him.

Gail Dixon said...

I am doubling over laughing! We have had some of the same situations in our house, minus allergies. So sorry Max couldn't say, but it sounds like Disco is just a teeny bit relieved. :)

Cheryl @ TFD said...

I hope Grandma's rash has gone away and she's feeling better. Poor Max. I hope he finds a good home soon. And lucky Disco to have such a loving home!
Cute story.

Unknown said...

Wow that was some story - hope all will work out well in the end :)

Ann said...

I'm sure that Max would have grown on you eventually and you could have trained him to understand who was in charge. At least now you don't have to go to all that trouble though because it does sound like a bit of work.

Nonnie said...

Disco, you are one lucky dog!! I'm sorry for Max, but really sorry that your grandma had the rash. Hope she is doing better soon. I know you are better already yourself. (even if you have to be on a diet. It's worth it, isn't it? Just getting to be with all the people you love and having them all to yourself.)

jp@A Green Ridge said...

Disco think of the nice shape you'll have when you've reached your goal and all the neighborhood pufff-balls that can chase you! As for Mom, I think one of YOU is plenty!...:)JP

Ms. A said...

I hope the allergies weren't just to something they had bathed Max in, but since he didn't end up staying I don't guess it matters. Now you are back to getting all the attention for yourself!

Sharon said...

Oh Disco. What a close call. Max is cute, but I understand your desire to want to be the one and only "Top Dog."

And...a diet? Where's the fun in that??

Poor Grandma...I can imagine the discomfort. Hope Max [don't be alarmed Disco] finds a new, loving home.

Hey, I got an idea...you can be on the cover of Adopted Pets R Us...and show them just what a diet should be. You go boy!!! High Paws!!

Yeah for Disco !!!

We are down to one pet now and that is fine with us. Adi (our beagle lover of 16 years) died in September and Amber (Karen's cat who lived with us for the last three years while daughter was in London) died in December.

Katrin finally is the boss of the house and she is loving it. Of course she misses her friends, Adi and Amber, a lot. We all do.

Chattttty OH Thank you for returning. Now I have to say I thought you were insane getting another doggie.

Disco: I hope you can stay on your diet. They wouldn't put you on it if you didn't need it. OK?

Chatty Dear! Thank you for you nice words and fun attitude!!!!!!!!!

Grammy: Praise God...I guess He made it clear that it was HIS answers to prayer that got Disco through.

Country Corgis: Yes, Disco, it is really a BUMMER when someone sneaks in a new animal family member... even if they are just fostering for a short time. Grammy can't do that anymore as we don't have the room since we moved. We did want to tell you that when we are on a diet, Grammy gives us carrots to chew on or makes rice with carrots to mix with our regular kibble (cuts back to 1/2 to 3/4 reg kibble)so that we still get to eat enough to fill up, but don't get as many calories. A yam slice works too. They also make diet dog food and since you are only one and little, that might help. A raw rib bone (never cooked) to chew on helps, too.

Lynn said...

Oh my - what a tale! I'm glad it worked out for both of you Disco. :)

Debbie said...

Hahahahahaha!

I promise that I am not laughing at the allergies or the fact that you had to take Max back. I'm laughing at the story told through the eyes of Disco.

Whooops. There I go again.

Sorry, though, that you couldn't add to the fold. He is indeed the king of his castle.

Sorry but I'm not laughing.

What's to laugh about, here? :-(

YOU are allergic to dogs! You, home all day/night. With dog/dogs.

What the H_ll was your daughter thinking? To decide to bring another dog, into YOUR home. YOU, remember YOU... Home all day and night. Allergic to dogs.

Bahh-humbug...

P.S. Who will go away quietly, if this is too much "truth-in-comments."
