And I will be catching up on blogs and comments this weekend - the week got away from me! oops
Moral of the story – use name brands that you know are made HERE or close to here. I only work part-time and by no means have a lot, but I do not cut corners on products that go directly on the skin.

Jim sent me this idea - from Jim's Little Blog
This is my little craft corner - I just did the ribbons on the hangar - it works great.
And food from there not much better - Monica at Chicken Wrangler and the following too:
NOT ALL THIEVES ARE STUPID!!
A very interesting article. The electronic age has produced electronic criminals.
1. A friend of a friend left their car in the long-term parking at the airport while traveling and someone broke into the car. Using the information on the car's registration in the glove compartment, they drove the car to the people's home in Pebble Beach and robbed it. So I guess if we are going to leave the car in long-term parking, we should not leave the registration/insurance cards in it, nor your remote garage door opener.
2. GPS.
A police report states that someone had their car broken into while they were at a football game. The car was parked in a designated parking lot adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a gun, a garage door remote control and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard. When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen. The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.
Something to consider if you have a GPS - don't put your home address in it... Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so you can still find your way home if you need to, but no one else would know where you live if your GPS were stolen.
3. MOBILE PHONES
This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet, etc., was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little while ago.' When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.
Moral of the lesson:
a. Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....
b. And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back.
c. Also, when you're being texted by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going
places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.

I love these. And couldn't agree with Robin Williams more. Hoping your having a great Caturday.
My boss taught me the staple puller trick for opening key rings. Works great! Love the organization tips. Have a great weekend!
Hmmm...so many ideas shared...the take always for me will be the ribbon hanger and the staple remover trick because I already agree with Robin Williams!...:)JP
It is always good to be reminded of the new schemes that criminals are using these days.
These are all great tips. Love the cat-toon :>)
I still recall my mom and dad referring to merchandise marked, "Made in China" and going ... "Junk!" They weren't snobby in the slightest, but always wondered if they knew something I didn't!
Gosh, but I can identify with that Robin Williams' quote! Good one, Sandie!
Wow the GPS story was a wake-up call...I need to take my home address out of there.
Hi Sandie...Lots of good information today. The leaving the car in the long-term parking lot was very timely as I have a family member doing that tomorrow! I'll tell him about it.
Also, squeezing the breasts? Never heard of that. Interesting.
Hope your Saturday is terrific. Susan
important reminders...thanks for sharing them. It is getting to the point we can not carry anything with us. I am thinking about hiding my stuff in the trunk of the car in something they would not think to look in.
I do love that quote by Robin Williams!
Good Saturday morning Sandie. Have a good day!
Sad thing is so much stuff is made in China these days, it is hard to find something that isn't :(
good advice though about safety that you listed here Sandie; one can never bee too careful in that regard I do believe!
betty
I'm very careful about things I buy to use on my skin for sure! Love the idea for opening the key ring with the staple remover...genius!!
hugs, Linda
We don't have GPS in our truck. It's too old. But, now we know when we get our new car to make sure our address is not in there!
Oh my forgive me for not stopping by to say Happy Valentine's Day to you!
Happy Belated Valentine's Day! I hope you had a good one!
Big big hugs! :-)
the key ring one is great! i, too, have torn up a lot of thumbnails on those suckers!
Gulp- that book about things made elsewhere is really a shocking eye opener. Wow!
It's quite amazing when you really stop to look.. made in China, you look again at something else and guess what... we have one store I USED TO SHOP IN... when looking at labels.. everything made in China...
Don't be fooled the prices weren't the cheapest. Look before you buy is a good idea... oR :-) make it yourself then you know where it has come from :-) x x x
I'm with Robin Williams x
Thanks for the Saturday's Service!
I like the idea of using the staple remover for the key ring. I always struggle with them. Have a great weekend. Debby
Many good tips to ponder here...Thank you.
bad about lotions but if mashing on your boobs stoped cancer no one married would have it. love you dear
Great information and I love what Robin Williams says! SO TRUE! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
The hand lotion story is awful!!! Hey, I have just been having a fit with all my ribbon, and LOVE the hanger idea!! Where did you get your hanger? I haven't seen any like that around here. And does the end open up? I really want to do this. It would be a SCREAM if you told me you got it in the Dollar Store!!!
Great post. And the tip how to open a keyring, very smart. That's a really nice and organised craft corner.
Hope you're having a great weekend so far.
Eva
I love the keyring tip, thank you. And all the rest was great too, particularly the quote.
Your little corner is charming. I hope you are having a wonderful week-end.
I learned a lot here, Chatty. Thanks for all the fantastic information. It just isn't safe out there anymore, is it, not even if you live in the sticks.
Blessings
Yikes! I didn't know that about the lotion made in China, will be careful to read labels from now on. Great tips here. Love the cat-toon.
Wonderful Post Sandie,
I guess the old saying...if it is too good to be true...it probably is and something like, you pay for what you get...I stopped buying anything made in china when so many of the toys were testing positive for mercury.
have a wonderful Sunday
hugs
Great post Chatty....Good tips
I love your craft corner - how awesome!
Thank you for giving us all a wake up call!! Great Post!
Hugs!
Jemma
Great ideas about the staple remover and the ribbon hanger1
These are so useful. I gave up all lotions etc. made in China some years ago. Very concerned about what might be in them. I might pay a little more, but so worth it.
Wishes for a great Sunday!
Hi Lady! Love the ribbon idea. What kind of hanger is that. I don't have one of those. What should I look for.
Love the Robin Williams quote. So true!!
Blessings,
Wow! There was not one single thing posted here today that I didn't get something out of! As far as the lotion thing, I stick to things made in the US. Even that is probably not always perfect, but it is certainly better! At least we have recourse.
GREAT post, my dear!
Mona
BAck again, the last comment did not take. LOL
Love the read and photo's 'specially Caturday!'
Maybe if the crooks would have used their ingenuity for honest gains, they would legally become millionaires.
Neat crafts corner..
Have a good evening,
Sherry & Jack... ((HUGS))
Now you know that I love the ribbon storage idea. I'll have to remember to grab one of those hangers the next time I go to the dollar store. All my ribbons are in a plastic box right now.
Great ideas, I love the $$ store but am careful whaat I buy there. I also dont buy any dog treats. foods or bones from there, cuz you never know.
Great ribbon storage. I would need like 50 hangars for all my ribbons!! LOL
Diana
Great ideas and I love the Robin Williams pic with quote!
Oh my what can I say there are so many thing we just don't think about such at the GPS and that bit about the info on the mobile phone....... I have hubby list as just Tim in fact the only contacts that have their relationship to be are my mum and dad all the others just have names. I like that trick whth the stapler I will have to remember that one.
Such GREAT tips! Thanks for sharing them. Going to share them with my girl. Now, if I could only find that staple remover!!! :)
Great advice.
And, that quote from Robin Williams was a very good one. Thank goodness that Jesus never, ever leaves us alone - He is always with us.
GOD BLESS, Sandie!
Hmmmm....I like Robin Williams' quote. So true!
xo Catherine
p.s. Sunday night....Hi Sandie. Told one of my sisters, who is traveling, about not leaving registration in her car in long-term parking.
WOW WOW WOW Love the green for St. Patty's day! Bright and cheerful. Susan
Those are good tips ...I love organization but am always chasing my self in circles with it. (too much shopping I think) And those stories about burglers....wow...Hope I can remember those for future precautions. Thanks Sandie...your blog is both helpful and entertaining..have a nice day tomorrow!
Great information Sandie -- love the new St. Patrick's Day theme on your blog. :)
I LOVE that staple remover idea!! I am always struggling with key rings for the Old Girls!! And, I'm 100% with Robin Williams in that quote! blessings ~ tanna
So much wisdom on your page today. My hubby doesn't know my pin, thank God!! But what a terrible thing to happen. About China, they are very clever and are taking over the world with us helping them by buying the cheap products. Our country has been talking about all the sea foods purchased from them, that is so unclean. This is so crazy because Australia is surrounded with ocean. I can't understand our government buying sea food off them...YUK!!
I love the ribbon idea! Gonna try that one! I also love the Chicago river on St. Patty's Day. Our son and DIL live there and they send me pics of it each year. Thanks for visiting me!
OMyGosh! I love the staple remover idea. Those things are amazing. Thank you.
and ...You make me chuckle. You are so cute. I am really just 5'5" but if I have on 3 inch or more heels I could be like 5'9". Last night when my daughters were here I was going to take a photo of them and me showing our height diff but I forgot. I was too busy taking pics with my grands!
You are cute! You are full of fun! You are ALWAYS so nice to me! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for the timely advice, kathy! I am sending this to my husband to read.
Thank you so much for the timely advice, kathy! I am sending this to my husband to read.
Caturday ha ha ha!! I hope you have a great week.
HI Sandie, Me again.... We been in Arkansas for a week --so I'm trying to catch back up with my blog friends. Hope you had a great week.
Love your Saturday Services post... All of those ways that people can steal from you are scary... Seems we just don't have much privacy left at all these days. We just cannot be too careful.
Hugs,
Betsy
How did I miss the bit about the hand lotion last time I read this......what the hell is wrong with some people I do not like buying stuff made in China as a rule and this just makes me not want to buy said items all the more
Wow useful info! I love the Robin Williams quote :)
how does Robin Williams know?!
love your craft corner!!
I love Robin Williams! Haven't seen him around lately - no movies and no gossip about the poor guy!
I will have to get that book about things made in China!!
they are killing their own people with their pollution as well as us and our planet!! they say that 95% of what we use in the kitchen is made in China!! We need to make an effort to buy MADE IN USA!!
Me included!!
Wonderful info! I never buy candles not made in the USA due to the amount of carcinogens in them! I like that staple puller trick! I hardly have any nails to begin with since my kid went to college out of state! Love all these! Thanks for sharing!
