Thursday Wellness and GIveaway

Now I have been waiting for this giveaway!!!!

Jack at Shiplog has written a new book.

Jack is an accomplished author - he's written other books.  Finally Love was written - after we became blog buddies.  Of course I bought his book and I finished it last night when I took grandson to karate for two hours.  I hated to put it down because it was so awesome.  It was about love - mature love - and you know I'm a romantic.  So this was the book for me!

The contest will run one week until Thursday the 9th when the two winners will be picked.

Leave a comment saying you would like his book and you'll be entered into the contest. The one request Jack has is when you are finished reading it - you let him know which character you liked best - I had my favorite!

Now here is the Synopsis of 'Finally Love':

Jerry Wiley, CEO of Wiley Industries has never allowed himself time for love.  But now, in his senior years, his path has crossed with a former classmate, Sherry Oxnard, from years ago in medical school.  Their lives have taken separate paths--he as Head of Medicine at Duke, CIA operative, company CEO, and modern vigilante--she as a doctor and doctor’s wife at a successful medical clinic.

Sherry’s husband is neglectful and abusive as a spouse and crooked as a businessman.   He is suspected of laundering money for a drug cartel, and he resorts to bribes and political favors to exonerate himself.  Frustrated by the injustice, law enforcement unofficially asks Jerry’s crew, the MVA, Modern Vigilante Association, to intervene and bring the erring doctor to justice.

In an unforeseen turn of events, Sherry’s husband is killed during the MVA operation, and Jerry sends his company attorney to offer Sherry assistance.  Sherry refuses any monetary assistance, but agrees to renew acquaintances with Jerry.

Almost immediately romance blossoms, and the urgency of making up for lost time provides a backdrop for a whirlwind courtship.  The 1950’s melodies of their youth provide the harmony as they fall in love.  Promises of cozy small-town life, dreams of travel to exotic locales, and relational harmony are all on their horizon.  Their bliss is interrupted when a sinister letter appears at Jerry’s office.  An anonymous villain lurks, shrouded in mystery.

The MVA once again works to bring a resolution.  Jerry and Sherry experience danger and high adventure before the mystery is solved and sweet harmony is restored.

Recipe of the week for those who have to watch their sugar like me.

  CREAM CHEESE PIE

  From Jenn at Blondee's Diary

Sure. I have a quick and easy cheat if you love cream cheese pie, or a cheesecake type dessert!
Take 2 bricks of cream cheese,
2 tsp of Truvia,  NuNaturals
1 tsp of vanilla
1/2 tsp of lemon juice
Mix until well incorporated. Divide among 4 dessert glasses.
In small bowl, microwave 1/3 cup Hershey's sugar free chocolate chips with 1 tsbp of Coconut Oil for 1 minute.
Stir to mix evenly.
Pour over the cheesecake dessert and let sit for 3-5 minutes or until topping is soft set.
Do not refrigerate or the chocolate becomes hard and comes out in chunks.
THE LAUGH:

(It will go well with the cheesecake!)
THE LIFT:

“Every one of us receives and passes on an inheritance. The inheritance may not be an accumulation of earthly possessions or acquired riches, but whether we realize it or not, our choices, words, actions, and values will impact someone and form the heritage we hand down.”
Ben Hardesty
