Thursday - What do you know about salt?

MY HEALTHY RECIPE FOR YOU!

Remember last week I told you what I'd use garbanzo-bean flour for - this is it.
Healthy and delish!

Banana-Chocolate Nut Loaf -

2 cups almond flour (or you can grind almonds)
3/4 cup sugar substitute
1/2  cup chopped walnuts (which I leave out!)
1/4 cup garbanzo bean flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup melted coconut oil
3 medium mashed bananas
3 large eggs - separated
3/4 cup chopped dark chocolate - divided

1. Combine first 7 ingredients and 1/4 tsp. salt.  Stir in coconut oil, bananas, egg yolks and 1/2 cup chocolate.

2. Using mixer, beat egg whites 2 minutes or until soft peaks form.
Gently fold into batter.

3.  Pour batter into lined 9x5 loaf pan lightly coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.

Let cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from the pan.
Let cool.
Melt the remaining chocolate and drizzle over top.
Garnish with walnuts if desired.

NOW A LITTLE LESSON IN SALTS

This weeks give away is from the Spice Lab Gourmet Salt Collection   - click here

These are all the salt packages they have - great to use and great as gifts to give away.  They offer over 180 different sea salts from 30 countries.  The Spice Lab has the largest selection of gourmet sea salts from a single source.  The product line includes 180 jarred sea salts and spices, award winner Gourmet Sea Salt Collections, peppercorns and spice mixes.  Other offerings include salt grinders plates, stones, lamps and shot glasses. salt cellars, spoons, jars and bath salts.

This is what they sent me to try and they will send one to the winner. -Announced next Thursday.

Would you like to receive some HEALTHY SALT? (That is my take on these salts).

Be a follower of mine and like The Spice Lab on facebook then tell me in a comment you liked them and I'll put you in the pot.

If you don't mention the salt I'm going to assume you aren't interested which is sad because this stuff is awesome.

Like The Spice Lab at https://www.facebook.com/TheSpiceLabInc?fref=ts
I was not paid for this review - I did receive a product to test and review.

Now I said a little lesson about salts.  Everyone says that salt is bad for you.  Not true.  WHITE SALT Is bad for you.  They have taken everything out of salt that is white.  Just like sugar and flour.

Sea salt that has not been tampered with it good for you - has a lot of the minerals in it that are good for you!

Now here is a little dessert for you that is healthy as well and cute too!

Thank you Terry at My Journey with Candida Blog - doesn't this look great?

  3. We are having a major issue with salt here. EVERYTHING Jim eats is too salty, even ice cream. So, needless to say, I am not using salt on or in anything...:(

  9. Wow; 180 salt varieties. News to the Bear.

While we occasionally bake with some salt (in the bread, for example), we don't cook with salt. We do have it on the table at meal time. Varieties of salt would make an interesting addition to our household.

    Please and thanks!

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

  12. I have cut back on salt even though I'm blessed with fabulous blood pressure readings. I can't help but wonder how you find the time to provide so much information all the time, as busy a grandma as you are. I know all your readers do appreciate it though. I certainly do. Have a nice day!

  27. The link didn't work for me, but I went to FB and searched for them. I've liked them, and you may (please) put me in the pot! I use sea salt all the time and agree that regular white table salt is our biggest problem.

    Very cute fruit plate design!

    Thanks, Sandie!

  32. Recently on Dr. Oz, there was another doctor on stating that for years they said Kosher Salt was better for you than Table Salt but now they are changing their minds because Kosher Salt is larger and the taste wants people to eat more, therefore, gaining more weight????

  33. I'm totally loving the salt. :)

  44. Loved this *spicy* post!! And, the one thing I know about salt is this:

"Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." (Colossians 4:6, ESV)

Spread the seasoning of the Spirit!!

  45. We switched to sea salt a while ago. I don't use much salt, but my husband and my sister use it like it's the last chance they'll ever have! :)

That bread looks great! Congratulations on healthy eating!!

Love the Scripture lift! It was certainly appropriate.

  46. Thanks, but no salt for me. I don't like it and rarely use it in cooking and never at the table. I wish restaurants wouldn't use so much salt. When we go out to eat everything tastes salty to me. I know, I'm weird.

    ReplyDelete
