Monday Musings ...and Awe Mondays

"AWE  (IT'S) MONDAY!"

Now if this doesn't make you say awe there is something wrong with you!

Let's take a spin back - so what did you do this weekend?

We ran around again all weekend.  We went to Wal Mart - Michael's - Joanne's - Hobby Lobby - Party City - okay you know what we were doing - getting ready for the wonderful season of fall and some projects around the house.
Sunday we went to church and it was homework day.  It was a lot, but he did it!
We watched rental movies - Epic and Country Strong - the first was for the grandson and it was okay.  The second one was a sleeper, but really cute.

The weather is getting down to the high seventies. I love that temperature I could live in it all year long.

The famous leg - got all the blood tests back.  No lupus. He said he did not think it was blood cancer.   He said that he did the basic tests as far as Dermatology is concerned.  So now he is sending me to my 'In'ternist because it might be affecting some organs inside the body that the blood can't see.  And of course - it may be nothing, but that I should check it out.  I talked to my son and he thought they should send me to a Rheumatologist.   I need Dr. House.
Thanks for all your support and prayers for me.
If and when I find out anything I will let you know.

Now here is a Southern fence:

Notice the beautiful design - they did not want to buy a bigger fence so they just lifted it higher off the ground in a zigzag pattern.... (note I still take photos will driving!)

And right next door - is a Southern Gate:  (I was at a stop sign.)

Yes you see correctly - there is a chain link fence all around the property and that is the gate.  Looks like it is just standing there.

And this is located right next to the house with the wooden zigzag fence.
It is not in our neighborhood, but it is close!

Disco had a couple breathing problems - do your fur babies get breathing problems?  It is not asthma - the doctor said it was reverse breathing.  But when he does that - he looks so sad and panicked.
Look at my deep, deep brown eyes...
Love, Disco

THE LAUGH:
Okay come on this is cute!

I hope you find the answers about your leg soon and about Disco's breathing issues. It is hard not knowing what is causing a health problem.

My am glad that it is not Lupus, I hope that your leg problems get better.
Give my love to Disco. I hope he is breathing better. I am glad that he does not have asthma. Phew - - -. Imagine having to go through all of those inhalers. It is hard enough for people.

Oh the lift is so perfect for me lately. Now where did I miss hearing about an ailment? What is wrong?

Thank you sweet Chatty for saying I look like a 'princess'. That was so nice of you. (hug)

Your weekend sounded nice, it did.

Still saying a prayer for you - and yes, our dog gets those funny snorting , breathing episodes.

I don't know whether to laugh at her or call the vet.

Hope you are all better VERY soon.

Yes, my chihuahuas get the reverse sneezing thing. Very scary. Hope your tests turn out to be nothing. I'll remember you in my prayers.

aww at the puppies today all of 'em including the big one (Disco) who's not really big. :)

Our weekend was similar to yours...shopping (though I was doing some Christmas shopping, lolol) and church.

Oh, and a soccer game where grandma and grandpa came and then let little man ride with them to brunch afterwards, in a carseat for him, and one for their little dog (yes, a carseat for the dog, lol) right next to him. My son got a kick out of it. Not sure the dog did. ;)

Have a great Monday!

Dear Sandie, I used to have pugs, they are the most warm and friendly and also funny dogs.
Happy Monday dear friend. Catherine xo

busy weekend but it must be fun shopping at those craft places. Hope your leg will be better soon.

I googled reverse breathing and found nothing but tons of reverse sneezing. i have not heard of this before.
glad it is not Lupus but finding out what it is might take a while and a dozen doctors... i refuse to get on my soap box about doctors.

Your awww or awe Monday contribution is awesome. I linked you already. I hope everyone will visit you.

I'm happy that you are continuing to work on what happening to your leg. Don't give up.

I love the high 70s too and it could stay this temperature all year long.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

This weekend was watching football, working on some writing, going to church - kinda normal.

Wow, good news on your leg so far. I am hoping that they find out what is going on, and that it is something that they can correct easily. Praying for you...

As for Disco, no worries. Marty does the same thing - his doctor called it reverse sneezing. Google it - it's very reassuring. When I'm with Marty and he does it, I just try to talk soothing to him, and rub his back, cuz he does look scared. Poor babies!

Got a post about Marty today, if you get a chance to visit.

XO

Last week was gorgeous and we were in the low 70's here for high, This week is to get in the upper 70's they say. The weekend was just wonderful. Today is dark dreary and rainy, but warmer. I just feel like I need a nap. Hope you don't get too bogged down with all those tests. They certainly are covering all the bases. I'll continue to pray. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Hi Sandie, WE are home from our 10 day trip. Hope you followed us on FB this past week. It was a fantastic trip--but it's nice to be home.

Hope they find out what is wrong with your leg --and can 'fix' it. Sounds like it hasn't slowed you down much though!!!! I'm sure your doctor wants you to stay active.

I work hard NOT to stumble --but when I do, I just bounce up and keep on going. (Just hope that nobody saw me fall.)

Hugs,
Betsy

Reverse breathing, what the HECK....sounds bad. I has my blood tests today as well! So crazy that it is both of us! I am praying that it is nothing serious...for YOU that is!

Theresa Mahoney said...

Your weekend sounds a lot like mine. We went to all those stores too lol.

You are really making me want to go out and get another pug puppy. We've discussed getting one when the boxers pass, but that's in quite a few more years from now.

Fingers crossed you find answers about your leg soon. Sometimes the waiting for the answers is the worst part!

Optimistic Existentialist said...

LOL what a coincidence I do that same thing when I see myself in the mirror KIDDING

That dog was just so cute playing ^_^ Your weekend sounds nice! Mine was busy on Saturday and quiet on Sunday. And now I have one week off work (yeyyy) Happy Monday!

That leg has got to be worrisome. I had problems with my kidneys and liver... You know what the problem was. I think I told you before.

Lisa @ Two Bears Farm said...

That hen sitting on a puppy is hilarious!

I sure hope your leg turns out to be nothing!

I have never heard of reverse breathing in dogs.

That video of the puppy in front of the mirror is too funny.
Too bad you couldn't get an appointment with Dr House. He figures everything out and in less than an hour....lol

Lee said...

Now there's an idea...we'll write to House and beg him to come out retirement!! He's just sitting around his piano, playing and singing.

It's the not knowing that makes it so frustrating...the to-ing and fro-ing. I hope you get positive answers and results soon, Sandie. Then you can put it all behind you. :)

That chicken shouldn't have been playing away from home...let that be a lesson learned! ;)

The little dog stole your show today, Sandie. I loved him.
Our KP (4-year-old granddaughter) has imaginary friends. When she plays doctor then her doctor friend is Dr. Housy (ryhmes with who-see).
Seriously though, you do need to get a handle on what ails you.

Ok it's not lupus and not blood cancer so that is good, the fact that they still don't know what it is not so good more bloody annoying if you ask me..........which you didn't.....

The dog video was funny, the pig is cute as pigs often are

Hi Sandie....So sorry you are still having problems with the leg. Hope it gets cleared up soon.

Wowsers, you had a busy weekend!

I decorated for fall, went to church and to the movies, The Butler. Poignant movie from start to finish.

Hope your Tuesday goes well. Susan

Please do keep us posted about your leg and what you find out. Seems like a lot of tests!

We don't have cooler temps yet, but it was not quite so humid today. That's a plus!!

Disco is so adorable! Hope he is ok!

Oh Thanks for saying I look PRETTY IN PINK! I love hot pink but I am not sure if it loves me back at times. That was nice of you to say. Email to you tomorrow afternoon. ♥

You sound like you are feeling better and getting better answers... if no good results from the internist I agree with your son. A lot of times vasculitis is from a never determined cause...kinda stinks cuz you always wonder but I guess its better than being something really awful, yes??? love the pug video... I want one! BUt like disco I suspect Skip might object.

Glad so far nothing drastic onthe leg.
Love the setting hen with the puppy, precious....
Good read.
Disco is just playing with you, I hope.
Love from North Carolina....!

I am so glad it is not Lupus! I hope it turns out to be something easy to treat. Poor Disco---Andy, the beagle at my house, does a weird/noisy/snorty thing his vet calls reverse breathing. I rub his throat to help it stop. Hope both of you are better soon.

Starry Dawn said...

Hi Sandie,
I am sorry to hear that you are unwell with your health. I'll be praying for your complete healings and prompt recovery.
About Disco, I pray he gets better. My cats do the same things about breathing troubles. It happens to me too. I think it is the pollution in our natural environment, and lack of enough oxygen in the air. The puppy looking at herself in the mirror is so funny. Thank you so much, Sandie for visiting my posts, and saying lovely things about them!
Yes, I know! I've got more friends thanks you, Sandie. You are a super friend, and everyone loves you around here, my friend.
Have a superb week, Sandie!
Greetings from Starry.

Koda sometimes does something that someone says was reverse sneezing, but it is a bit scary when he is doing it. Poor Disco. Hope you do get an answer about your leg, but glad it wasn't lupus. I'd agree with your son and maybe see a rheumatologist.

Not lupus...not blood cancer.
May I do back flips, yell, "Hooray"...and smile real big!!
I'm so happy to hear that.
And as far as Dr. House is concerned...I would LOVE for him to be my doctor. I have a crush on him. (Pssst...don't tell!!) Love him!
Hugs,
Ja.

Debbie said...

I am so glad to read about the leg!! I still want an answer a la Dr. House, but I could not be happier about what has been ruled out.

I loved that last one about Honey Boo. Since she lives not that far from here, I do think that often. (The sad thing is that that's the way many nonsoutherners thought of us long before she came into the picture. I guess it's payback for the number of southerners who truly believe that all northerners act like the Jersey Shore people. That stereotype isn't fair or true either.)

Says the girl from New England to the girl from the midwest...

Theresa said...

Yes, keep checking on the leg until you get an answer! Weird fences:) Have a blessed day dear Sandie, HUGS!

WOW...those fences are something.
Love the way you always make me laugh with your blog. You are the queen of laughter.
Have a great week.

I wish you could get ahold of Dr House too. Things come on so fast--- and its frustrating when "the drs' don't know. We have some other friends too- that the drs don't know- but Dr House would find the answers!
More prayers for you

Sandie, I have missed the leg drama and hope you get answers soon! That can be so frustrating and nervewracking. Sorry you are having to deal with that.

My Bostons have the reverse breathing, usually happens when they are overly excited or pulling on their leashes. It does look like it is scary and painful for them. I was actually told it was a reverse sneeze. Ann

Dee said...

Well if the leg does not kill ya all the scary stuff they are testing for could...jeepers! I will keep you in prayer....I love it when the Lord heals a person and the doctors get baffled. :) The puppy video is adorable as is the hen with the puppy....♥
