“Animals have these advantages over man: they never hear the clock strike, they die without any idea of death, they have no theologians to instruct them, their last moments are not disturbed by unwelcome and unpleasant ceremonies, their funerals cost them nothing, and no one starts lawsuits over their wills.”

(GINNY'S QUOTE from Let Your Light Shine)
My brain in October:
THANK GOODNESS WE ARE IN NOVEMBER!
For three years now I have been the District Vice-President for my area for the United Methodist Women.
While I loved doing it, it was a lot of work.
I did my last big conference of my term and it turned out a success - thank you God.
I had a lot of work and prep (this was the weekend after the Craft Show).
It's all good now.
It is United Methodist Women's 150 year celebration.
The first UMW meeting ever.
We have come a long way baby!
All the work we do and the money we make are for women and children in need.
We are a wonderfully diverse group of women - here are some photos.
150 years later!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what we look like now.
The Korean UMW Choral Group
The Atlanta Korean Group
New officers installed for next year.
This big bad birthday cake for 100 women and we did almost finish it.
As the Deer Pantheth - The World Sings.

This is how he felt in October!

Happy early birthday to your hubby! Glad you got to visit your other grand, I hope the visit was a good one! You and your group of ladies are amazing with what you do! I am sure it is a lot of hard work, but rewarding I would imagine!

Disco looks Darling! happy day before birthday to your hubby and what a big difference 150 years makes in how you all look.

I linked this post to Happy Tuesday.
Have a fabulous day, Sandie. ♥
I guess October was a very busy one for you. You did a great job and I know that takes a lot of dedication and service. Congrats on a job well done! Sounds like November will continue to keep you busy. Happy Birthday to your Hubby. So true about the dogs life...Lots of good wisdom there!
We truly enjoyed the "Deer panteth for the water" Very touching. Good read and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE UMC women!!! Also to your hubby and my girl's BD is tomorrow also, they must be kin!!!
Love you lady,
Sherry & jack
PS: I bet hubs is also glad you life will be less hectic. Being a VOLUNTEER does take a lot of time, especially a high profile position. Glad the Sale, festival or bazaar was a success......
Interesting quote. How wonderful of you to give three years to the church as the District Vice-President. Looks like it was a lovely celebration. The song is beautiful. I'm sure you are happy that October is over but now the Thanksgiving and Christmas race begins....
A beautiful song. Do you have a large Korean population in your district? I love the choral group's colorful clothing. I hope you had a wonderful visit to my state!
Congratulations on a successful conference and 150 years of a worthy group!
Oh my word, girl! While a labor of love, that 150th observance had to have been a ton of work. Good for you, and glad you took the opportunity to get out of Dodge, even for a little bit.
Gotta be honest. At the beginning of that song I was like, "Whaaaat?" … but I kept watching and wound up loving it.
That snapshot of Disco is too precious!
That BIG cake looks so Yummy! Was it as good as it looks? It sounds like you've had a hectic October, Sandie. I hope November is more calm and peaceful for you. Disco even looks like he's had it haha. Oh, you went to Ohio to visit your grandson? Tell me how your trip was, I'd love to hear.
Happy Birthday to your husband, and wishing you so much goodness these November days.

You do stay busy, Lady!!! Job well done!
I just loved your first quote, and was shocked to find out that I had posted it! I have no memory of it at all!! Wow, you have been doing such good work, and never talking or bragging about it on your blog. I love those outfits that the Koreans are wearing, they are so pretty. As The Deer is one of my favorites, and I have a C.D. of it. I love the way this arrangement is, with a different person singing each verse. I hope you all have a great birthday celebration!! It is good to see a post from you!!!
A bloody great post from start to finish
The song you shared is just beautiful! Sandie, I had no idea you had such a big job with the UMW! Wow. How have you had time to blog and be a wife and grandmom? I have been involved in church women's work and know how it can suck the life out of you if you let it. God bless you! And what an exciting year to end your term with! Awesome!!
The World Sings selection was just beautiful.
Thank You!
Phyllis
You have been busy and I hope your hubby has a Happy Birthday. I feel just like Disco...he is adorable. Hopefully Nov. and Dec. will slow down a wee bit for you and we can get a chance to see each other before I move. Love ya.
Oh my goodness what a wonderful thing to celebrate!! The cake looks amazing and that song, wow! Happy, Happy Birthday to your hubby, that too is a wonderful celebration! Disco has the cutest expression he looks the way I felt during October and now here we are already in November man, can you believe it?
The song was truly beautiful..I think that's the way heaven will be...all of us singing in harmony together.
We have come a long way from 150 years ago...

Loved reading this post, Sandie, Thank You. Loved the little Blue Blobbies being so busy trying to find the bottom of things. Only to being sent back up. Was all futile?
I am sooo happy to here of your church work. I know your work has been very much appreciated. My Christoan parents, Mom especially growing up, and both my Christian wives who rescued me when I had strayed have been big in my walk. It all started when Dad had an instant change in life and suddenly our family went to church and Sunday school, every Sunday when I was about a sixth grader. Or Fifth? Dad eventually a deacon, Mom taught kindergarten and first grade SS for over 50 years. Not now, but I've probably taught SS for maybe half my life. I am an active Baptist Deacon now. I grew up Baptist but was a Methodist with my first Mrs. Jim for 16 years until I went Baptist again with my present Mrs. Jim, 47 years.
Enough, TMI, of me squatting on your blog. But that is me, us, and a loving God.
Thank you for peeking in again. Sorry I'm so late, last week got very hectic for me.
..
How fun you got to see the grand! I have two in my house this weekend. That makes my heart happy. Happy Birthday to your husband, and yeah, hurrah for November! Love the pics from your church's organization. That's good work you're a part of, for sure. :) Have a delightful weekend!
I am sure they appreciate all the work you do. It can't be easy!
Love the cartoons at the bottom. Heheh :-)
Hi Sandie - first happy birthday to your dearly beloved hubby. Then how lovely you had time with your family down in Ohio ... wonderful photos. Hope you're having a fun Thanksgiving weekend - all the best - Hilary
Your recruits have to feel like they have your full support. When you check on how they are doing regularly, you let them know that you are available to help. When communication is lacking, they may feel discourage by the lack of support.
