Just getting back from CINCINNATI for Thanksgiving. Sorry I didn't get to answer all your posts - but I am back and will start up again.
I only had a light jacket - which is all we need in GA unless something ODD happens to the weather.
Sorry for all the photos! I want to make a MEMORY here.
Tuesday:
We always start a trip with a sausage McMuffin - no cheese and no egg - and a senior coffee - this trip was no different.
We drove a few hours and stopped for lunch at a Mexican Diner- the food was actually GREAT.
Now Georgia is FULL of hills. We are originally from Chicago, but we are used to the hills now. Coming back north the first thing I noticed was the land getting FLAT and all the farms there.
There is ALWAYS construction when we drive north. ALWAYS.
The border between Kentucky and Ohio is a river - the Ohio River - the only way to get there is by a bridge. They have about five or six of them. One year the bridge we needed had been HIT and this year one bridge part of one of the bridges had a FIRE burn part of it.
We made pretty good time, and our first stop is ALWAYS Kroger. We have Kroger here in GA - but compared to the Kroger there - it is a BABY Kroger. The one in Cincinnati is HUGE. It has EVERYTHING you could dream of there.
My son gifted us with a B&B. It was very nice - because there were five of us coming up. The night we pulled in there was a DEER in front of it. I think we saw ten baby deer along the side of the road coming up - it was so sad to see them.
My two babies - 47 and 49.
My daughter in law is the best cook EVER. When we got in that night we had a pot roast, the next night chicken sliders, and then Thanksgiving - a delicious meal. The last night we went out to eat at the Rusty Bucket.
Played cards and talked. Kind of a real grown-up conversation too! We REMINISCED and we talked, we laughed, we told stories . . . .
PLAYED some outdoor soccer games.
Wednesday - Lunch at the FORD Restaurant. Had Model T cars overhead.
A loom to make fabric.
Went to the city to see some lights.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Friday - Restaurants galore in Hyde Park. Not restaurant chains - but individual little shops.

I will say this is not just A Memory but Many Memories. Wow! that is a lot of fun in one week. I hope you have photos of the B and B to show us. amazing trip and all with your family, what could be better. Well, maybe the cold could have been better.. ha ha
Reading this, I felt FAMILY and LOVE. You are truly blessed. And you telling the story of your trip was great. You have many new memories now.
That was one happy long Thanksgiving vacation! I plan to only visit Ohio in the summertime. My daughter and her family went there this Thanksgiving too and I heard about how cold it was. I was much better off staying in Texas with their dog. I'm sure you forgave the cold and kept warm memories.
I learned a lot today. Love your family photos. Especially love seeing your grandson I have watched grow. Want to see Bonhoeffer and hope it is streaming somewhere now. Also now I know how to feed grease to my chickens.
That first photo answers the question, "If I were a bird what kind of bird would I be?"
What a fun trip you had, Sandie. The Arc is amazing. Would have loved to go inside there - all the jugs and pots, how interesting. Can you imagine what it would be like to take care of all those animals? I love Noah's faith. Your Thanksgiving dinner looks delicious. All those little shops in Hyde Park sound so quaint. Is that the movie you watched? I've been wanting to see that one. That's a cute picture of Shaye. And a nice family photo to remember the special time you had in Ohio. It sounds really cold there, but almost as cold here. What a sight that deer family must have been. I'm so glad you got to go to McDonalds. There's nothing like an Egg McMuffin and their coffee for breakfast. And lastly, I LOVE that flamingo taking a walk in the snow. Will send that to Jess! Yes, I want a fur coat like that! haha

What a fabulous get-away, Sandie! Thank you for taking us along! Of course I've heard of the Ark exhibition, but never dreamed it was so elaborate. Now I really want to see it for myself someday. Hyde Park, too! I'm getting cabin fever over here, lol.
What a fabulous trip you and the family had. Plenty of delicious food, adventures and great conversation. That's a definite win.

What a wonderful trip you had!! SO many fun things! I have made Cincinnati Chili, but did not know it is a restaurant! Love your tip about fat and oats. One of my favorite pics is the golden color bridge from the car.

Yes, I do believe the ark was real and that's another place we would love to visit. Friends have been there and really enjoyed it.
