Everyone is beautiful in their own way!
I have some self-help and other information in today's post - if any interests you. They are articles I have been saving and thought you might be interested in.,
I sure don't want to lead y'all to any false hopes. So, take this advice for what it's worth. My daughter sent this to me the other day. I have had cancer, so any help that doesn't hurt me, I'll give it a try. This certainly doesn't hurt me and in fact I am enjoying it - however I honestly don't know how long you have to listen to it or if it really helps cancer to be honest.
I do know stress is bad for every disease and this destresses me a little bit - so I will listen to it off and on.
Ludwig van Beethoven CLICK HERE FOR BEETHOVEN'S SYMPHONY
Researchers found that Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 destroyed 20% of cancer cells in lab tests:
Scientists at the Instituto de Biophysical Carlos Chagas Filho, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are exploring whether music could play a role in cancer treatment.
COLON CANCER - I know this is true - my colon doctor said that red meat is the leading cause of colon cancer.
- Consuming red and processed meats can increase your risk of colon cancer.
- Swapping red and processed meats for lean, unprocessed proteins like chicken and legumes may help reduce your risk.
- Lifestyle factors like tobacco use, alcohol consumption and activity level can also impact colorectal cancer risk.
NAPPING
WRITTEN BY A COP - sorry it is so long.
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!
2. Learned this from a tourist guide. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, ....... DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you. AND RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back taillights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.) ... DON'T!
The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your HEAD and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
If someone is in the car with a gun to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF....... Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!!!!
Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it.
As soon as the car crashes......BAIL OUT AND RUN!!!!
It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.
5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) BE AWARE... look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor and in the back seat.
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
(And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!)
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!!!!
Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP!!!
It may get you raped or killed.
(Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well-educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next VICTIM).
9. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last and because it was late, and she thought it was weird. She called the police.
The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR!
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a windrow and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, do not open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.
10. Water scam!
If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe...
DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE!
These people turn on all your outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and then attack.

Interesting about the music. That is some good advice from a cop too.
I never even thought about checking tomatoes for holes like that.
Good Morning!! These are some things that we all need to pay great attention to. I often worry about my daughters and granddaughters if they pay close enough attention to their surroundings. We can NEVER be too cautious. You are doing your homework on safety and I appreciated you sharing it with us. Sending you a big ol' air hug.
I read all the cops things and have read them before, but most of them are good and most of them we were taught in Real Estate Class, because RE agents are prime targets... If I sat and listened to the 5th symphony, I would have a nervous breakdown, but I do believe listening to music that makes you feel good, no matter what it is, helps with our health. I also think listening to stand up comics and laughing my head off is good for my health, thats if I can find one I like that is not full of filth. we watched James Gregory on Prime this week and laughed until I cried..
Those are interesting. I do think that music is good for stress levels, unless it's music that drives you crazy!
The burning oreo link didn't work for me. :(
Thanks for all that info!
Good information, Sandi. I carry pepper spray in my purse and I am not afraid to use it. I’m fairly street smart but you have to keep up with what new crime is being perpetrated. Thanks for reminding us to always be alert.
Thanks for all the good advice! In this crazy world, who knows when we might need it. Take care and keep on encouraging us to beware.
These are fantastic tips for women to stay safe whether at home or in their cars, Sandie. I'm really grateful that Danny and I have to go everywhere together right now, all things considered. And I don't doubt the music therapy for a minute. If it's said that music soothes the savage beast, maybe they were righter than they knew all along. Blessings!
Good advice. I am always trying to anticipate the dangers and lock my car doors … better be paranoid than dead!
I've known all of these before but its good to read them again and refresh my awareness.
Good Music of my favorites is definitely a stress reliever . Never thought about Beethoven though.Have a great day.

That's pretty interesting about Beethoven. It did seem to calm me down. That's interesting about the red meat. Because of my cholesterol I'm trying not to eat much at all but Mark loves red meat. I wish I could nap. It only happens when I feel sick. Oh my, I will definitely look for those holes. Those are interesting facts but they made me feel scared to leave the house. Take care.
These tips written by a cop are totally awesome!! I read and enjoyed every one! The Bethoven is hard to believe. What kind of cancer did you have? Did I know this and forget?
What a great buffet of information! I didn't know about Beethoven's 5th being instrumental (pun intended, hee-hee) in slowing cancer sells; isn't that sort of research fascinating. Because red meat has been 80-90% of my daily regimen for decades now, that's a little concerning. I am trying to eat more fish and chicken, just due to the rising beef prices.
I love that dandelion image soooo much. Saving ... not sure why, but it makes me happy.
Good advice. I can't help but think of Schroder (from Peanuts) playing his beloved Beethoven. HE wouldn't be surprised at this news!
Wow, some of these are interesting and helpful, and while reading some, it was a bit scary. I knew about the red meats, and how chicken and fish are always better. I seldom eat red meat any more because it gets stuck in my teeth and is annoying after the meal. That is really something about regular napping. I usually take naps during the day, especially if I woke up early that morning. I've heard some of those safety tips about getting into your car, etc. Thanks for this post, Sandie. And I love the first picture and words with the yellow dandelion. That's true, and we all have our own magic about us. ; )

All good advice, my friend!! Thanks for the new and the reminders!
What a great post! Some things serious, some are funny and others instructive and informative! You hit all the spots!
A lot of good advice here. Thank you Sandie for taking the time to research this wonderful post. God bless you always.
These are all great tips and now I am afraid to even pick up a tomato. UGH Janice
Fascinating post, thank you!! I’m off to take a nap. 😊❤️
An interesting read.
I do think music can help you feel calmer.
All the best Jan
