MAY 27 Reviewing May

IT'S BEEN A LONG MONTH!

Baking and cooking.

These biscuits were delicious! There was a whole stick of butter on the bottom.

Chili - so so.

Blueberry Cornbread - wonderful!

Potato Salad - first time I ever made it.
So-so.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake - I didn't smooth the icing as much as I should have, but it was good!

Lemon Lavendar muffins - delish!

You know when I look around when I go out - I ALWAYS see something fascinating - do you?

Geese seem to touch down everywhere.

This was a man in a Whole Food parking lot - playing the violin - just beautifully!

I had a doctor visit, and we have a Deli we visit whenever we go there - we always get pea soup.

Fair for Senior Citizens.  We got a bag full of veggies.

Watching my grandson who was soooo sick.
Just wanted company.
I am not needed like this very much anymore, so it was nice.
I just watched tv.

Visiting my friend at her assisted living facility - I thought this was so pretty.

We had a minor earthquake this month.

I didn't notice it to be honest.

Went out with a Blog Friend.
She is WONDERFUL.

The Atlanta Zoo

I get McDonald's for my daughter's class at the end of the year for her class party.
Do you see ours has lit tables?
Does yours?
I always go to McDonalds and get her little class Happy Meals for their end of the year party.

Phew it was a busy month!

you did more in the month of may than I had done in a year, unless you count the myriad of house/yard work I do and caregiving of dog and man.
sounds like most of it was enjoyable. sorry grandson was sick. My brothers son is 48 and when he gets sick he goes to his Mama's house and goes to bed and she babies him like she always did. I say mama, because my brother does nothing ha ha.. he is just there.

You had lots of fun! Your food looks wonderful.
Glad you could be there for your grandson. We'll always help when they ask, right?
So fun to meet a blogging friend in real life!
I like your drawing.
It's so sweet of you to get happy meals for your daughters class. I bet the kids just love that!

What a delightful, busy month you enjoyed! Say, that zucchini cake looks like one of those (pricy) Bundt creations. I adore a good pea soup, but won't be making it anytime soon b/c Tom can't stand peas. I love this picture of you and Martha ... your hair is so pretty! One of these days we've got to meet in the middle!

. I loved the vivid scenes, like the violinist in the Whole Foods parking lot and the peaceful moments spent with family and friends. The small yet meaningful experiences, such as the senior fair and the minor earthquake, make the narrative relatable and genuine. It’s clear your friend cherishes simple pleasures and connections, making this reflection both charming and heartfelt. A wonderful glimpse into life’s rich tapestry!

May was a busy month for you, indeed, Sandie. I love that you buy all the kids in your daughter's class a Happy Meal on the last day of school. That's so sweet! And thanks for posting that photo of us, my friend. I'm looking forward to our next meet up in June! Oh, and I didn't feel the earthquake, either. Blessings!

You baked a lot of wonderful things this month! The blueberry cornbread sounds really good. And that chocolate zucchini cake! Love those little geese crossing the street. That would be so interesting seeing someone playing the violin in a shopping center. I'm not a fan of pea soup, but that's a nice tradition after your appts. Is that a food market for senior citizens? Your drawing turned out pretty good. I have no drawing or painting talent at all haha. Those earthquakes are scary. So glad it wasn't a major one. How fun to meet with a blog friend. I've only met one in person. She owned a vintage store in town when I lived in So Cal, and I would go in her shop now and then. That's so nice of you to get McDonald's for your daughter's class. She has a small classroom. Well, I'm thinking of Jess who can sometimes get a large class in the school years. And lastly, I love the pic of Andy when he was a wee one at the zoo, soooo cute.

I hope June brings you many wonderful days, Sandie.

What beautiful ladies you and Martha are. Love the photo!

There’s a lot to enjoy in this post, McDonald’s Happy meals for the class, the zoo, visiting a friend and even noticing the geese in the midst of daily activities. So sweet that you sat with your sick grandson. I sure hope he’s feeling better.
With May on the way out, I hope June is all that you hope for.

Looks like you have been busy and also having a good time. Our Canada 🇨🇦 geese sure make their way around. Lovely to see your baked food and drawings. I love your photos and it's great you got to spend some time with Martha. You are both beautiful souls. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, dear friend Sandie. 🧡

Sandie - wow you have been one busy lady. Your dishes that you made look so yummy. I would never have thought about putting blueberries in cornbread. That sounds excellent and who can resist the taste of lavender and lemon together. A perfect combination for a spring treat. I bet your daughter's class looks forward to your wonderful gift of McDonald's. Hope your grandson is better and that you had a lovely Memorial Day. Hugs!

Way to go on cooking and baking. I have no desire anymore. I don't see many things around here. Surely not a duck. How did your doctor's visit go. How nice that you go out and have the soup. That is interesting about the fair for seniors. Hope he is feeling better. Nice of you to help him. So your drawing too!!! Glad you didn't feel the earthquake. Seriously, you went out with Martha, how awesome was that. I should have met with you when we were in Georgia. I haven't been inside a McDonald's for years. That is so nice about the Happy Meals for her class. Yes, you were definitely busy!

What a lovely month! I haven't been in our Mcdonalds for maybe ten years. Now I wonder if they have lit tables. I have never seen such a thing. Your food all looks good! Trying new recipes keeps cooking from getting boring.

This post has made me hungry. Can't think why. You make chocolate cake with zuchinni? I make chocolate cake with beetroot. Here is the recipe:

It's so nice to go to McDonald's. We had many birthday parties there over the years.

God bless, Sandie. Keep smiling.

You sure had a busy month. All that cooking and baking looks amazing. I made potato salad a few weeks ago. I love it.
Sorry your grandson was sick. Hope he's feeling better now.
That is so nice of you to get your daughter's class happy meals. I bet they love that. Our McDonalds doesn't have tables like that.

Wow I say you did a lot this month! I think what happened with your potato salad you over cooked your potatoes and over mixed them making more a mashed potato than a salad.
Your baking looks amazing and how sweet to buy McDonalds for your daughter's class and that the school let you.

Your May is full of warm moments and simple joys, even with a few ups and downs. Those baking experiments, especially the lemon lavender muffins, sound like a lovely way to brighten a day. I also love how you notice small, beautiful things like the violin player or the geese that’s the kind of thoughtful perspective I enjoy too. I just posted a new blog entry; it would be wonderful if you checked it out when you have a moment.

What a month you've had! It sounds like a fantastic mix of delicious bakes (those butter-bottom biscuits and blueberry cornbread sound amazing!), sweet family moments, and fascinating finds out and about. That violinist in the parking lot and the lit tables at McDonald's are such unique observations. It's lovely that you got to spend time with your grandson and a blog friend, too. What a full and well-lived May!

I just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.
