TREES
This is my all-time favorite tree. There were two. Then one. Now none.
Progress?
I swear I believe they were here when the Civil War took place.
This is Kennesaw Mountain where the actual war was fought.
This tree is just so knobby - not sure what the knobs are from.
Does anyone know?
The next two scenes are in our cemetery - it is so pretty there.
This place is called the Grotto - there is a cave - that represents Jesus's empty tomb.
The angel is guarding it.
We went to Hawaii a couple of years ago.
No place or trees can quite match the beauty.
We would just sit outside, and they had the nicest breeze, and we just watched the trees blow in the wind.
Trees I found on the internet that I thought were unusual.
Maybe it's AI, but I don't think so.
Called the Intertwined tree.
This is at the Biltmore Estate in NC.
Looks pregnant?

Hi Sandie, what beautiful photos of these lovely and captivating 🌳 trees. I have no idea what those knobs are but they add a unique character to the tree.
I love trees too. They each have their own beauty.
Those knobs are called burls. Usually they are from a wound of some sort, the tree covers it and tries to heal itself. That tree has a lot of them.
I love trees, all of them, even the ones they say are invasive. you found one of every type tree. all the ones from Hawaii we have here in Florida, they are common here. of course its not Hawaii,
Palm trees are popular in Texas too. We have some other trees here too. I love the shade they give, but also the fact that they do clean the air we breathe everyday!
Beautiful trees and it is always sad when one dies and has to be cut down. Hopefully some of the wood can be retained and used to build something beautiful. I had a tree "house" in the maple tree in our backyard. It was beautiful in the fall and I loved reading Nancy Drew on my platform, high up in that tree during the summer! I enjoyed my visit here with you, Sandie!! xo
Beautiful assortment of trees.
I’m a tree hugger from way back. In fact I still have one male friend who calls me “old tree hugger” I have gone to city council meetings to protest the cutting of heritage trees - heck any tree for that matter. When we were looking into converting to solar they wanted to cut down our trees! We decided against it. Those trees bring shade in the summer and sunshine peaks through in the winter and refreshes and cleans the air: 🌲🌴🌳
Lovely post !
I do love trees of all kinds, Sandie, and your photos are grand! You got to go to Hawaii? What a treat that must have been. But closer to home, here in Kennesaw, are the very best trees of all. Blessings!
What stunning and unusual trees! The third one's bumps look like maybe some kind of disease, or maybe scarring from damage.
I love trees too! Thank you.
How I love the Banyan trees! That knobby one is sure something, isn't it? If I was decades younger, I'd want to climb it.
160 year ago. That's when the Civil War was, so some trees were definitely around then.
Such a good post Sandie....You know how much I love trees, especially since trees are how we make a living. Sam and I saw some gorgeous unusual trees on our trip to Hawaii several years ago. Crown gall is what causes those big knots on a lot of trees. The trees are so pretty during the all the seasons of they year....
I love trees we have some very old ones here back to the French Revolution. Those on the pictures are beautiful
When I was young I used to get up early and run to the forest before the trees got there. They always arrived first. One day I got there and someone had stolen the river. It was all dry. It was hot that day and very dry and the trees were fighting over a lone stray dog.
God bless.
The big knobs are called burls and can be caused by injury, disease or an insect infestation. Trees are so fascinating. I hate seeing trees being cut down for no good reason. Hawaii is a dream vacation spot of mine. Your pictures make me want to go even more.
I love trees and these are some beauties. We had a huge oak tree at my old home place and it is still standing, minus a few limbs but still there. We would always gather under that tree for family picnics, shucking corn and shelling peas. Ahhhhh the memories! We also visited Hawaii years ago and I LOVED watching the trees blowing in the breeze. Thank you for visiting me! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
Cool trees. The knobs look neat but it is from injury, disease, etc. Seems to be prevalent in many Oaks, which we have a lot of. Our trees can get those too.
Steve and I have been in those same spots in Hawai'i back in 2007. I was amazed at how many homeless there were living on the beach. Kinda ruined it for me. ❤️
Such interesting photos and trees! I love the ones with huge roots! Can't imagine what those knobs are...but they look rather sad on the tree, don't you think? Hope you are having a good week. Thanks for sharing the photos today!
I had a big long comment for you about this post and the amazing trees you shared and then I hit something and it disappeared. Great post!
Wow, look at the roots on that tree from Hawaii! That is ONE old tree. The tree from the Civil War is a haunting one. The gnarly tree with the knobs is so strange looking. Where is the Grotto Tree located? The Intertwined Tree is really neat. Yes, that last tree DOES look like a pregnant woman. How cool that is. I am fascinated with trees too; they have many stories to tell from the people standing underneath them. ; ) I am just resting up after Jess' visit today. It was a wonderful time, and I'll talk with you later. : )

I felt every word of this—those old trees hold so much quiet history. It’s hard to lose them. And that breeze in Hawaii? I could almost feel it just reading. Thanks for sharing these peaceful moments.
You are such a joy!!!
Sandie all the trees look so lovely and interesting. Your photos from Hawaii are breathtaking. I have heard they do not have humidity there so it makes the weather perfect. Certainly looks serene. So glad you shared these pictures. Hugs!
Boa tarde
Linda postagem, as árvores são maravilhosas, preservar a natureza é muito importante, belas fotos no Havaí, que lugar incrivel, um forte abraço.
