We met in Gatlinburg to celebrate his 50th birthday.
Small but wonderful family - I thank God for this gift.

Son, it has been a wonderful journey of life with you. I have been with you and known you the longest and I can say you are just a wonderful and Godly human being.

Oh my it is quite a shock when we have children 50 years old. Time passes so quickly. I have 2 now that are over 50. How can they be that old and I'm only 29 in my mind. Ha! Life goes on and we all get old. I hear them complaining about being old and I think how young they are! Happy Birthday to your son!
What a handsome son you have. Well my middle son won’t be 50 for another 5 years but his older brother would have been 50 in 2027 so while he is not with us anymore, I’m sure that will be surreal.

Awe....Sandie...this is such a sweet way to honor your son on his 50th Birthday. Goodness, he is such a handsome 50 year old guy!! You all did such a great job having the gift made and I know that he certainly was surprised. Our children are our treasures. Is he a doctor??

How wonderful! What a great tribute to your son! 50 is a milestone for sure! Is he a doctor? Looks like something in the medical field, but I'm new here so I don't know all the details. Looks like a wonderful family too! Our oldest will turn 54 later this month, and our youngest is 48. Our middle son would be 52, but he is in heaven and has been since he turned 41. Yeah, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm old enough to have such OLD children! It kind of creeps up on us. We've been teasing our oldest son that next year he will be able to get the senior citizen discounts! LOL. (now that really DOES make me feel old!). I loved this post, and Happy Happy Birthday to your son.

Great salute to your son, proud of him and you too. The most important thing in a boys life is his Mother. YES we could tell your deep love for him, family and his dedication and success. (There is always a great mother involved in those traits)

Yes to answer your questions...yes the welding burns were very painful and left deep scars. That photo is of my dad and I. Sunday afternoon was spent looking at the Sunday Funnies ... I was only 3-ish so I really couldn't read much. That's my Daddy looking at the rest of the Sunday paper ... through his "eye lids" haha..
