JULY 7 The Refreshed (or Resigned) 50s+ -- The Best part of life for those who let go of old roles and find a renewal of purpose.

Funny thing about getting older.
Your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to see through people gets much better!!!!!

REALITY!

Passages - Are you Refreshed or Resigned - Those who can let go of outdated roles can experience renewal, purpose, and the best of life. . .

Do any of these resonate with you?

People often say that falling in love brings out the poet in you. Do you think that's true?.

True happiness doesn't come from material things, it comes from the love and laughter of those we care for..... What matters is my faith, family, and friends. I love this post today !

Aww Sandie, so many of these resonate with me. This getting older or is it just plain Old? There is so little left compared to what's already been. I need to make the most of each day and thank the Lord for all He has given me.
This Life is a mystery but it is also an adventure. I'm glad I have family and friends and of course, my wonderful Husband to share it with.

These are each charming and share a truth. I often do find contentment and peace, I love having coffee with friends, being in my garden and being in prayer. Spending time with my sons. My pup too.

That's a good point about the eyes. They are all so good. Thanks for sharing them. I like the one about gardening, baking, reading and walks. (Note that I do that)
Cute note to M.

So many of these seem like they were written just for me. I love the not seeing as well, but more able to see through people. Finding happiness or beauty in ordinary things is huge! And I also don't feel like being responsible for anything!

You've no idea how these resonate with me. Funny, I used to fear growing old(er) and now it may be the best time of my life.

PS - I LOVE that look on your hubby's face as he looks at little Miss M.

I love them all and can relate to quite a few

So many of these made me smile--and nod!
The eyesight one is spot‑on… funny how clarity shifts from the eyes to the heart as we get older.
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful reminders that growing older can be both real and refreshing.

We don't have to look very far to see our blessings do we?

It's nice when we can find contentment in the little things.

Chatty Crone said...

Awe thank you sweet Debby.

Chatty Crone said...

Oh my goodness we are so much alike. I don't want to be responsible for anything anymore either. And I do think we can see through people a lot more than we could when we were younger.

Chatty Crone said...

Thank you Linda.

I think growing older we go through a land mind of learning.

Chatty Crone said...

He just adores M - thanks. And they are resonate with me too. Hey you have to go through it might as well do it right.

Chatty Crone said...

Kind of what we were talking about.

Oh, my goodness - aren't they so cute. You do need to get up there. How often do you get to see her?

Chatty Crone said...

I tell you - the view does change from the 20s to 70's, doesn't it?

Sandie each quote resonates with me friend. Adore the idea of the 300.00 dollar watch versus the 30.00 dollar gives us the same time and in the end we will all have the same size hole in the ground! Ah what joy you have with "M" - such a good corner to visit. Hope you are staying cool. Hugs!

I may resigned not refreshed and old age can't be refreshed, those that think it can are not old unless they have passed the big 80.
I do look for beauty in nature and not people and I do enjoy wildlife and all outdoors more than I did, I do know that time is on fast forward than each day is truly one less day on this earth.. I do believe that when the last day on earth for me is here, I will step into the arms of Jesus in heaven.

Chatty Crone said...

I don't know if it is advice - but I do feel I learned a lot by aging.

Chatty Crone said...

Too bad we don't learn things earlier in life. Right?

Chatty Crone said...

Oh Sandra, me too. ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Catherine said...

I enjoyed reading all the quotes SO true!

MELODY JACOB said...

That line about eyesight fading but the BS radar getting sharper is completely true. It feels incredibly liberating to finally drop those old expectations, stop people-pleasing, and just focus on what actually brings genuine joy. Every single day, I choose total renewal over resignation.
