Below this blog I have a video from Saturday Night Live this past weekend - Taylor Swift and her monologue. How in the world did this girl (she's 21 I think or younger) get to be so smart and so self confident? I think she has that quote down pat. What does she have that others don't?

Hedy Lamarr - Happy Birthday

Some little known facts from Wikipedia:

"Though known primarily for her acting , she also co-invented an early form of spread spectrum communications technology, a key to modern wireless communication.

On 10 August 1933 she married Friedrich Mandl, 13 years her senior. In her autobiography Ecstasy and Me, Lamarr described Mandl as an extremely controlling man who sometimes tried to keep her shut up in their mansion.

Lamarr also wrote that fascist dictators Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler both attended Mandl's grand parties. Lamarr wrote that in 1937 that she disguised herself as one of her maids and fled to Paris, where she obtained a divorce, then moved on to London. According to another version of the episode, she persuaded Mandl to allow her to attend a party wearing all her expensive jewelry, later drugged him with the help of her maid, and made her escape out of the country with the jewelry.

In 1965 Lamarr made headlines for being arrested for shoplifting; charges were eventually dropped. This situation played out again in 1991."

Okay heard this on the radio yesterday - What part of the bathroom (when you go out) - is the dirtiest place? The floor! It has e-coli, staph, strep, rhino virus, and more! Ladies keep your purse up. The guy on the radio said how do you get germs off the floor? Are you kidding - does he have kids?

My daughter found a brochure last weekend - it advertised Paradise Valley Resort - a nude resort - sorry but yuck! Can't believe we have one here in Georgia. I mean how would you sit anywhere? Woodstock in 1969 - I remember the year - why? Because of music.

Do you know the answer to this trivia question? What Beatles film was released on August 11, 1964? I remember exactly and why do I remember? The music. It was "A hard Day's Night".

Do you remember what year The Graduate came out? I do - why - the music. 1967/68 is when I saw it. Movies were first coming out and they stayed a long, long time at the theater. I must have seen it ten times. Made me remember 1968.

Now I heard "Cullowhee" in Alaska and it will forever be associated with this summer. See the upper right for two songs.

Like Trisha Yearwood says in her song - The Song Remembers When. Music is such an integral part of my life. It is in my soul for sure. Is everyone like that or do others have different integral things? My soul is music.
