The promises you keep - will give you your reputation in life.
Someone's reputation, I believe, is what people think of you, and I'm not talking about whether you are a good or bad person. I mean your 'reputation' kind of describes your values. Actions speak louder than words.
If you keep promising things and then breaking your promises, if you keep making excuses why you didn't do certain things, if you back out of things and aren't there when you say you will be, or if you let fear be your guide - then you earn your reputation - or what other think of you.
If you keep your promises, you admit your mistakes, your open to change, if you're dependable, and courageous - then you also earn the reputation - or what others think of you.
You can talk the talk, but until you walk the walk, words don't mean too much. The only person who can make their reputation is that person themselves.
Do people care what their reputation is? Do they have different reputations to different people? Or are you what Popeye says, "I am what I am."
Just a thought for the day. Try not only to keep your soul honest to others, try to keep it honest to yourself.
