I think I've decided I'm a hippie. I missed being one the first time in the 70's. Now I can't really live like this, but part of my soul wishes I could and I certainly do understand the passion he writes about. I don't think one has to live like this 100% to experience what he's talking about either. I think you experience life in a lot of little ways so that it fits into you're overall life.
Now here is a website I found on the Blog site Vox (I didn't know another existed - did you?)
This is one older woman (? she's beautiful by the way) who I think is living the above quote. She seems to be a wild older woman. Kind of interesting. She wrote and article on guilt that will grab you and one on advice from an elder to a young person. Check her out.

The quotes and the post on guilt put me in mind of a Robin Williams quote: "You are only given a little madness, you mustn't lose it."
The longing that is On the Road - the insatiable spirit and the freedom of experiencing life so vividly seems a truly wonderful thing to me.
