Fran Drescher - The Nanny

Francine "Fran" Joy Drescher (born September 30, 1957) -The Nanny -

In January 1985, two armed robbers broke into Drescher's and Jacobson's Los Angeles apartment. While one ransacked their home, the other raped Fran and a girl friend at gunpoint.

Jacobson was also physically attacked, tied up, and forced to witness the entire ordeal. It took Fran many years to recover, and it took her even longer to admit this to the press. She was paraphrased as saying in an interview with Larry King that although it was a traumatic experience, she found ways to turn it into something positive.

In her book Cancer Schmancer, the actress writes: "My whole life has been about changing negatives into positives."

She saw her rapist, who was on parole at the time of the crime, returned to prison, sentenced to two life sentences.

Being positive is a choice - no matter what the circumstances are - she did chose to work on it - it takes time - but it will come.

I'm originally from Chicago - when my kiddies were little we used to take them to Kiddieland - my in-laws used to take them there as well - a lot of good memories were made there.

After 80 years it is closing. It was so much fun! Good memories.

This picture is 26 years old!

This was my little Kelly's first day of school in 1983 - we still know all the girls today. They are all beautiful aren't they?

Kelly looks like her favorite character - Rainbow Brite - do you remember Rainbow Brite? Kelly still has her apricot colored hair. She's the tallest one in the picture - she's 5'8" now.

This is a picture of her now - with a little one of her own. I forgot to tell you on the way home from Cullowhee we went gem mining. ANdy found lots of gems. Those are my gems.

Love, Chatty
