Maurice Chevalier - A war hero

Maurice Chevalier
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
September 12, 1888 Paris, France
Died January 1, 1972 (aged 83)Paris, France
He was a French actor, singer, and popular entertainer. Chevalier's signature songs included "Louise", "Mimi", and "Valentine".

Here is something interesting about him besides his famous name:

When World War I broke out, Chevalier was in the middle of his national service, already in the front line, where he was wounded by shrapnel in the back in the first weeks of combat and was taken as as prisoner of war in Germany for two years. In 1916, he was released through the secret intervention of Mistinguett's admirer, King Alfonso XIII of Spain, the only king of a neutral country who related to both the British and German royal families.

Now that's a hero. I never knew he had been a prisoner of war.

For today's meditation - from Leo Tolstoy - (September 9 birthday)

"If you want to be happy, be."

Is it as easy as that? If you want to be happy, be. What the heck does be mean? I'll have to meditate on that.

FYI:
I ordered something the other day called Figamajigs. I saw them on Hungry Girl. They are dark chocolate covered low fat figs. Healthy candy? Mel Lefer had a heart attack in 1985 at age 53 and changed his lifestyle drastically. Now he is out to make healthy candy. Got them today and I must say they are yummy. Comes in small individual packs. www.figamajigs.com/

Have a great day.

Your meditation for the day is easy peasy. If you want to be happy, BE! I guess you have permission, now, don't you?!? (It didn't say... "DON'T BE", did it?)
