"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.” Jill Savage

I've been talking you to death this week - here's a short one . . .

Get on the Hope Train!

“Hope is always available to us. When we feel defeated, we need only take a deep breath and say, "Yes," and hope will reappear.” —Monroe Forester

This is a question asked to California 9th graders to write about:

If you were helping to raise money for a charity and someone agreed to make a large contribution if you would perform at the upcoming fund raising show, would you?

If so what would you like to perform? Assume the show would have an audience of about 1,000 people.

I would, but I would be like Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality - playing the glass cup rims!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Elizabeth Blackwell (February 3, 1821 – May 31, 1910) was the first female doctor in the United States. She was the first openly identified woman to graduate from medical school (M.D.), a pioneer in educating women in medicine, and was prominent in the emerging women's rights movement.

Perform in front of people?? Hmmm, maybe if I lost 500 lbs. or 1000. Oh yeah and I'd have to have a talent...how about you play the glass rim cups and I'll play the bells or twirl the baton ~ and we can both wish for "world peace". OK, now I want to watch that movie. I "HOPE" you have a good day ~ ♥

Oh, Sandie, I love the hope train. Think I'll jump right on.Chooo wooooo. Well, to answer your question, yeah, I'd perform for charity. Even though I'm not an expert, I'd play my banjo. Last year, one of my resolutions was to learn to play the banjo and I did. hee hee Have a great day! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

I first thought when I saw the phot was there is always light at the end of the tunnel. So true huh?

Well Sandie, when I was in the 9th grade I had a lot of different talents that I could have done way back in the day! lol I could have played the piano, played the flute or twirled the baton and even dance! lol Not sure what my talent would be today.

Hugs,
Angela

I love this post. Hope is such a key word for my personal existence. It definitely gets me through lots of rough times! I would make my Granddaughters do tricks! ha

hope is sooo essential for life, don't you think? read somewhere that if a person loses hope that sometimes shortens their life

I get stage fright really easily, but for a good cause, I might perform. I think I would have to dress up and do a mime type of performance since I would probably stumble over my words if I tried to sing or recite a poem

So far we have a rim glass player, bell player, banjo player, juggler of eggs, a flute player, and granddaughter's tricks - wouldn't that be a fun show?
