How to lick a bowl . . .

HOW TO LICK A BOWL

Okay why the demonstration for how to lick a bowl - besides it being very very cute and a good way to start the hump day - to me - this is a demonstration of how to really get involved in what you're doing - to not worry what others think - and to really enjoy the moment.

Old Chatty wants to do and be that way sometimes - but it's hard to just 'let go' for me at times. Have you ever just wanted to let loose and do something with all your heart, soul, and mind? Sometimes I envision myself in that bowl - all covered with icing and having the time of my life.

Okay - I'm a bit colorful and irregular - but do you get what I was saying - do you feel it - do you understand - or is it just me?

Georgia rarely gets snow. This is the second big snow of the season and we've seen snow flakes on many other days! Our temperatures are ten degrees below normal. We are not have global warming here this year and personally I don't believe this is global warming - do you?

Anyway we had two feet of snow fall yesterday in good old Atlanta!

Well, it felt that way - anyway it is almost gone today. The kids were let out two hours early yesterday and went in two hours later today - that's why I'm late with 'me' blog! I'm discombobulated! Maybe that is what is going on with my head today. lol

Another thing of interest to me is buying American Made Products. I am not saying that I buy all American made products - I wish I could, but some times there aren't any and sometimes they are just more expensive. And sometimes foreign products are a little better.

I try and the following is true and I'd share this information with you.

Is it made in America? Ever wonder when buying a product of any kind well if the bar code begins with a "0" then it is made in America or Canada.

How to read Bar Codes!

GREAT WAY TO "BUY USA and CANADA products

This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.

Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China?

If the first 3 digits of the bar code are 690, 691 or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA .

471 is Made in Taiwan.

This is our right to know. Sometimes they don't put the country on there anymore.

However, you may now refer to the bar code, remember if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA .
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 ... FRANCE
40 - 44 ... GERMANY
47 ... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK

BUY USA and CANADIAN made by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number.

Happy Birthday to Alexander Graham Bell and what a fitting quote for today's blog:

Leave the beaten track behind occasionally and dive into the woods. Every time you do you will be certain to find something you have never seen before.

Girl, not only do you not ramble on, you are a wealth of information! I am loving the bar code information, where did you find this out??? Can I blog about this too...it's too good not to share! I love buying American when I can afford it and sometimes when I can't, but I never knew about this. You have such a great blog. I have one subject that rattles around in my old brain each post but yours is Christmas everyday! Love it!

I am laughing at the two feet...very clever there girlfriend:) Now the bar code info is interesting. I am sure I will forget like last week when buying bread I had no idea what the color blue was for? Was is M or Th or Friday? I did try on a pair of jeans last week and loved the fit and the price but when I saw they were made in Vietnam I put them back. OK so call me crazy but I just thought I could not possible buy one more item from another country. Needless to say I still have no jeans! Sad but the garment district in NY is almost non existent these days. Just saw a documentary on cable last month about how all the rag trade jobs are sourced out for a less money. Wonder if Obama or anyone else in our government plans to bring back these jobs?

Hi Sandie! Thanks for a very information-filled post! I never knew any of that. By the way, where oh WHERE do you find photos like the one of the two snowy feet? You are just amazing! Take care. Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

Great Post Sandie. Foodmiles are important, buy local is always best. The food is fresher having be brought straight from the farm to your local shop. Keeps local people employed too. I feel for our farmers cause they can supply, but goverments like here in OZ rather bring in beef from US while we have plenty of good beef here. Go figure!!! Oranges get dumped to bring in oranges from overseas? Something is wrong with that don't you think?

Love the bar code info. Hubby and I always look all over a package to find where the product is made before buying. And it is not always obvious when you leave the reading glasses at home!

Hey Sandie!

We couldn't be in Global Warming! lol We keep getting snow too! We had a light dusting again this morning! Supposed to be near 50 this weekend! Yeah! It will feel like 70's for as cold as it has been here.

I will remember the bar code thing as I am trying to buy only things made in the USA!

Hugs,
Angela

Hey Sandie. Thanks for stopping by the mansion. I have been out of the loop for a while. Between the holidays, our littlest one with cleft issues, and lots of other things....I kinda felt like I was drowning in "the bowl." I sure hope to be able to post a bit more frequently now. Love the info on the barcode. My littlest son is from China, I need to make him a barcode shirt that starts with the China number...ha. Have a wonderful and blessed second half of the week. Laura

Chatty -- that bar code information was interesting. Where did you find it? I started to print it out, then I remembered we don't have our printer hooked up yet in our new little house (LOL). Would be a good paragraph to stash in my billfold though.

that dog looked so cute licking that bowl; he did seem to enjoy himself immensely

nope, I don't believe in global warming either, though loved your two feet of snow, LOL

sure glad Alexander Graham Bell invented the phone, I wonder how surprised he would be with how far that phone has gone and the whole concept of cell phones

What a cool lesson you taught... very good to remember about jumping in and enjoying life when the good times come around!

The bar code info was very interesting too. Mike checked his Sobe bottle and it said it was made in Connecticut and started with a 39 which is between the numbers you listed for France and Germany, so maybe some of the other numbers between those numbers you shared are also from the US?
