Sunday's Gift

“The soul was never put in the body to stand still.”

Hayley Mills - Happy Birthday - Wikipedia

While filming The Family Way, a 20-year-old Mills met 53-year-old director Roy Boulting. The two married in 1971, and owned an apartment in London's Kensington. They then went on to purchase Cobstone Windmill in Ibstone, Buckinghamshire. The couple divorced in 1977. They had one child, Crispian Mills, who became famous in the 1990s as the lead singer and guitarist for the psychedelic rock band Kula Shaker. She currently lives in New York City.

Mills has had involvement with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (the "Hare Krishna" movement). She composed the preface to the book The Hare Krishna Book of Vegetarian Cooking, published in 1984.

Who knew that?

Holy Smokes, Sandie. Ol' Haley married a guy a LOT older than her. I didn't know that. Sandie, do you do your blog's banner? It's very nice! How do you know how to do it? So happy you are going to participate in the Giveaway coming up on my 200th post! Take care and have a super Sunday. Sincerely, Susan

Good mornin Sandie, I love your little picture and saying, it is so true.
I never was a fan of Haley, I did know she was involved with the group. Never understood why she would marry a man old enough to be her grandfather....when he turned 60 and she was only 27 she bolted from the marriage...wonder why her son has her last name instead of his father's...never will understand the celeberties mind.
Hope you have a great week end.
Molly

I didn't know that about Haley Mills either. I can't imagine being married to someone that much older or younger. Not saying it is wrong for someone else, but I would guess generational references and differences would be awkward for me.

And I hope she had a wonderful birthday. We all loved her in Pollyanna and The Parent Trap but my favorite (and my granddaughters too) is The Trouble With Angels. I bought it a couple of years ago and I watch it all the time!

Well how odd, that she chose to live like that at such a young age. She must have been escaping from something...or something!
Wonder if she ever handed out yellow flowers at airports like they all did during the 70's.
Ugh!

That is so interesting Sandie!

When I was in the 9th grade we went on a field trip to the Temple of Gold and seen the Hare Krishnas! lol It was scary! Pretty though with all of that gold. I had pictures but I don't know where they are. Haven't seen them in years.

Hugs,
Angela

I love your banner, too! It is so beautiful. That was interesting about Hayley Mills. I remember her as a child in several things.

I didn't know that but so many of the ones we love fall into obscurity and we have to depend on smarties like you to keep us on our toes. Thank you for doing that by the way. Hugs, Mollye
