Riverdance
Angela at West Virginia Treasures is having her weekly Show and Tail-
She hopes that everyone will join her every Tuesday to post a picture of two of your pets, wildlife, visits to the zoo, or animal story and tell a little about them!
Tuesdays' Show & Tail is about having fun, and giving us a chance to meet other animal lovers in the blogging community. If you are visiting and would like to join in on the fun, please do so! Everyone is welcome. It is very easy to do.
Happy Birthday Audrey Hepburn:
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed: never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
And Maya Angelou:
Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Maya Angelou
And I think they both are phenomenal women!

Yes and so are you dear Sandie. I love Audrey Hepburn! Such a wonderful lady.
Loved the seal video!! Yes, Audrey was such a beautiful lady wasn't she. And the writings of Maya Angelou so poignant!
Great video! I am in awe of Audrey, such a lady in every way.
I love the Phenomenal Woman poem!
I agree with the comments about both birthday women. Too bad I look more like the new Riverdance performer than Audrey Hepburn. ;-)
How great are these two poems! Fabulous. I've read and heard Audrey Hepburn's before (but can never read it too often). And though I love Maya Angelou I did not know this poem. Thank you so much. It really is phenomenal!!
Terrific post.
Just went back to watch the Riverdance video. So funny. How on earth do you find this great stuff? I'm so impressed!
Sandie, I love love love the first poem. You're amazing with your knack for finding "who'd a thunk it facts".

Hey Sandie!
That is just too funny to see someone dancing with a seal! lol I've seen people dance with dogs but I don't think I've seen a seal.
Love Audrey. I had even thought of naming my son that if he were a girl!
Thanks for sharing!
