Monday Musings - Cincinnati . . .

I'm way behind in answering emails and checking blogs, that's my goal for the week - I may not answer everyone, but I will try to read them.

I had a huge blessing last week - I went to Cincinnati - experienced a wintry mix, extreme wind chill, and COLD weather - I have to say I don't MISS that cold weather at all, the good thing was that I did get to see my new grandson and my son - actually we all went and had Thanksgiving dinner together. My DIL's father was there helping her out as her mother was sick and he ordered a great dinner from the Fresh Market. So he heated it up and I did the dishes. We didn't even decide to come Thursday until Wednesday - originally we were coming Friday - but we made it.

For me, it was wonderful. I'm having knee replacement surgery on 12/20/10 (and I'll really get behind for a couple of weeks then - so bare with me then too please). I figured it might be awhile before we could all get together again, therefore we really made an effort to get there.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

This quote I received was quite an interesting God Wink - I don't think you can worry about what happened and what will happen in the future - I mean I guess you can - but there is a price to pay for that type of thinking. I think if you can - try to enjoy the moment you're in - I learned a lot of things this trip about my family. I'm digesting all the information...

Here is a web album - hope you enjoy.

This is one of my favorite quotes - makes you think.

To live only for some future goal is shallow. It's the sides of the mountain that sustain life, not the top.- Robert M. Pirsig

Okay - now on to emails and blogs - teehee. I've missed everyone.
Love,
Chatty

I'm glad you had time with family and the new grand baby! I wish you all the best for a smoothkKnee replacement surgery. Did you do the pre-op work yet? It'll be a nice Christmas gift to have a good knee. I have several neighbors who had it done, one of them had both done at the same time, and she thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread ;-)
Just don't be afraid and keep a positive attitude towards your surgery and it'll go much, much better.

Maybe while you're recuperating, you'll get some more computing time in. I know you enjoy that ;-)

Love,
Doris and Gizzy (hugs)

Glad you had a wonderful trip/time, Sandie!! Don't worry about getting behind on blog reading, etc. Just start anew this week (same with when you have your surgery)!

I liked the idea of getting the meal from Fresh Market! That saved a lot of stress I'm sure for all and made the time together very enjoyable!!

"God wink", I love it, and the best God wink ever is a grandbaby. So glad you got to see yours.
You can keep the cold! I do not like winter either.

I looked at all the pictures and they are relly great! The older man is your DIL's father, right? And that's you in the black? What a precious adorable baby!! So glad you got to be there before the surgery...now you are making me curious about what all you mentioned that you had learned, though!

I'm catching up, too!

I've MISSED you!!

Loved the pictures, Sandie! Is there anything quite so wonderful as a newborn baby sleeping? God is so good!

What fun...

The quote was really good. I'm so bad at "living in this moment" - I'm usually looking backward in regret, or forward in worry! What a waste of time!! Lord, teach me to live TODAY - to be glad and rejoice in it!!

GOD BLESS, Sandie - don't worry about keeping in touch when the knee surgery happens! I'll "bear" with you through anything!

Sweet sweet pictures. I love the one of the dad's hand on the baby's head - such a size difference. Glad you're home safely. Keep us posted on the surgery. I'm in line for the same thing in a year or two.

Remember not to overdo when you are resting up from your surgery. It's too easy to think "oh, I can do THAT", when you really should not be doing much of anything! Follow doctor's orders, okay??? **hugs**
