Hi Sandie, great post..the last cartoon, so true unfortunately. Since when was saying Merry Christmas a cardinal sin?? the wants of a few dictate many..something wrong with that..

That last cartoon is SO true... it is really sad. At the governor's capitol here in WA state, there is a struggle going on because atheists keep protesting Christmas Trees in the capitol. Last year, or the year before... these atheists put up a huge sign in front of the Christmas tree denouncing God, because of these atheist's beliefs. There was a protest over a Christmas Tree! How sad is that.

Thank you so much for that animated Christmas card. I just LOVED it. Can you give me that link and are there more? I want one like that for my blog. It's adorable!

Talk with you later, my friend.

Years ago I worked for a Jewish doctor. Their were decorations in the waiting room for both Christian and Jewish holidays. Patients and staff greeted one another with both greetings and no one was ever offended. Why would anyone take offense to something said offered in good spirit? I don't know if "Happy Kwanzaa" is ever said, but if it were wished to me, I would smile and return good greetings.

Along the lines what we're discussing about the cartoons,I have a friend who is taking things too far in my opinion. She now objects to "Happy Holidays" because it doesn't specifically mention Christmas. I have said Happy Holidays for years, both to cover Christmas and New Years and to greet those who may not be of Christian faith. I don't exclusively use this phrase, I often say Merry Christmas. I can't say that I ponder this before speaking (the story of my life..not thinking before speaking? ;) )and part of the reason I like Happy Holidays is that I like alliteration.

Good luck with your tests!

That was a lovely card, Sandie. I thought it was one by Jackie Lawson. By the way, when is your surgery? For your knee, right? Oh, God bless you, Sandie. Hope it's a speedy recovery. Hugs. Susan

Awww, thanks for the sweet Christmas card! I love the little mice helping out! I think I will let Ella do this when she wakes up from her nap! Love the first quote best, about resting between two deep breaths. Hope all your tests go well, get yourself a treat after, maybe hot chocolate with extra marshmwllows or latte.

loved the polar bears and texting and enjoyed making my snowman in that card! I'm with you; I'm not sending out cards this year, I like getting them, but trying to simplify things a bit this year!

Here, I went and almost forgot about your upcomingsurgery ... I'm sorry!
Hmmmm, wouldn't it be fun to RE-invent the tooth-fairy game for other body parts? What-cha suppose a knee might bring? :)

I enjoyed the entire post. That last comic spoke volumes, didn't it? So far, the school where I teach hasn't been hit with that, but I'm just waiting.

And I LOVED the final quote. That one is a keeper!
