Saturday Meditations - something to think about . . .

CHATTY CHATTING AT HER GRANDSON'S CHRISTMAS PARTY - I was as bad as the kids!

"He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree."
- Roy L. Smith

Cherished Friends:

God must have know there would be times we'd need a word of cheer,
Someone to praise a triumph or brush away a tear.
He must have known we'd need to share the joy of "little things"
In order to appreciate the happiness life brings.
I think He knew our troubled hearts would sometimes throb with pain,
At trials and misfortunes, or goals we can't attain.
He knew we'd need the comfort of an understanding heart
To give us strength and courage to make a fresh, new start.
He knew we'd need companionship, unselfish....lasting....true,
And so God answered the heart's great need
with Cherished Friends....like all of you!!

And of course, this is from Jerry!:

It's a romantic full moon, when Pedro said, "Hey, mamacita, let's do Weeweechu."

Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.

Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.

"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied Rosita.

Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."

Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do Weeweechu."

Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang.....

"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Love, Chatty

Linda wanted to 'see' my tree. My mom - was the best crafter I have ever known. She did everything by hand and it was all tiny hand and bead work. So many things remind me of her.

She made the tennis player after my daughter and the girl with red hair - my daughter has red hair!

The three bears.

The ceramic was made by me when I was little (no talent like my mom).

A football player for my son who played football.

So if it was made by my mom, has red it in, something that reminds me of my kids or GS, it is on my tree!! My tree is prelite - and turns.
I have red bows and red birds and white flowers dispersed around. Southern style.

And the angel - my mom.

Okay in this picture I realize everything in the room is crooked. This is my life in a nutshell! teehee

I love the tree and your mom's ornaments. My auntie Ang was a talented girl too. She had such terrible pain from arthritis in her old age and she still hand beaded each orn and made the most delightful tree skirts. Mine was damaged by a pet we had and I am so sad. I wish I could replace it. Sandie, I have missed visiting with you. I am coming over to catch up! Love to you and your this Merry CHRITmas season! ANNE

I love your tree, Sandie...so much to see on there and it turns too, wow!

I never knew your daughter had red hair ... it looks blonde to me ;-) (must be her secret?)

I really love that saying by Roy L. Smith because you won't find Christmas under the tree!

Have a great Saturday - I'm off to call my mother in Germany!

Love you!

Hey Sandie!

Beautiful tree! Your mom sure was a talented crafter for sure! I'm not sure if I could make those sweet ornaments. Those are real treasures!

Merry Christmas!

I love all those ornaments! She did some really beautiful stuff. And I love that you have them year after year. I really cherish the ornaments I inherited from my grandparents :-) Such a joy each year (slightly bittersweet, but mostly just sweet) to open that box!

I love your tree, it is my kind of tree, not the cold cookie cutter kind, the "in" style must have kind, everyone is running around trying to find, it is filled with love and memories, the best kind.
I hope you have a wonderful week-end filled with love and joy.
Will continue to pray for you and your up coming surgery.
Molly

You definitely have Christmas in YOUR heart! I love the tree, Kiddo! And don't you worry, life is NOT supposed to be straight! Think of how boring that would be! When you come to the Hollow, you'll see in the living room, I can't quite figure out if the window is crooked, the trim is crooked, or it could be the curtain rod..oh well...hugs...:)JP

Great tree, Sandie. Lovely. Isn't it wonderful we have turning stands? It makes the tree look even more beautiful, I think.

Thanks for posting photos of the party! Take care and have a wonderful night. Susan

Beautiful tree! Loved all the ornaments your mom made, my mom made a lot too with beads and felt ornaments, so fun to take them out and see them and remember our moms, right?

hope you had a good day; seems like it was going to be a busy one!

You can't beat a tree that's full of memories of days and people gone by. Who wants those dreaded designer trees with baubles that look so cold and modern, and yuk...perfect? Family hands that have crafted the ornaments are absolute treasures to pass down with the stories of how they came to be attached!
Yours, is such a tree. Lovely!

Oh, I totally agree with CorgiDog Mama's sentiments ... unfortunately, my parent's ornaments were lost/destroyed in Florida ... my heart's just not "in it", having to shop for replacements!
...Meanwhile, I'll enjoy yours from afar!

PS - I think that pix of ya'all at Andy's Christmas party is practically crying for a caption contest :) We're all supposed to be kids at Christmas ... aren't we?

Your mom's handiwork is such a treasure! Oh how blessed you are to have such sentimental keepsakes.

I love a tree that has so many memories and handcrafted treasures! Ours has things made by hubby's mom when he was a baby, some made by me, and some were gifts, some are treasures we bought when on a trip - all have special meanings. It's wonderful!

I LOVE your tree! It's so red and festive and full. Mine always looks empty no matter how much I add (and add and add)

Love those hand made PERSONALIZED ornaments.

Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Cathy!

That's my kind of Christmas tree. I love Christmas trees that are more about memories and families than the 'do not touch' designer ones.

I love all your pretty ornaments, Sandie! It's so nice to have the sentimental ornaments that bring back lots of good memories. ♥

How precious, Sandie. Your mom was quite talented - and what a sweet reminder of the love she showed by making these quaint ornaments!

I kinda liked the crooked room photo - your "crookedness" is one of the things I like best about you!

I've never been a big fan of egg nog - and this cartoon was enough to make me NEVER drink it again!! Maybe I'll just copy the cow - straight alcohol, right from the bottle!

Thanks for the cherished friends poem. I feel the same way - you are an answer to prayer! Awww...

GOD BLESS!

Your tree is sooooo special...just like YOU! I lost alot of my treasured handmade ornaments when we had a fire in the house in 95.Although some of them were full of soot I kept them in a sealed bag as they smell of smoke! Butthe memories are forever in my heart!
