Thursday - inspirations . . .

Yesterday I had the privilege of taking a tour at the Governor's Mansion with a couple friends and some Atlanta Bloggers. We had a great time (as usual - they are a fabulous bunch of gals).
This is the mansion our governor of Georgia lives in. It is in Atlanta on West Paces Ferry Road. And the outside is gorgeous and so is the inside.

This was in his informal dining room - I believe. Joyce of Flour Power got us reservations.

Linda at A La Carte was another cohort in crime this day. Long story, but to try to shorten it - she went with downtown with me after lunch, to pick up an umbrella I had left at JoJoJoys house months ago and she works downtown so we went to get it from her. We were at 14th street and West Peachtree - a one way street.
We over shot the goal - I waited until there was no traffic and backed up on a one way street. We have visions of police coming to arrest us - but thank God we were safe.

This is the governor's chef - she had made 18,000 cookies! The girl talking to her is Cheri at Chez Cheri.
Rose from Santa Maker was there. As well as our friend Denise (no blog).

They offered us cookies. Sue ended up sick today and we wish her well. And Cheryl - whom I picked up the umbrella from had to work. We missed you both.

And lovely Susan from Naps on the Porch came too - and we talked her ear off asking her to tell us her story!

This was the end of the tour and then we went to lunch and exchanged ornaments. I got a love teapot - how fitting for our group as we all love tea. Thanks Denise and for the chocolate covered pretzels! Already gone.

Sigh...Only one thing I really wish for...that I could have come too! Sounds like you all had so much fun! Not quite sure us folks in Illinois want to talk much about our Govs. but that is a whole other story! I'm in the mood now to bake....hmmm...do you think that everbody here would like brownies for dinner?

Wow, did you get pictures of more rooms? If that's the informal dining room, then I'd love to see the formal one! Those banisters are really something! I would love to do something like this! Wonder if the govenor of Virginia does this?

Sandie we did have such a good time...lol...even backing up a one way street...at least I did the 'Beeeeep-Beeeeep-Beeeep' sound so everyone would know. We Atlanta bloggers know how to have a good time.

Ha! You got me at the end.

This sounds like a wonderful time! I have toured the Governor's mansion a few times. It's lovely.

What made your tour so special was the special friends along. How cool that the Gov's house was full of several of my favorite bloggers at the same time.

What a fun tour! How great is it that you get to know fellow-bloggers and be real-life friends? I'm envious.

Your pictures are great -- it's a lovely mansion.

When we were in Atlanta (at least 5 years ago), we got all mixed up with all the Peachtrees! Bill usually has a great sense of direction, but that City defeated him. (I'm always lost!)_

NO SANTA?! I'm shattered.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the Mansion! I'm jealous - several of my favorite bloggers are from Georgia. I feel left out here on the west coast. Could we set up an annual thing - I'd fly out!!

Thanks for a fun post -

Had one comment on your ending - I'll email it to you...

I wish I was in the car with you and Linda...I would have been laughing. Sorry but I would have. Usually it is Sue and Joyce who get in trouble...are you two giving them a break? You gals are a hoot.
