Wednesday - Is Hump Day!

Be nice to others because . ..

Time WILL make a difference!

One day you will no longer be the big dog...

Just the old dog...

And my friend, we are now the old dogs

HOWEVER, OLD DOG IS BETTER THAN DOG-GONE.
(Well you gotta think positive about age don't you?)

I've been thinkin' which is dangerous in itself - about growing old. I'm not going to get negative here, but old age isn't for sissies is it?

I mean it's tough and it's rough. Right?

Nothing works like it used to and we all know the ending. (Okay the final ending won't be bad at all - it is the getting there may be tough.) Hey I'm realistic.

I want to know who in the heck coined these the Golden Years anyway?

Now there are some perks to it too, but I have forgotten now - oh yeah - one is 'more patience' - and the other is 'things don't bother us as much' - anything else?

"The highest reward for person's toil is not what they get for it, but what they become by it." ~ John Ruskin

The reason I picked this quote is - because toils changes us to the final product. Our work here now - lays what we become then . . . you know what I mean? Life is hard work and we have to run the good race. (Had some stresses of my own today - can you tell? lol)

Okay now for some fun -

Doris

is a good friend of mine from Blogland - she crochets beautiful items. She lives here in Georgia, but she is from Germany - with a beautiful German accent and a real zest for life! She is so much fun. Check her out. She has a monthly winner and finally, finally I WON! This is beautiful stuff. I am blessed.

OKAY - HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN THERE HAS BEEN ENOUGH SNOW?

Love, chatty

I'm glad you like your gifts. I posted my February Giveaway today and it's different than most because it does not include any of my crocheted items -so, maybe, some folks will actually play this time LOL

I hope you are doing well today, Sandie, and I'm going to take a nap (yep, speaking of old age) - but it has its privileges and I'm going to take fully advantage of my privilege to take an afternoon nap!

Love you,
Doris and Gizzy (hugs)

Loved the snow photos! I have been trying to think of the advantages of getting older as well (I will be 64 in April) - will probably write about it in a future post actually. At least you've still got a terrific sense of humour, and that's half the battle!

Funny snow creatures! I won Doris' Christmas giveaway, and was so glad to hear that you won this one!! Did you know she has a new, second blog? Oh, I think you've had a really bad day, did you have P.T. today? Did it go worse than usual? Phooey on the Golden Years, these are the Rust Years, but you know that rust NEVER sleeps, my friend!!

Getting older sucks, but it beats the alternative! The snow pictures make me giggle.

Those snow sculptures are so clever .... one of my fav memories from childhood was building snow people. Not very clever, but so much fun!
... and how come I don't remember ever being cold, even w/o a jacket? Nowadays, I go running for a sweater when the temp drops below 70! Geesh!

Loved the fun snow stuff!! I think I liked the recliner and TV one the best.

I can think of another perk - I really think we APPRECIATE the small, simple things in life A LOT more than the younger generation! We're just happy to be here to enjoy them...

Loved the Ruskin quote. Kinda reminded me of something I think about a lot - it isn't what God wants me to do for Him, it's what He wants me to BE.

And...though I said that nice comment above about getting older - the truth is...YES! It isn't for sissies - and a lot of it really stinks - like gravity's effects and wrinkles. And bad eyes, and sore knees (oh...sorry about that one!) - but, it sure is fun getting those senior discounts!!

xoxo

The first time I can recall ever hearing of Wednesday being referred to as being, "Hump Day," was when a fairly attractive secretary of a company that I was working for years ago said it when she sat down across from me at a table during a break time. Since she was looking right at me when she said it, and I did not know what she was really talking about, my face lit-up like Rudolph's nose on Christmas Eve, much to the delight of the others sitting at the table.
