Saturday - Something to think about . . . .

Here Are Some Interesting Anecdotes .. ..

If you are right handed, you will tend to chew your food on the right side of your mouth. If you are left handed, you will tend to chew your food on the left side of your mouth.

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Not let me tell you a little story about Hot Chocolate.

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives.

Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups -porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said: "Notice that all the nice looking; expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each others cups.

Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life.

The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us. God makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything that they have.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. And enjoy your hot chocolate!!!

Love, Chatty

How funny. As I was reading this I was eating chips and chewing on the left side of the mouth - but I am right handed. I've never thought about it before - one way or another.

Sandie where do you find all these amazing things? I love this story. It has a wonderful story to tell. I do eat left sided! Guess what hand I write with! Hee Hee! But left handers make better multi taskers and boy can I multi task! Now if the Sweets stops acting like a Marine Drill Sgt. we may get this house cleaned! Hee Hee

That's probably one of the best lessons I've heard, and I agree...

'The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything that they have.'

My grandmother was a case in point. I've always tried to follow her exmaple, and when I do, I find I'm happiest.

Thanks, Sandie!

XO,

Sheila :-)

You know I must be both right and left handed! I do write with my right hand but I chew on my left side the most. I also am left handed when I use a bow and my BB gun!

Hugs,
Angela

Fantastic!!! You know, I *might* be grabbing the prettiest cup, or I *might* be grabbing the BIGGEST one. Either way, I fall quite the victim to that professor's analogy.

The old professor shared some wise chocolate-y words.

If you were here, Sandie. I'd make us both a cup of hot chocolate and then we'd have a toast, clicking our cups to friendship. That was a great analogy. Susan

... and yes, come to think of it, I DO chew on the left side of my mouth!

I'm going to have to pay attention to the chewing thing - my husband, a leftie, says it's true for him.

Loved this story - really loved it. Yes, it's all too human to look at the "outside" - while neglecting to concentrate on the "inside" - that's where God is doing His work if we let Him.

I want to be the best-tasting hot chocolate ever!! Even if I'm only in a Dixie cup!!

Such a great lesson for us all to remember! I'm right handed and chew on that side of my mouth, too. How interesting. :)
