Grandchildren

Okay, this is MY new little grandson who lives far far away from grandma. I decided the first year that I’d have to come see him every two months so that he will know who I am! And I did it! I am pretty sure he knows that I am someone that is regular in his life.

Gosh I hate that he has to live 450 miles away. My son is good though – we do Skype every weekend – he thinks I’m grandma in the box. Teehee

It is feeding time – his mom is extremely health conscious – he got Greek yogurt and a banana. The kids said that when he learns about fast foods and sugar it will be from someone else - not them – were they hinting it would be me?

To tell you the truth – I shouldn’t ever give him candy – but I think not giving him treats ever will be hard – I am only a human grandma!

He crawls and then sits up – he always puts his leg out – so cute!

And here is old grandpa trying to teach him to stand up. He’s ten months old – it’s time – right – teehee. He wasn’t too sure about it.

Well he says as long as I’m up I want to go over there by everyone’s drinks!

Grandma – do you see that speck of lint – I want that ! It looks so interesting!

Now an interesting fact on this grandchild is he really likes his toes and they can do just about anything his fingers can do! He's getting his Webbles Can Wobble But They Can't Fall Down....

Here we are at the task of grandma filling up the bucket with blocks and when she is done the grandson spills them out on purpose and laughs at me!!!!!!!

He is trying to put the Webbles up on the couch. Did you notice his natural Mohawk?

The kids took us out to dinner to a real English or Irish pub – neither hubby or I can remember – teehee – but this guy was a cutie in his kilt! I had fish and chips and it was yummy!

My son and his son!

Thanks friends for taking the time and letting me share and brag a little bit. I appreciate it!.

What a wonderful trip and 450 miles is long trip but you have done it...I am sure that he knows grandma. We had the same thing when the kids lived on the West coast and Skype is great. I am just so glad that they have moved East.

Your grandson is so handsome! Beth is sad some days because she lives far away from Bailey and Trevor....but when we all get together she makes up for it! Mike tells her it's exciting like when the circus comes to town....ha ha!

Wonderful photos of that gorgeous little grandson of yours! So pleased that you got to visit with him. As you say, 450 miles is too far. Perhaps one day they might move a little closer to you. That would be good, but I think you are so right, we HAVE to make the effort to be a part of their lives, so that he will know that you are his grandma. You're very proud of him, and quite rightly so my friend. Gosh, my daughters used to have those Weebles (Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down) and they used to love them. We don't see them over here any more.

Do what I do. Buy the Yummy Earth organic no sugar added lollipops. Guilt free and with flavors like Mango Tango and Too Berry Blueberry they are so seriously tasty!

I'm a bad influence, aren't I? ;-)

Aw, Sandie. I've been to MD five times in the past 6 months! I'm not supposed to see her until the end of October this time but it is HARD! I miss her so much! She loves her toes, too!

Thanks for sharing the photos! cute! xo, Cheryl

What a cutie pie... He's gorgeous, Sandie. Glad you can see him as often as possible. Maybe they can come to you more often also...

One thing about being Grammy... We can do anything we want to when they are with us... We can spoil them all we want to --and then send them HOME... ha ha

Your GS is just adorable, Sandie. So glad you could visit. I'm sure he knows who you are!
I remember having Weeble Wobbles.
Katie had a natural mohawk too. :) It's only the second day of school and we had to close early because of all the rain and flooded roads! Sure wish I could send it to Texas!
Hope you're having a great week.

What adorable pictures! Your son and grandson are both beautiful!! Ella picks up things with her toes all the time, I'm doing a post on it!! I used to, but now I get a cramp in my foot if I do! I am so jealous now, seeing you on the FLOOR with your grandbaby!!! That is something I have always wished I could do. If I get down I can't get up. The kids always want to know why I can't get down to their level, and why I can't go up the steps.

Love those big brown eyes. He's adorable. Wow...that's quite a drive to get there. It's an all day trip. Don't worry...there's sugarless candy! I remember my kids picking up pieces of lint and eating it.

I'm in love with those BIG brown eyes!!! ... So sorry to learn you had a horrendous trip home. I guess this is what you call a labor of love? Worth every minute!

He's so cute Sandie! I like what Lisa said about the organic lollipops! hehehe I'm sure they will lighten up when he gets just a little older. I know I said that about my kids but they eat candy all the time! lol

He's so cute! Is he sleeping better these days? Can't believe he'll be a year old in November that is just around the corner! I like how you made the effort to see him every two months, Sandie! Too bad they live so far away! I think it is good that they are feeding him healthy foods; I was at the gym the other day and the report on the news said never to introduce soda to kids, I thought that was a wise thing (of course they will end up getting it over friends house, but you know what I mean, when you still have control over them in their young ages)

Thank goodness I happened to notice that I had missed this. I enjoyed every single picture. I remember when he was born! He looked just like his dad, as I recall.

He's still adorable, and you are very adorable as you talk about him.

SKYPE might possibly be the best grandparent invention ever.

I know you want to get your hands on that baby. All of my family, grandsons too, live about 1000 miles from this Nana and Pa. We do as much as possible but it's not the same ans hugs and kisses.

Did ya get the Bangers and Mash? It's my husband's favorite. I like Shepard's Pie.

Brag as much as you like. He is adorable and I enjoyed seeing the pictures. I am sure you had a wonderful time!

What precious memories! He is adorable! And I'm sure that he'll know you. I didn't see my mom's parents nearly as often as I did my dad's - but because of who they were, I was very much closer to them.

I think you were probably at an Irish pub - don't think the English wear kilts, just sayin'... :) hee, hee...
