Okay you have been mooned - you have to pass it along! Sorry but I just couldn't help it.
I received an award yesterday from Rhonda at The Joy of Denim and Lace.
Check Rhonda out! She's a faithful Christian Blogger. This is what she wrote about the gal who gave her the award:
"She gives so much encouragement and honesty on her blog pages, sharing her victories and struggles: A kindness and sweetness that will addict you to her, chocolate has nothing on her: Once you taste of her you will discover a new understanding of " A Sister in the Lord".
I think she described herself too! A happy, positive, Christian.
I'm to reveal seven things about me - I think everyone knows me pretty well, but let's see.
1. I am a Christian.
2. I believe that the gratitude journal that I have kept for some 20 years now - changed my life for the better. I believe it changed me.
3. I believe you can be a happy Christian. Not 100% of the time, but a lot of the time.
4. I believe what we do is a personal choice. I think we have more choice then we let ourself believe.
5. I love to laugh and to make other laugh and feel good. :) It makes me feel good to make others feel good.
6. I have my down times too. I feel it. I deal with it. Then I decide to let it go. And move on.
7. I can't sing, dance, draw, not a photographer of any sort, no artsy crafty ability at all (!) - that's why I enjoy blogs with eye candy - photographs, artwork, flowers, animals, skies, pretty table scapes - every thing that is so pretty. I just love to look at them. That makes me feel good too.
I'm supposed to pick five people to give these to. I'm always uncomfortable with picking so what I do is I give it to the last five followers. That way I can find out more about them too! I love learning about new people too! And THANK YOU for following me!
Thought for the day:
Every man has three characters: that which he shows, that which he has, and that which he thinks he has. -Alphonse Karr
Just for the heck of it - how about everyone leave in their comment - something about yourself or your belief - I would love to know more about everyone!

That was a great post! I love learning more about my friends. So you want me to tell you something about myself....I am a very blessed dog....I love to make others happy....I enjoy (LOVE) football....and I am so happy to have so many great friends in Blogland!
Congrats on your award! I love your blog.
I was a Christian in name only until 12 years ago when God finally got my attention by bringing me down. Now, I give thanks every day and night for all He has given me thru His grace.
How cool that your gratitude journal has been running so long! I've done one off and on but it's been sitting to the side now for a while...
enjoyed hearing all about you. about me, I love the same things about blogging as you do, the eye candy and most of all blogs that include pets and animals. I love to read even more than blogging. I also like your line dancing reindeer today and I LOVE Remington..
You are just one beautiful person, all the way around. Sure, we all have our ups & downs ... today is my downer with a THUD! I'll pick myself up later today, shake off after I get over it & move along trying to make the best of it all. Ugh! Wellll, it may take a little longer than today.
You are such a gem every day, Sandie. TY
Have a beautiful day ~
TTFN~
Hugs,
Marydon
PS GIVEAWAY ends 12/9
Sandie, One thing you need to add about yourself is how generous you are in thought towards other people. You always have a kind word of encouragement or a funny take on things.
One thing about me....hmmm. My blog is kind of my gratitude journal - I try to focus on the positive in it and don't let the negative elements creep in too much. It keeps me centered and focused some days. Ann
This past weekend I went to an art class. The teacher, a world traveled artist, had for one of our projects to make a gratitude book inspired by the book "A Thousand Gifts". It is a beautiful book with places for us to write those things that bless us. Your journal reminds me of this.
Congratulations on your award!! You are so right about #5... you do make others laugh. That is why we need a daily dose of you. Laughter is healing.
you go, girlie! :)
MOONED! Oh my.. I didn't see THAT coming! ha! ha!... I have always kept a gratitude journal. I tend to pick it up and down in spurts, unfortunately, but I've always encouraged others to keep one too. I'm not sure anyone's heeded my advice, but it's done a world of good for me! It seemed almost as if it trained my mind to think positively and not negatively. Once I saw and felt it for myself, I've kept one ever since! ~tina
Nice to get to know you better!
LOL about being mooned Sandie! So cute! Congrats on the award. I love what you shared with us, especially about personal choice. That is a hard one some days, but it is so true. We do have the choice to act the way we do. Good reminder; I needed this today!
betty
Wow, when I tell people I believe life is about choices, I'm often stared at in disbelief. I'm told "I didn't choose to be poor/ill etc" My one friend, I've said "kill the cable, gym, newspaper and cell phones for 90 days, see how much more money you have" She tells me she can't...isn't that a choice? How fun to know someone else agrees with me that life is about making choices.
Hey Sandie, I closed my eyes. If I was mooned it doesn't count, right?
I like your meme list and am glad that you are a Christian. I'm with you in the talent area. I can't even sing good. (Been kicked out of a church choir because I had a 'bad ear'.)
..
I agree with you about choices, and I think even when it comes down to attitude, we have a choice. We can choose our happiness!
Great post Sandie and congratulations to the Award! :)
Have a great day my friend! Hugs x
Congraulations, Sandie! So glad you won this so I could learn more about YOU! :)
Hi Sandie....Hope you are having a whistful and worthwhile Wednesday----that's better than the same ol' "wonderful," don't you think?
You are terrific blogger who always makes people smile, including me! Susan
I've never been mooned by an elf before, thanks! I love how you live your faith out and I love how you choose to think good thoughts. These are my goals also. A gratitude journal is a great idea. I've done it before and I should do it again.
I don't know what I could tell you about me that you don't know. I am not talented.... in I can't sing, draw, paint. I am a good listener. I can sew a little. I love the lord!. Merry Christmas
You always make me smile, Sandie.
I was mooned once many, many years ago, so this brought back a very funny memory.
Have a blessed day!
No, I've never been mooned by an elf before either!! Actually, I have never been moved by anyone! I can see that I haven't lived. Lovely post, and you DO make us happy my friend. Hugs.
Your heart shows on your blog and that is why I return. I love that big ol' heart you have!
Congratulations on the award, you've turned it into something fun for us. We get to talk about ourselves!! I did pretty much know the things about you!! As for me, you know I am a Christian and a Mennonite. I also cannot dance, sing, or draw. What I can do is listen, sympathize, and help. Oh, and SHOP!!!! I can't get enough, and actually do quite a bit of shopping for others who are unable, from groceries to everything else.
getting to know you more & more...:)JP
Slick, Sandie...Really Slick...not picking the next tell all folks....just everybody!!! And here I am #27 smiling about getting MOONED...and at Christmas Time by an ELF no less. Now let's see what I can tell about me....mmmmm...I have been MOONED before! Yep, it was pretty funny then, too! Did you know Santa has a Tatoo on his Bum...It says HoHoHo!!!! Now that's funny!!!!
hooray for hump day and congrats on your award. You are most deserving :)
Awww, I couldn't have been mooned by a cuter little behind, teeheehee.
Sandie, you are so deserving of this award and I loved getting to know you a little more. I am a Christian that strives to get to know God more and more everyday. And just today, I mentioned to a co-worker friend, who is also a Christian that I would like to take some Theology courses. That would be fascinating!
Hugs, Sue
I love that you shared so much of yourself in this post. Today when we were talking I was so impressed by how long you have kept a Gratitude journal and I can see why and how it has changed your life. I am grateful to have you as a friend. hugs, Linda
Hi Sandie, Congrats on the award.. I used to participate in those things ---but don't anymore. I do love reading more about my blog friends though..
Yes, we Christians do have our up and down times. It's just normal... That's LIFE. BUT--we know that God is there with us even during the down times!!!! Yeah!
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Sandie, You wrote this so beautifully. I didn't do nearly as good a job, I just kept mine short...
Well done. xxx
20 years worth of Gratitude - it doesn't really surprise me that you do this. It's fantastic - just like you.
I especially LOVE happy, positive people (one of the reasons I married my dh 42 years ago!).
This was a fun little post due to the cute pictures you included. It all left me smiling.
I am intrigued by you keeping a gratitude journal. I think that is a good idea.
I also am a Christian. I truly don't know how I could have survived the past 18 months without the Lord. "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow."
Sandie,
You're the best and we all enjoy your blog!
Something about me...well let's see. I love fabric, buttons, black cats, corgis (of course), my dear friends, reading, traveling,
trees, the beach and all things to do with nature.
Congrats and Hugs!
Congratulations on your awsome award!
love

Congratulation on your award Sandie! You're so sweet and thoughtful. Hope you're having a wonderful week!
Congratulations on the award and in revealing some things about yourself. You've kept a gratitude journal for 20 years. Wow, that's an accomplishment in it's self. I have started a journal many times and it gets laid aside and lost. I'll have to try again your way, this time.
Congratulations on your award!!
Your blog is a chuckle inducer on the coldest day, and I'll bet you bring a lot of people out of their doldrums. Thanks for that.
Love your list. Something about me: I have served the Lord all my life. He is everything to me. Enjoy your day!
congrats on the award and it's rightly given....cause you totally shine Gayle....And one thing about me.....I'm thankful for hooking up with people like you...Oprah
Thank you for the Kuddos ...and I love coming to your blog..I find laughter is something that is rare today..I've been "mooned" ..too funny! Hugs from me to you from Arkansas...USA
Love your mooning elf.
I also liked your list and happen to agree with you right on down it. I haven't been acting much like a happy person lately. Thanks for the reminder that it's a choice.
Congratulations on your award! I also would give them away to recent followers. Now I just write the post and thank the giver! Fun way to learn more about your favorite blogger.
Congrats on your award.
Loved this Sandie! (also like the little mooning elf!) LOL!
I believe in choices and that gratitude changes lives... just like you do. ;) blessings ~ tanna
Hi Sandie! Congrats on the award! I almost missed this post. I loved reading the 7 things about you. I believe we can choose to be happy or to wallow in our unhappiness. I'm going to choose to be happy. Yes, we have down days and we struggle with things...we're human. But overall, I believe choosing to be content/happy is the way to be and that is possible through knowing Jesus.
Hugs, Cheryl
I love reading your blog and laughing with you and reading about your family, hmmmmm one thing to say about myself???? well I can juggle doing 10 things at once I crochet, read, craft, run to clubs and write a newsletter on top of blogging and selling on Ebay, but I most enjoy my quiet times visiting with my family and fur babies or watching an old movie on Sci-fi like giant spiders or alligators or ants[all the "B" grade ones]...I'm kind of dorky that way,
How I love your blog - even when I have to do a little bit of catching up!
Hmmm.
Something about me? I'm trying to think of something obscure that you don't know about me. How about this? Some dental weirdness:
I was born without one of my wisdom teeth, two others were impacted and had to be removed, and another one is embedded up in my head somewhere (I have the x-rays to prove it). When I got braces at age 14, I still had 10 baby teeth in my mouth. I have two small chips in my front teeth - both thanks to Marty the beagle jumping up to greet me while I was bending down to greet him!
Something I believe? That Jesus is the most amazing Person that ever existed. He was deeply intelligent, outrageously generous, sometimes witty and sometimes sarcastic (with the Pharisees), thoughtful and kind, capable of being infuriated by sin - my list could go on and on. He was not the meek and slightly feminine person that we so often picture in our minds.
I am reading a new book about Him - It's called "Outlaw" by John Eldredge.
Yes, the Jesus that I believe in, the Jesus that I love was a divine renegade, an outlaw who fought against every convention of the world.
THAT Jesus I can follow...
