Oh yeah don't forget the crackers!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
This weekend my grandson tested for his orange stripe for his second degree black-belt.
Then he had a sleep over! Grandma is tired this morning!
Plus every tree in Georgia is in bloom and the allergies are rampant - that adds to the tireness for me. I can't believe some people have snow.
We also had grandson fitted for a tux for an upcoming wedding - was he surprised he had to wear what they told him to wear.
Now tell me what you did over the weekend.
Don't forget to stretch your wings today. I'm going to stretch mine - right after a nap! lol

oooo....both recipes look yummy! I may use up some of my homemade wine in that sangria! Tell your grandson congrats on his testing....only a bit more till his 2nd degree black belt -- impressive!
when you make my cheese ball, please leave out the onions. yum and he looks adorable all dolled up. go take your nap now deal with the wings much later
OK your turn to have a party with this Sangria and cheese ball...yum! GS looks so cute! I did a little bit around the house this weekend but stayed in as much as possible. My allergies are blooming also! Hugs, Linda
I was a lazy bum and didn't do much, but I did make it to church!
I've got the allergy thing, too. I will save that sangria recipe for parties - sounds good!
How handsome your grandson is in that picture!
I'm not a sangria fan but I will pass the recipe on to my sis-in-law and offer to make the cheese ball when we get together.
I wrote a long rant today. I should probably go edit it but will move on to something else instead. Warm temps have caused everything in MI to start budding early. The trees are doing a number on my eyes, making them itch. It won't last long for me though, I do welcome the warm weather. :)
I do wish I could see the Georgia trees in bloom.
Thanks for sharing! Thank you so much for the positive thoughts while I was ill this past weekend! I appreciated it!
It rained all weekend here...We needed the rain and it does wash away some of those allergy problems you were talking about..
sounds like you had a FULL weekend..
Have a good day.
Does he get nervous before a belt test? The girly gets so nervous she has made herself sick before.
Hope the allergies are better today.
What a great weekend! I must say he does not look too happy in that tux, what a SWEET picture! Well, Friday we celebrated my birthday, and Sunday we went out to dinner with an old friend. It's over 70 here, and I hope you are taking allergy drugs, I take three!!
Your grandson sure does look sharp!
Haven't had a Sangria in years. Sounds tasty. I babysat my grandchildren. Then had to sleep. Wore me out too. LOL Take care.
Good recipes and such a handsome grandson all dressed up!
Take care of yourself, Sandie.
Your grandson is looking quite the young man about town!! I loved the quote about spreading your wings = this is so true. We had a glorious weekend weatherwise, so I spent quite a bit of time gardening and tidying up after the winter.
GS is so cute! Great job on the black belt. :)
The first recipe, uh no thank you. LOL
But, the cheese ball, oh yeah!!
Hi Sandie, Your grandson is such a handsome young man...Hope he continues to do well working toward his black belt....
Thanks for the recipes.. They both sound delicious.
We are home from our 2nd trip is a month--and both of us have colds.. Yuk! (Maybe we spread our wings too much... ha) Guess it will be REST for this upcoming week for both of us.
Hugs,
Betsy
GS looks like a boy who is uncomfortable, but cute at the same time. :)
Hope you enjoy your nap! Plenty of time to spread your wings later. I'm trying to spread mine. Thank you for always inspiring us. :)
Dear Sandie, great post and nice recipe's. Sangria is nice. I'm sorry I'm late [again] ended up playing with my brush and colors this evening lol! Great advice - I will try to be brave to spread my wings [hehe].
Have a lovely day my friend, and try to get some rest in between. Allergies doesn't sound so good.
Big hugs xx
Eva
I love the cheese ball recipe. Sounds really good! Congratulations to your grandson for his black belt testing. Our son should be testing in a few weeks for his black belt. It's a great sport. Went to my nephew's birthday party on Saturday and then yesterday did a lot of cooking and baking and then took Olivia to the airport for her flight back to Florida. Very nice weekend up here! Enjoy your Monday!
Very busy this weekend, Sandie -- lots of work outside on Saturday and taxes on Sunday. The weather is supposed to be in the 70s this week, so I'll be outdoors getting some yardwork done.
Have a great week and enjoy your naps. :)
Yum. Your recipes sounds yummy. Wishing your grandson the best of luck on his testing. My son used to love Karate. It's a great discipline.
Your grandson looks adorable in the tux, but not too happy! Allergies make me tired too.
my weekend flew by and i am having trouble remembering what i did ;)) i'm sure it was fun!!
i like the recipes you shared but i have outgrown cooking. i just don't love it anymore!!
i am so jealous that you have trees in bloom!!
I'll have some of the red wine sangria, it sounds good but please don't let me have more than two I really can't handle it...lol
I did very little over the weekend.
Well, I can't drink but I sure can eat and that cheese ball sounds yummy.
Your grandson looks like an adorable little man.
Your recipes sound like a great party:@)
GS sure looks dashing in his suit.
Hi Sandie,
My oldest son is in Karate too! I bet your grandson loves it. How adorable your grandson is in that tux.
xo,
Dee
Grandson looks so handsome. Love the recipes. Have a good day.
Awwwwww, Sandie. GS looks so darling but not thrilled with the tux. haha ha What a darling.
Loved the photos....looks like a reflection on ice.
Weekend? Well, most fun thing I did was go to a sugar house where they boil sap to make into maple syrup. Fun fun fun. Take care, Susan
I have made the cheese ball before but without the onions. I might add the onions the next time because I think it would be good that way.
Andy looks so cute in that tux! Whose getting married?
Hugs,
Angela
Hi Sandie,
I need to email you. Can you contact me please?
You mean Andy is in the wedding party? You'll have to get lots of pictures.
Everything has been bloomning here too. Earlier than usual. We have that green dust all over the cars. Actually, I haven't looked today, but the rain might have washed it away.
oh we want that cheese ball- right now!
love
tweedles
I do like Sangria in the summer, but we usually buy a already made bottle of this fine drink. We do doctor it up with tasty fruit but it really is not as good as the homemade kind. However, it is faster!
Congrats to your GS....the cheese ball sounds delish...Have a blessed day my friend....from Georgia ....Happy Tuesday
OK, I scrinched my shoulders when I got to the tux picture. That was too cute!
I think that's the first time I've ever seen GS not smiling!! Shows what happens when you put a boy into a *penguin suit*!!
Did he achieve the orange stripe?
And, the recipes sound delicious! My thought on the crackers?? After a few glasses of Sangria, who cares???
xo
Sorry about the allergies. Love your grandson in his tux! Sorry about the no sleep sleepover. Those two recipes sound wonderful.
Thank you.
