Monday - Barns in South Carolina

Okay more barns from out trip to South Carolina at 70 mph (and that was the speed limit). I think daughter did good considering that - you will have to imagine the top of the barn. (I am trying here. lol)
They had lots and lots of barns on the road here - and to tell you the truth - not much else.  We had to get gas - when we saw a gas station.

Now I read in a magazine (thanks Cheri) the following and thought it was kind of interesting:

Fresh fruit - optimism

Potatoes  - happiness

Tuna  - cuts irritability

Salsa  - reverses a gloomy mood

Vanilla - produces calm brain ways

Hot cider - erases worry

Popcorn  - raises gloomy spirit

If you have any of those maybe you can try it,  None of those can hurt you.

Thought for the day:

I do believe this - if you go around looking for YOUR peace in other people or in things - you'll never find it - I know - I tried to do that for a long time.  I was in pain a lot of years doing this.  Then I started listening to the Lord and he helped me to find peace right where I was.  Now sometimes I lose it - if my stress level gets high or I am around negative people.  I can fail just like anyone else.  What I have to do is pick myself up by my bootstraps and move forward with the Lord.  Sometimes I whine along the way too - because honestly - sometimes I don't like where I am at and I don't know where I am going.  But as long as I am with Him, I'm okay even when I don't think I'm okay.

Thank you Wendy!

Honestly, without my faith I would never be able to get through life. So interesting that different foods have different effects like that!

Thanks. I am going to have to see how many ways I can add vanilla to my food and drink or maybe just to my hot cider. :)

Oh yeah, I've got a 'thing' about old barns too! Love 'em.

About the vanilla producing calm brain waves: If it's in ice cream it produces such calm brain waves that I'm asleep on the couch in about 20 minutes!! Totally knocks me out. :-)

I am impressed, at 70mph, my pic would be a blur.

Love the barns. Now for some hot cider...

Your last paragraph I can totally relate to. I've learned to turn it over to the Lord - whatever the worry is - but I still can't stop worrying sometimes. Sometimes the answer does not come right away and I am trying to remember that.

The roadsides in our neck of the woods can be a little desolate too. That's why I had to create all kinds of crazy car games to play. I love looking at old barns.

And Sandie, I loved your concluding thought for the day. I think you are very right about it, too.

Ok well the popcorn sure did it for me last night on the couch watching TV, which I do not do a lot of. Thanks for that, I think that list makes a lot of sense. I will copy it.

Sure you can ride home with me, but I was not too sure you would like that lizard eating the leaves photo!

I enjoyed very much reading your lovely post.
Reading through your writing. I could relate to a time when i wondered who and where i was going, and if there was such a thing as peace.!
Oh how divine it was.. when i realised peace is from within. Its the most wonderful feeling ,and brings happiness.
We must have faith. Like you say, negativity is so not good. I cannot be around negative people.
I have become a follower ..I like the way you write and your blog is lovely.
Hope to see you my side.
