Monday - GOOD MORNING BLOG WORLD

The King of Choc'-n-Roll Cake
1/8th of cake: 215 calories, 6g fat, 345mg sodium, 39g carbs, 2g fiber, 20g sugars, 3.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 6*

Time to slice off a hunk, a hunk of burnin' cake! Actually, let's leave off the burning part -- we still think Elvis would approve of this PB-nana hit.
Ingredients:
Frosting
3/4 cup Cool Whip Free (thawed)
1/4 cup reduced-fat peanut butter, room temperature

Cake
Half of an 18.25-oz. box (about 1 3/4 cups) moist-style devil's food cake mix
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup club soda
1/2 cup mashed banana (about 1 very ripe medium banana)

Topping
1 medium banana, sliced
1 tbsp. mini chocolate chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" round cake pan with nonstick spray.

In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix frosting ingredients. Cover and refrigerate.

In a large bowl, stir cake mix with baking powder. Add remaining cake ingredients, and whisk until blended.

Pour batter into the cake pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, about 30 minutes. Once cool, transfer cake to a plate. Evenly spread with frosting. Top with banana slices and chocolate chips.

Slice, serve, and enjoy! (Refrigerate leftovers.)

Okay I love peanut butter and chocolate and I love peanut butter and bananas.  You know what famous person did too?  Answer below.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

"One has to choose in life." ~ Grace Kelly

That we do fortunately or unfortunately at times. Can you think of hard choices you've had to make?

(Sorry for the bad word - but I loved this.)

Forget the wheel, forget the telephone, forget the computer; the greatest invention ever was the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup - best when frozen. I want to leave this world with one (or two) in my hands.

I don't usually make cakes, but I will pass this one on to my son-in-law who does. Of course, I will find a way to be in his neighborhood when he bakes it.

The hardest part about this is sticking to the 1/8 th. I mean, who are we kidding? Love the combinations!

I love peanut butter and I like bananas, but I don't eat them together. I loved Elvis so if he had ever invited me to dine on a peanut butter and banana sandwich with him...I'd have managed to choke one down! Haha! Love the quote!
Enjoy your Monday!

Sounds delicious to me! Have you ever been to Frosty Frog Creamery in the Publix shopping center at Hickory Flat (Hwy. 140 & East Cherokee)? They make their own ice cream and often they have Elvis' sandwich ice cream! I can't have ice cream BUT it looks good. Next door to the Frog is Three Sisters Gifts - 3 of the nicest Christian women and a lovely place to buy gifts!

I don't think I've ever had peanut butter and banana together before. Not sure about that combo. It doesn't appeal to me for some reason! lol Kind of like how the yogurt with fruit looks good but I can't get myself to try it. I do like the fruit but not sure about the yogurt. It reminds me of cottage cheese and you can't pay me to eat that! lol
