Time to slice off a hunk, a hunk of burnin' cake! Actually, let's leave off the burning part -- we still think Elvis would approve of this PB-nana hit.
Ingredients:
Frosting 3/4 cup Cool Whip Free (thawed) 1/4 cup reduced-fat peanut butter, room temperature Cake Half of an 18.25-oz. box (about 1 3/4 cups) moist-style devil's food cake mix 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 cup club soda 1/2 cup mashed banana (about 1 very ripe medium banana) Topping 1 medium banana, sliced 1 tbsp. mini chocolate chips Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" round cake pan with nonstick spray. In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix frosting ingredients. Cover and refrigerate. In a large bowl, stir cake mix with baking powder. Add remaining cake ingredients, and whisk until blended. Pour batter into the cake pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, about 30 minutes. Once cool, transfer cake to a plate. Evenly spread with frosting. Top with banana slices and chocolate chips. Slice, serve, and enjoy! (Refrigerate leftovers.) MAKES 8 SERVINGS |

This is from Hungry Girl - - they have a lot of recipes that you can use with Weight Watchers. Okay I love peanut butter and chocolate and I love peanut butter and bananas. You know what famous person did too? Answer below. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: "One has to choose in life." ~ Grace Kelly That we do fortunately or unfortunately at times. Can you think of hard choices you've had to make?
(Sorry for the bad word - but I loved this.)
Okay who else loved bananas and peanut butter? Why Elvis of course. |

Hope you don't mind?
Awww what a nice Monday morning reading your blog. Wishing you a good day.
What time are you serving? ;)
Forget the wheel, forget the telephone, forget the computer; the greatest invention ever was the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup - best when frozen. I want to leave this world with one (or two) in my hands.
I don't usually make cakes, but I will pass this one on to my son-in-law who does. Of course, I will find a way to be in his neighborhood when he bakes it.
The hardest part about this is sticking to the 1/8 th. I mean, who are we kidding? Love the combinations!
Yummy. I don't think cool whip is available here in the UK though.
I like peanut butter and bananas, not necessarily together :)
I do like that quote indeed!
have a great Monday Sandie!
betty
Well how about that -- Elvis and I have something in common....
I'm coming over!!!! Your "Choc' and Roll" must be delicious!!!!!
That looks darn good! I shouldn't even think about it...
Love this cake, especially the part about only 215 calories, it's almost legal! Thanks Sandie!
Sounds tasty! Have a great week. We are off to IKEA today to just walk around and have fun.
Love,
Debby
Oh you have made me so hungry I just got in from throwing in a whole bucket load of wood.
Grace Kelly was very wise. Yummy off to eat. :) B
I love peanut butter and I like bananas, but I don't eat them together. I loved Elvis so if he had ever invited me to dine on a peanut butter and banana sandwich with him...I'd have managed to choke one down! Haha! Love the quote!
Enjoy your Monday!
Hi Sandie....Can I have a piece of that cake NOW? ha ha Hope you have a wonderful Monday. Susan
The cake looks and sounds yummy! I do enjoy a good peanut butter and banana sandwich. I may have one today. I try to eat a half of banana every morning. :)
Love,
sweetmarie
Yep! PB+B, YUM!
Hi Sandie. Waow! That cake looks seriously scrummy. I'll definitely be trying that one. What a brilliant quote, and your word goes in there so well., I love it. Do you mind if I borrow it to put on my facebook page? Hugs my friend.
That cake looks and sounds good!
I can eat peanuntbutter right out of the jar.
Oh Sandie,
You are NOT very nice...this was the first morning since the A to Z Challenge that I got up at 5:00 and did my walk and now I totally want to undue all that work for a piece of peanut butter pie...I LOVE peanut butter and chocolate too :)
The cake looks delish, but I loved the "how you dance" sign. So true...
Oh My...what a delicious way to start a Monday morning...I just may entice my Frank to go to the store for a few of the ingredients to make the cake...I will enlarge and show him the picture of the cake. That should work :)
You're killin' me! I've been trying to be good and avoid those dark chocolate mint M&Ms new to the vending machine. Gah!
Looks very yummy :) Love chocolate [tehee]
Yes, Elvis would have loved this! I love Hungry Girl and have their pink lunch tote which I use as a purse. I see they have a show on Food Network now, I saw it only once. I love that quote, it is so good I don't even mind the bad word!
I think...I would like that!!! LOL...Yummy!
I'll sens you an email, okay?
Kisses!
Isabel
Oh yummy, yummy, yummy! And low calorie too!!!!!!!!!!!
I love peanut butter and banana. These days, I use almond butter in place of the peanut butter.
The cake sounds wonderful!
Sounds delicious to me! Have you ever been to Frosty Frog Creamery in the Publix shopping center at Hickory Flat (Hwy. 140 & East Cherokee)? They make their own ice cream and often they have Elvis' sandwich ice cream! I can't have ice cream BUT it looks good. Next door to the Frog is Three Sisters Gifts - 3 of the nicest Christian women and a lovely place to buy gifts!
Oh I love chocolate and peanut butter! Hope your day was great!
I'll take a slice of that. On second thought make that 2 slices :)
Yummy!! :)
OK girl this looks pretty darn good!! YUM! Hugs, Linda
drooling!! always eat desert first!!
This sounds really yummy! I also love peanut butter and banana sandwiches like Elvis did ;)
You're making me hungry! I just had some popcorn, but it doesn't satisfy like chocolate.
What a nice and easy recipe! Chocolate is a definite cure all, I'm going to have to try this!! :)
Good thing I already ate my diet snack (boring popcorn)!
You had me at "peanut butter", Sandie! It's on my list :)
Sorry to be so delinquent. I'm paddling furiously (hee-hee)!
My favorite sandwich...PB and banana!
I'm pretty positive I would love this cake..
I just knew this post would make me hungry- and it did.

I don't think I've ever had peanut butter and banana together before. Not sure about that combo. It doesn't appeal to me for some reason! lol Kind of like how the yogurt with fruit looks good but I can't get myself to try it. I do like the fruit but not sure about the yogurt. It reminds me of cottage cheese and you can't pay me to eat that! lol
Sounds wonderful,I like the idea that you can make it somewhat healthy or at least WW approved. Thanks for the sweet comment about My grandson.I just can't get enough of Him.
Thanks for this wonderful recipie Sandi.
It will be on the menu for summer parties ..

val ..thanks for your comments.
Okay well, I'd have to leave the bananas out, but everything else sounds great!
