THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!
Good
afternoon my friends.
I guess I should start out by saying for anyone new - that a couple of weeks ago I brought my husband in and they found out he had bilateral (2 - one on each side of his head) subdural (not in the brain but between the brain and the skull) hemotomas (blood leaks).
Just got back from a long, but good day I think. I still don’t really understand, but hubs can go another two weeks without surgery. Then on the 30th we go back – he has another CT scan and they see if the hematomas are getting smaller – larger – or the same.

This
time
the hematomas – well they were the same size or a tiny bit smaller, but there
was no new blood. That was a good
thing.
He
said hubs could keep on checking the hematomas every
few weeks with a CT scan and that they would look at the progress – until – and that is the part I don’t
understand – if it gets worse operate – if it goes away do nothing – and I can’t
believe and daughter went with me – what
happens if it stays the same. It wasn’t
made clear. That is the confusing
part.
He
can’t lift or bend – and he legally can drive – because he did not have a
seizure – but he shouldn’t drive for various reasons – so no driving these two
weeks.
That
frustrates him – no driving – no flying airplanes – and it frustrates me – because I
get to do all the work around here!
With no end in site –
lol. I wanted to put him back to work! haha
So
good news of no impending surgery, but no ‘real’ answer but to
wait. So we are just in God’s waiting room with
lots of other people!
Thank
you God for today and this news.
GS tried out for a play at school - The book was called Number The Stars by Lois Lowry. He got the part of a Nazi soldier. It was about two girls - friends - one was Jewish and one was not. The whole thing in history is just something that has always hurt my soul. And after this play - now the students will never forget about what happened in history years ago. Which is a good thing.
Not all the kids got a part or participated in the play. After the play was over and the students went back in their rooms - the teacher's fast forwarded it 40 years and acted out what it would be like. Then the students who participated got pink cupcakes - it was in the book - and the kids who didn't didn't get one. And he did learn a lesson - if for just a moment - that when you work hard - there are special benefits!
Love,
Sandie

well, no new blood is good news! sorry you're still in a holding pattern, however. i know that will be frustrating to continue...
You and your husband are in my prayers Sandie.
x
I agree with TexWisGirl
No new blood is Good news. Praise the Lord.
Will continue to uphold him in prayer Sandy.
Love ya Girl.
Good for grandson!
That must be so frustrating with what is happening to your husband. I continue to pray!
Praying for continued good news. Good lesson for the kiddos. Is that a book by the way?
Oh, Sandie, that was GOOD news. Now, with lots of prayers continuing to come, we'll get through the next hurdle. I hope your hubs rests and feels GOOD. And don't you try to do too much in and around the house. If something gets done, it gets done. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Period. Okay? Take care Sandie, and thanks for the update. Susan
I can imagine your frustration. You want and expect answers from our medical professionals. But instead you get a waiting game. Frustrating. But no new blood is awesome. I continue to pray for you both.
How great to hear the good news. I will continue to keep your hubby and you in my prayers. I know it's not easy to wait. Hope he can keep up his spirits and find something worth while to do while he isn't allowed to do what he usually does.
I know from experience with my husband that waiting is very hard. I'm glad it was not bad news and hope good news follows. God bless.
Still praying for you both!
(((( Hugs ))))

I'm sorry to hear you are both going through this. But no new bleeding is definately good news. Still a big worry for you though.
It was definately a bad time in history and a good lesson for children to learn. Well done your grandson getting a part.
Take care!!
There is some good new there, but the waiting, no better place than in god's Waiting Room.
The play covers something that should NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! I fear many of our youth do not know, or pass it off as just a season.
BUT IT WAS LIVES AND IT WAS OUTRAGEOUSLY TERRIBLE!!!
Praying forthe hubby that he will be better and get to carry his share!!! LOL
Thankful for this bit of news. Continued prayers that it continues to heal!
Way to go for your Grandson! That is really super.
I'm thankful to the Lord for today's news and we will continue to pray for your husband. I greatly appreciate this update - have thought about you guys all during the day, today.
Great lesson for your grandson. I enjoyed the photos.
Hope you can all rest a little easier for now. Glad today is behind you.
I like the school pictures. The play is a good thing. Can you believe there are sill people who don't believe the Holocaust really happened? It is a good thing if Rick is the same. Maybe the whole thing is over and he is healing. You don't want unnecessary surgery.
I hope your hubby has even better news on his next exam, and that he is healing fully.
Interesting about the school play.
That is great news....no surgery....but the waiting....your husband will remain in our thoughts and prayers. Just keep making a list and when he is given the "all clear" you can give him LOTS to do -- ha ha! Take care, my friend! Cool school play!
I can relate to being in Gods waiting room...I will continue to keep praying you get some answers soon and hopefully no surgery. Did they ever say what may have caused the bleed? I also have to add I totally enjoyed your previous post's video. :)
Sandie, that is good news. I think the waiting is hard. Keeping all of you in my prayers. So glad your GS got to be in the play! Continue to have a good day and enjoy the rest of your week. Love, Debby
I think this news is definitely good, Sandie -- hoping that the hemos go down (obviously) and that he can return to his normal duties soon (so you can return to yours.)
Thinking of you...
Sounds good... (except your lack of help)...good for GS!!
I'm glad the news so far is good, but the waiting is awful. You are in my prayers. And thank you so much for your kind words on my blog, I'm so pleased I found your blog too! God bless.
Still praying for your husband, Sandie!
Yes, the holocaust was such a horrible thing, such a dark spot in history.
I like the cupcake idea. :)
Sandie so thankful for you great news! I know it's hard on Rick and YOU, lol, but I hope all will continue to improve. I'm at my Mom's and she is doing well but looks like I will be here for a month at least. hugs, LInda
Sandie
Glad to see you and hubs are hanging in there. There are sure a whole bunch of us in God's waiting room right now, aren't there? :)
Blessings to you and hubs.
So glad to hear you got some good news. I know it must be frustrating with the waiting though.
Well, like you say, good news but not too good. And yes, there are many others who are just in God’s waiting room. I hope that you have a front row pew.
I had to look up 'vivendo la vita dolce' which I found out means the sweet life. I.e, LIG (Life Is Good). I am glad, Sandie, that you can say that. Others in the waiting room may not see things like that.
..
Glad you had better news today with Rick. Still praying. :)
And just because he can't drive, lift, etc...doesn't mean he can't cook and make out the shopping list, plan the menu, etc. Put that man to work!! :P
Good for Andy!!!!
Waiting and holding is hard. I will keep praying. I am glad there was no new blood. Happy Hump Day.
No new blood is a good thing! I'm going to hope for its resorbtion and no surgery!! Sending you {big hugs} and more prayers! blessings ~ Tanna
Yes that waiting game can be frustrating. I remember when Mel had a stroke and I had to drive and do everything but he did get better and I hope your hubby does too.
No surgery is good news. But....the waiting to know -- has to be hard. Prayers still going up. Blessings...blessings...blessings
It is excellent that you didn't get bad news, even though the waiting has to be very frustrating for both of you.
Kudos to your grandson for both the participation in and learning from the play.
I'm sure things will be pretty stable again soon... just don't lose the faith and being humorous helps lessen the severity of the situation. God bless you and your husband Ms Sandie :)
Oh Sandie, I am sure that your husband will be OK. I have been going through this for over 11 years with my husband after a critical accident. There is so much that can be done, so be positive ( that's a given with you).
We have been thinking of your hubby every day.
I guess you have to believe what the "officials" tell you.
Its confusing to me too. And does not make sense.
Prayers will continue

Hello dear friend, You are doing well to write on here with all the rest you have on your plate. I pray your hubby gets well, what a hard time for both of you. Thank God you have the play with your grandson to take your mind off the rest.Much love CML xx
When I was your grandson's age, that was one of my favorite books. I actually bought a copy a few years ago, still enjoyed it as an adult. I always thought it would make a good play or movie, those teachers are smart!
I think it is great that hubby right now doesn't need surgery! Thank you God! We'll just continue to pray for his healing completely without surgery. And the rest might be good for him; a time of reflection, pondering. Don't stress to get things done, Sandie, let them go. Its kind of like a woman being on bed rest for pregnancy. Its a good thing he doesn't have to have surgery since you know surgery has risks of its own. I think it is good news. Maybe allow God and his body to heal itself.
How good for GS to be in the play; such a sad time indeed for our world during that time. I'm sure it was a good lesson for all to learn about that terrible time.
do try to relax too in the next two weeks
betty
Sandie, I'm very encouraged to read that there was no new blood and he doesn't need the surgery yet. We'll just have to keep right on praying as we wait the 30th.
It's so important that kids know about that period in our not so distant history.
People often wonder how a civilized culture could do something so horrible. Well, it started when folks stopped paying attention to truth and no one would speak up.
Waiting is so hard. Your faith is so strong. Praying these will shrink and he will be better soon.
I'm happy about the good news, but it must be a pain having to wait. Will continue praying for you all.
It was a good lesson for the kids to learn.
Have a great day!
Eva
Wow! That is scary. Good news that it is not instant surgery, but the waiting is hard. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers!! Sending hugs!!
WAITING is the most difficult part, I know. We are doing the same thing here. I agree with the others that no new blood is GOOD NEWS. But I understand your concern about the what if's??? "What happens if it stays the same." Prayers for you both. You have some heavy lifting to do until he's back on his feet. take care.PS) The school play taught some valuable lessons, indeed.
Hi, dear! Well, there are some good news...He might not need surgery at all. We pray to the hematomas disappear!
Love
Isabel /BlueShell
It's probably not a good idea to give your husband another whack while they are monitoring his progress so closely. You've waited this long--what's another few weeks before you finish him off?
Well it certainly is not bad news, just unsettling. I hope he is in no pain. With the luck you deserve, that nasty thing will just go away. It must happen or they wouldn't have you wait.
Will continue praying for complete recovery with no surgery.
Great news that he's not having to undergo surgery ... I'll keep praying that the hematomas will dissipate and that you both will have peace during this time of waiting.
I hope your husband continues to improve!
Good for your GS!!
Hi Sandie,
That's great news. I hope and pray your husband will not need surgery.
School plays are always fun!
xo,
Dee
That is great news that it might be getting smaller. I hope he continues to improve.
I pray you continue to hear good news. I think plays are great! Good for your grandson!
Love,
Marie
I would be really confused as well. I guess the good news is that they're not bleeding. How frustrating for all of you to be in this holding pattern. Congrats to your grandson and his play! A great way to remember a horrible time in history. My dad was in Germany during the war, they couldn't get out because my grandmother was not an American citizen and the stories my father told were pretty horrific. Hope your day is going well!
Everyone needs to be reminded that the holocaust really did happen.....the play sounds excellent.
Keeping your husband in my prayers for his perfect healing....and you for patience.
Hugs,
Sandie, this is such a hard time for you - I'm sorry. Saying prayers for you both and keeping all thoughts positive.
I'll be praying for him. I know the waiting must be difficult.
fantastic news about the play. i know it is hard to wait and wait. Snapper II, my friends husband had this and he did the same thing and waited and it did go away without surgery. i think his was about 6 weeks.
I'm glad to hear perhaps a mite smaller. Still praying for no surgery! You've got a lot on your hands, and I know it must be more difficult without the help.
Great news about GS. I'm a bit misunderstanding about the cupcake issue though (I understand being rewarded) because it seems like probably not all the kids could be in the play. LOL
Here's what I'm thinking...it won't stay the same if the bleeding has completely stopped. Given time it will be reabsorbed into the body. It sounds like it has stopped and now he just has to be careful until it heals over so it doesn't start again. I think things will be OK and no surgery will be needed. Of course, I've never graduated from medical school, but this is my gut feeling. Meanwhile, welcome to my world...the world of hurry up and and wait.
Sounds like the docs don't know much more than you and hubby do. I'm sending prayers!!
Continuing to pray for your hubby - and for you as you go through this time of waiting and wondering.
Sounds like Number the Stars was a good experience for GS.
God bless you, Sandie. I know it's tough not knowing the outcome. God is faithful.
hang in there....
Surely keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers...
blessings, Maureen
I pray that he continues to get better as each day approaches...my prayers are with you both. Sending you hugs across the miles.
Good news but having to wait would be very frustrating to me. But if it clears up on its own and no surgery that would be great news.
Hang in there!
Hi...
I just came to see if there were some news!
I assume things are quit the same...
have Faith and Trust Him...

Hi Sandie,
I let you know that I am praying for your dear husband, for his complete healings and prompt recovery on daily basis.
Please, let me know the UPDATES ON HIS HEALTH TO MY EMAIL...
I would like to know the updates. I pray to the Lord, Jesus Christ for your dear family, Sandie. In Jesus' most Holy Name, I pray for your dear husband healings.
God may bless you all, Sandie!!
Prayers on your way,
Poet Starry.(A Prayer Warrior too.)
Hi Sandie, I am behind AGAIN in comments after being gone on Wed. and Thurs...
Glad your hubby doesn't have to have surgery now (maybe never)... I know that being quiet and not doing the things you enjoy doing is hard --especially on men I think... BUT--I know it's hard on you too, Sandie.
SO--my love and prayers and with your hubby and with YOU.
God Bless You.
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh Sandie I am so sorry to hear this I do hope things continue in the holding pattern. I will say good prayers for you and your family.B
i'm so happy that your husband is doing well. we will continue to pray for him. have a wonderful weekend!
Don't be shy...ask questions until you fully understand. Drs and nurses are getting paid enough to answer your questions, so ASK!!
I think it's a nice lesson that you GS learned....work hard and there are special rewards. ALL kids need to learn that early on.
