Saturday Service Info

Remember last week we talked about grocery stores - do you think you would buy more with a basket or a cart?

 http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?post=poll_do_you_shop_with_a_basket_or_a_cart

This was sent to me from Vee  last week.

Okay - we all know we need to use sunscreen - right - but do you know the correct sunscreen and what it should or should not have in it?  I found this interesting.  I went to the site and tried to find one and I couldn't - if you know of a good one - let me know please.

You know how when you get flowers and after awhile they droop?  I have a remedy for you.  Put a penny in the bottom of the vase in the water.  It will keep the flowers from drooping.  Raindrops and Daisy's

Now my sister told me yesterday that if you lose your wallet or any form of ID - all you have to do is take it to the post office or put it in a post office box and they will send it to the person who lost it - just asking them for the postage.  Keep that in mind.

 SPEAKING OF DRIVER'S LICENSES ~
Check Your Driver's  License

I already removed mine. I suggest you all do the same. Now you can see anyone's Driver's License on the Internet, including your own!  I just searched for mine and there it was...picture and all!  Thanks              Homeland  Security! Go to the web site, and check it out.  It's unbelievable!! Just enter your name, city and state to see if yours is on file. After your license comes on the screen, click the box marked "Please Remove." This will remove it from public viewing, but not from law enforcement.  Please notify all your friends so they can protect themselves, too.   Believe me they will thank you for it.
Thank you Monica.

I thought maybe that's what I was going to get on the drivers license thing. Funny!

That was certainly informative about sunscreens. I've bookmarked that for more in-depth study.

I hate it when people monkey around with my personal data.

I get so little sun that I don't worry about sunscreen. And wasn't there a recording about "Sunscreen" a few years ago?

OK, time to go back to bed. I've dealt with the important things for the day.

Since I am so light skinned, I avoid the sun as long as I can. Hate getting burned, and hate something on my skin that makes me hotter!

Mevely317 said...

Glad I opened/read the "grocery" link ... if I'd had to guess, turns out I'd have been WRONG!

I try n' avoid direct sun as much as possible, but here in Arizona even a minute or two can make a difference.

Hugs,
Myra

The penny thing is strange, I wonder if it really works? Gads, now we need a reward for lugging a basket? If I start out with a basket, I soon chuck it and transfer everything to a cart, so I cab buy more.

Christine said...

Have a wonderful weekend Sandie!

Angela said...

I know I wouldn't buy as much if I shopped with a basket but then I would be going into the store 10 times that day or every day just to get the things that I need! The basket is fine if you are just getting 2 or 3 things but then it would be easier to just carry those items instead of using the basket! lol

I'll try the penny in the flowers.

I just bought Coppertone for babies in the spray and cream form that is very high in spf and all. I hope it works better than what ever it is that I've used in the past because I get burned to a crisp. I'm hoping they make it better for babies and so it will be good for me too!

Hugs,
Angela

I've seen my grand's tender skin burn with 50 and 75 sunblock. Not all are alike and most run off in the water. I wish I knew of the best one to try.

it is rain, rain and more rain!!!

I almost always get a cart even for an item or two. My camera is always in my purse and it makes it heavy, the cart holds my purse.

I use Neutrogena and Lancome sunscreens, those are the best I have found.

You got me on the driver's license! You bad girl.

Thistle Cove Farm said...

I always use a cart so I don't have to carry my suitcase of a purse. I go with a list, usually, and stick to it.

Ann said...

sorry, couldn't get me to bite on the license thing...lol

Paula said...

Oh yeah I fell for it and now that I think of it I think I fell for it once before. I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 30 just because my daughter does and she is so smart 'cause I raised her. lol

betty said...

I did remember about the driver's license before somewhere else so I didn't click on it this time, LOL :) That was interesting about the basket/cart at the grocery store. We tend to use both (but not at the same time) depending on whether it is just a few items or the weekly shopping. I'm rarely out in the sun these days, but I still need to remember to wear sunscreen; it is a great reminder to do so!

enjoy Sunday!

Hi Sandie...I'm going to remember about the penny next time I get tulips. They ALWAYS droop. Ha ha ha haha Got me on the driver's license. When I saw that monkey, I cracked up. LOVED that I weighed 120 pounds, though. That , in itself, was worth checking out. Susan

Hope your Sunday is a great one.

I'm blessed to know I have people in my life that truly love me.
I fell for the license thing! THH!
That was funny!
All my sunscreen has those two bad ingredients. I've disappointed to know that my doctors didn't steer me in the right direction for sunscreen with all my skin problems. Thank you for the info here! I'm going to loo into Neutrogena like one of the other bloggers mentioned.
