10 BRILLIANT USES FOR ICE CUBES

1.  Entertain a pet effortlessly - just put one on the floor during a hot day and let them swipe at it for fun and chase it (now Disco would just walk away and let it melt).

2.Easily water hanging plants.  Drop several ice cubes onto the soil daily.

3. Smooth out lumpy caulk lines - to make your touch-up job look professional - try this - after applying caulk run an ice cube along the lines.  The ice will glide over the tacky compound without sticking.

4.Keep a disposal smelling sweet.  Run a few ice cubes through the disposal once a week.  The ice will knock some debris off the blades to keep the appliance working and smelling like new.  (new???)

5.Save a scorched coffeepot - After the pot has cooled, fill it halfway with ice, ad 1/4 cup salt and swish around for 1 minute.  The abrasive combination of ice and salt will dislodge the stains.

6. Safely separate stuck glasses - place ice in the top and put the bottom one in warm water.

7. Erase carpet dents overnight - place an ice cube on each of the spots where the rug is dented and as the ice melts water will slowly sink into the carpet fibers and they will be fluffy by morning.

8. De-wrinkle delicate fabric - Run a little ice in a cloth over the material and then iron with warm.

9.  Prevent reheated rice from dying out - before you microwave add an ice cube and loosely cover with a lid before heating on high for 2 to 3 minutes.

10. Stop  lipstick from smudging - run an ice cube over your mouth right after applying your favorite shade.  It will set it!

AND ONE MORE THING - Want to cook corn and shuck it at the same time?
Thanks Monica at The Chicken Wrangler

We have all bought corn from a farmer or in the grocery with the husk and silk attached and realize we need to remove as cooking, right? Well this gentleman in this video will show us an easier and less time consuming method and all we need to remember is eight minutes!! This is really cool and I hope you too enjoy this video.

Thank you Kelly!

Love the ice cube tips -- our dogs do like to play with them. :)

I love the ice cube tips ... I already knew about #1 and #4 (although our dogs wouldn't play with the ice cubes ... they loved to eat them and always came over to the refrigerator when we were getting ice ... hoping that a cube or ten would fall on the floor for them to eat).

Like you pup, ours ignores ice cubes and instead goes for our food! Thanks for the helpful hints, though. Enjoy this hot weekend!

I have to say that last quote there is very true. I do keep getting those lessons to learn over again. Till I get them right they keep on repeating. There are days when I wonder if I'll ever learn the lesson. Hope your Saturday is a wonderful one!

A friend just told me about her success fixing corn this way.

About those raspberries, do you think they'd negate ice cream calories if I pile them up on a scoop of vanilla?

Here's my ice cube tip. If you have a teething baby, buy those Munchkin mesh feeders. Stick an ice cube in it for the baby to chew on. Works like a charm - when nothing else will soothe them this'll do the trick every time!

Some of them I knew, but some were new to me,like the lipstick one. I am forever needing lipstick. I think I talk it off.

And the corn thing works so well! We tried it, and that's our favorite way to cook it now, unless we have a crowd.
