Sunday's Gift to you.

Ever know someone or live with someone who is so big into pointing out what you do wrong and they can't even see for the log in their own eye?  Oh my....let's be accountable for ourselves.

I really loved Andy Griffin - I thought he was one of the good guys. And Ernest Borgine too.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

PS I have had some new people join me.  THANK YOU - but some of you I cannot find your blog - I don't know if you don't have a blog and are just commenting - or if the problem is mine.  Let me know.

Great thoughts to begin the Sabbath with! I too was saddened by the passing for Andy Griffith. I always loved his show with little Opie and Aunt Bea! Good childhood memories watching that as well as I Love Lucy and Leave It to Beaver! Have a blessed Sunday!

I recently saw a sign that said, "Don't judge someone just because they chose to sin different than you did." It has really stuck with me.

Yep, Andy was special and his shows are timeless.:-)

Thank you, Sandie. The thought for the day is one I need to be reminded of...too often, I'm afraid.

it is so easy to be critical - of others as well as of ourselves.

My motto is "live and let live". It's not my place to judge anyone; only the Lord knows what people are really going through. However, I feel we should listen closely to Him as to how we can help someone else.

Have a blessed day, Sandie. ((hugs))

the best for me is "Focus on the Good." I want to see the good...the awesome...the incredible in life, in people and even in me. Wishing you a beautiful Sonday out there.

I pray that a lot about the plank in my eye, that I will see that rather than the splinter in my neighbor's eye :)

I think all of us of a certain generation grew up with the Andy Griffith show; it was sad to hear of his passing; so many of them seem to be passing with frequency these days (I guess that's a sign we are getting old?)

I hope your day is a peaceful one Sandie!

Thank you for this thought provoking post! I need a reminder now and then. Everyone needs a reminder....we are not perfect! Thanks, Sandie. Happy Sunday to you!

Good message for Sunday, Sandie.... We do need to clean the food off of our own faces --before telling others about the food on theirs.... ha ha

Great thought: Focus on the Good... I try to do that --but the 'bad' sometimes tries to join in!!!!! ha

Have a fabulous Sunday... By the way, I do have some bloggers who comment but do not blog themselves.
Hugs,
Betsy

Focusing on the good in people is a whole lot better than looking for the bad all the time. A little praise helps so much. Our pastor said it's too bad that most of the news we hear is bad. It makes us think there isn't any good in the world, but there is a whole lot of good in it. Looking and seeing all that is good around is a wonderful thing. Hope your Sunday is a great one!

Thanks for the reminder to Focus On The Good.
No nit picking today!!

That is the best and most wonderful thing that we can do. Love and be happy.
We need to remind ourselves every day, that we are not perfect, no one is.
Very well written Sandie, "Take the wood out of our eye's before we judge another".. so many people are too quick in judging. Often judging without even knowing anything about that person.
Wishing you a blessed sunday.
god bless val

Don't you find that those who always criticize aren't happy with themselves?

Love the Andy/Barney cartoon. That is cute.

Now about those shoes you're wearing...you aren't really going out dressed like that, are you??

(Said in jest with reference to being critical...and a reminder to myself to get out of these slippers before I leave the house!)

I love the one about counting other peoples' sins doesn't make us a Saint. How true! Great post for us, as always. Focus on the good - that's another one that we should all try to take on board. Hugs to you from across the pond!

Funny how we tend to want others to get justice for their sins and we want mercy for ours.

Andy Griffith ..and all the other characters on that show. Loved them. They were so real.

This one ti too good!!!!:
counting someone else's sins does not make you a saint!! never read or heard it, man is that good!!!

I will miss Andy, just knowing he is not with anymore. I always liked him and his programs.
Take care.

I have found focusing on the bad takes more concentration, is a lot like work, and I am a lazy person.
Andy sure set the bar high. Today's shows don't come close.

Yes Andy Griffin and Ernest Borgine were a couple of great guys and they will be missed.......

As for knowing people who like to point out the faults of others oh how I do, sometimes I do wonder why they take such pleasure in making others feel so terrible.....

Unknown said...

my ex ron used to always tell me how i mes things up. i always try to keep a open mind. but pointing out peoples faults can really hurt them mentally and emotionly. this comes from a girl that did it too her.

Chatty,
So true, that counting other people's sins doesn't make you a saint. Shoot, I cannot even count my own accurately; that's why I decided to let God do the counting. :)

Happy Sunday evening. - Marsha
