Saturday - PHEW!

This has been a rough week!

Never ever give or let your dog eat CHOCOLATE!  NEVER (I feel like Taylor Swift here.) NEVER!

I had just bought some chocolate for making teachers gifts this Christmas.  Grandson had forgotten something at school.  So I went in the middle of putting up the groceries to bring it to him.

By the time I got home - Disco had half of my semi-sweet baker's chocolate eaten!!  He had had chocolate before so I wasn't terribly worried.

Daughter and grandson got home later and we discovered Disco's heart beat was fast.  Okay it was Halloween night - so they bought him along for a walk.  He threw up a few times, but he kept getting sicker and sicker so daughter and hubs took him to the Vet ER!  Well he had taken a lethal dose for his weight and had a 50/50 chance of surviving

Well praise God and prayer he is okay, but never ever let your dog have chocolate!  Ever!

Now I need some help about the google friends connect.

I have a couple new followers who have joined me that do not have the Goggle Friends Connect Button on their blog.  They followed me and when i asked how to follow them they told me through google reader.  But the google reader on my dashboard is full.  You can only have 300.

Do you know any other way to follow them back?  The follow button on top is not there anymore.

And another question – when you remove someone from your reader - do you remove yourself from their GFC or just from the reader?  I don’t want to lower their number of readers.

And is google + over your head?   I have people finding me and I have no idea how they found me. Why do they follow me there and not on my blog anymore?

I wonder if I am getting too old for all of this!

Okay want to know how old you'll live by Northwester Mutual Life?

Longevity Calculator

Watch your age in the upper      right corner! Kinda fun to watch your age go
up and down as you answer the      questions. It's interesting, so give it a
try.... How long will you live?

This is a calculator that estimates your lifeexpectancy. It was developed by Northwestern Mutual Life. It's interesting that there are only 13 questions, yet they can predict how long you're likely
to live.

Chatty is trying to grow with these blogs!

Don't forget to Fall Behind with your clock this weekend!

I am going to live to be 98 according to the calculator which is about exactly how long most of the women in my family live! The down side is the minds tend to go around 85! Yikes....that's a long life with no mind! Although my husband might very well say I lost that a while ago.

Your posts are always such fun!

So sorry to hear about Disco but glad he is okay now.

I wasn't even aware of the Google Friends Connect thing. I don't think I'm a stick in the mud about new things and actually enjoy learning new things, but Google, Blogger and Facebook have made many changes that I haven't found friendly or useful. I'm getting more like my hubby with his attitude of "if it isn't broke, don't try to fix it", mainly after having spent so much time and money in computer repairs last year.

first off, you may try following them invisibly...or at least try it? I did NOT know there was a limit to followers....chalk that up to news for me!!!

Love the jack-0 and turkey cartoon best. What a hoot.

ps....I got 89 for longevity. Not bad.

If you find out about Google Reader, let me know too! I don't know how to follow them. When I was growing up, our dog had puppies and was hungry and she ate a whole box of chocolates and both she and the puppies were okay - amazing! I noticed on the sign board at our vet that grapes and raisins are lethal to dogs too - I did not know that! I am so glad your dog is okay. I know how much we love our babies! Thank you for stopping by and entering my giveaway, Sandie!
Blessings.

Hi Sandie, So glad that Disco is okay... I'm sure that was scary for you...

I have Google+---but it's a whole different group of people from Blogger. Most of them just post things on Google+ --and I will comment there (if I comment at all). I truly don't care much for it --and don't really do much with it...

Taking someone out of your reader will 'unfollow' them. I don't know how you can keep up with over 300 blogs. I keep mine to about 100--and am constantly adding and deleting.... I only add people after they have come to my blog several times --and seem interested. I delete those who seldom visit my blog.

Hugs,
Betsy

I have over 1,300 people in my reader. I had to stop dashboard years ago. However I use google for everything, including my main internet page along with my email and I have a reader with it. It's the best thing ever. So in my reader I can just add someone's url if they don't have GFC. I won't do google+.

As you know I am so thankful for Gods protection with Disco.

My husband always says that I will outlive him! He says the stats are against him. According to the calculator,96 is my magic number. This will be my little secret! Thank you!

Oh my goodness! So glad to hear that Disco's OK. I did know this about chocolate. There's also some other stuff that's really, really dangerous for dogs. Funny how different their bodies are from ours.

As to the age calculator, I may give that a try. Do you think it goes to 200?

Hope all is well in your *neck of the woods*.

You are right. Never let your dog eat chocolate. Our pug got a hold of some with the help of one of our cats a few years ago...long story. She was literally sick as a dog for about a day and a half. Taught us a lesson that we actually already knew. But we didn't know we had a diabolical cat. Glad Disco is okay.
Yay! to falling back!
BTW, I did get my left knee replaced. I am doing well. I am finding that the anticipation is much worse than the reality, but isn't that the way it is in life for the most part??

So terrible about Disco - glad he's better, but still terrible for your pocket! Yikes - ER vet!! Grapes and onions are just as bad also!!

Wishing you a very happy November my friend!
May we all live long enough to get all the tasks we need to do done on Earth! :)

Okay, I am very confused with Google plus as well. I can't figure it out. I tried! And I'm confused with when people follow me there is no way for me to FIND them so I could follow them back! Sorry to hear about your dog. Glad he's okay!

Oh my, I'm so glad your dog is okay!!! I've always wondered about the chocolate and raisin thing with dogs..... now I know. Isn't it strange that we can eat chocolate or raisins and be fine and it can kill our dogs..... weird.
Thanks always for your sweet words and support!

I had heard that dogs should not eat chocolate, raisins and apple cores. I am sorry about Disco being so sick and am thankful he is better. How frightening.

I can't figure Google+ out either. I only know I sold most of all I have, perhaps my soul, to sign up for it.

That was necessary because I had used my 1G of photo space and either had to pay for more or else join Google+. I cannot see that it does anything for me except get more picture space.

I am glad for Disco. Our Katrin used to eat chocolate without it hurting her. I think her deceased mother gave it to her regularly.

I can't remember if it was last Christmas or the Christmas before, but my sister sent us some of that chocolate peppermint bark. I left it on the kitchen table and the dog climbed up and got it while we were out. Of course, she got sick and we spent some time at the emergency clinic, but her breath smelled great from all the peppermint. Chocolate is so bad for them, but they love it. I guess Disco has learned his/her lesson.

I'm so glad to hear that Disco is going to be alright! I've never had a dog to eat that much chocolate. The dogs I have now have never had any chocolate that I know of. I'm so glad he is alright!

I have no idea about any of the questions you asked for help for.

So glad to hear Disco is alright....chocolate in any form can be deadly to dogs....a lot of people think that's just a myth but it is not.....your very lucky he is okay...

I do know that chocolate is supposed to be very bad for dogs, so I'm glad that Disco is okay. Our little beagle was horribly sick from a virus about 3 years ago. She spent 2 nights at the animal ER ($$$), and, thankfully, she recovered, but I well know that agonizing feeling of your dear pooch being very ill.

Blessings,
Patti

One of my unruly dogs once ate a two pound bag of peanut M&Ms. Not a thing happened. This same dog also ate shoes, belts and once and entire birthday cake before the celebration.

Thanks for your kind words regarding my recent excitement.

If they don't have a google followers box, I will add them to Google Reader and tell them I've added them there. I hardly ever read blogs through that though. I usually just use my dashboard.

I am so glad Disco was okay. I guess for such a small dog, it doesn't take much chocolate to cause sickness!

Hi Sandie....

What exactly is Google Friends Connect?

And just to show you my ignorance, what are Circles?

Oh Sandie, wish I were more in tune with technology.

Hope your weekend is good. Glad Disco is on-the-mend. Susan

So glad Disco survived his Halloween binge. Rather scary.

I've been told that my email is not connected to Blogger, but I can't figure it out. I do get comments on my blog sent to my email, so I'm not sure what I need to do. I am getting too old for all of the changes. Lol.

That's so scary about Disco and the chocolate! I'm glad it is Ok now. I'll pass that word along.

And I have absolutely no way of helping with GFC or any of it. I am grumbly about changes that I don't understand. Maybe I'm really too stupid to be a blogger.

I do NOT like Google +. If I get a reply from someone new, I like to return the favor and visit her blog ... but if she uses Google +, clicking on her name takes me to her Google + profile, not her blogger profile. And I cannot find her blog. :-(

I got 96 for longevity.

My grand-puppy got into a whole bunch of Hershey's kisses. We were frantic, knowing that dogs shouldn't have chocolate. My daughter called her vet, who assured her that their dog would be ok. It's baking chocolate that is harmful to dogs. I didn't know that. So glad that Disco is ok. Our dogs got into ibuprofen 6 years ago ... that meant a trip to the doggy ER and some pretty hefty bills to get them through (we almost lost the golden retriever). Why do dogs have to get into things they shouldn't? ;-)

I am so glad Disco made it over the lethal dose of chocolate. Ugh, they do love it.
