This is very cool.  It is amazing what can be done on the computer these days.

See your house in a snow globe.  Open the website below, put in your address and click on “Shake.”

Thank you Susan at Writing Straight From the Heart.

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

One of my most favorite writer's in my life is - C.S. Lewis - and he said that.  And I believe what he says - in fact I'm banking my whole life on that.

Love the quote, and oh, I'm banking on it too, as my 50th birthday approaches closer and closer. I think I hated my 40th, but while I STILL don't LOVE the idea of entering my fifties, I've at least progressed to mixed feelings now! (0; Have a great day! ((hugs)) ~tina

The decorations and the horse are neat, Sandie.

I like C.S. Lewis but haven't read nearly enough of his books. Have you read the Screwtape Letters? It is one you can pick up whenever you want a pick-me-up little lecture.

I like the snow globe with the donation to help the homeless. I too agree with what C.S. Lewis said. I don't think we can even imagine the things God has ahead of us in heaven (and for the rest of our lives) but it is always good if he is in control!

Might be the only snow we see in that snow globe! I might have to try that. :)

I loved all of it, Sandy, and I totally agree with CS Leiws.

Years ago, when I was young and homesick, I was praying and telling the Lord (like Dorothy), "I want to go home, God, I want to go home." We were away from our families, and I missed them terribly. Then, very quietly, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said, "Home is not behind, Sheila, home is ahead!" I will never forget that moment. It made me more determined than ever to "press on toward the prize in Christ Jesus" as Paul says. I might have mentioned this to you already, but that quote really drove this home again.

XO,

Sheila

Loved scrolling through several of your posts--I am SO BEHIND on getting around to others' blogs these days. I always appreciate your "visits" and your nice comments. Mickie :)

I first saw the snowglobe on facebook last week. It was so much fun to play. I wondered if the picture would change this time. Nope. But it was fun again, nevertheless.

I really like C.S. Lewis, too, and that is a great reminder. I hope to try to snow globe thing. Don't know if Google Earth has been out so far this way, though :)

I hope to get a chance to have Robert send you an email with the vid he made to show at our church for Christmas. He would have to send it from the church's high speed internet, though. I'll try to email you about it soon.

Oh Sandie, I just love the snowglobe effect!

Without fail, each November I grow wistful remembering the carefree, simpler holidays of my youth. So yes, it was THAT address I entered.... and smiled recalling “the house that built me.” :)
