I know some of you own GUNS but this is something to think about...
If you don't have a gun, here's a more humane way to wreck someone's evil plans for you. Did you know this? I didn't. I never really thought of it before. I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat.
Wasp Spray - A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.
The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use.
On the heels of a break in and beating that left an elderly woman in Toledo dead, self defense experts have a tip that could save your life.
Val Glinka teaches self-defense to students at Sylvania Southview High School For decades, he's suggested putting a can of wasp and hornet spray near your door or bed.
Glinka says, "This is better than anything I can teach them."
Glinka considers it inexpensive, easy to find, and more effective than mace or pepper spray. The cans typically shoot 20 to 30 feet; so if someone tries to break into your home, Glinka says "spray the culprit in the eyes". It's a tip he's given to students for decades.
It's also one he wants everyone to hear If you're looking for protection, Glinka says look to the spray. "That's going to give you a chance to call the police; maybe get out." Maybe even save a life.
Please share this with all the people who are precious to your life
Did you also know that wasp spray will kill a snake? And a mouse! It will! Good to know, huh? It will also kill a wasp!!!
Thank you Monica
Thank you Sharon
Love this Japanese Doctor!
Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Fruit very good. Brandy distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Grain good too. Bottom up!
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have body and you have fat, your ratio one to one. If you have two body, your ratio two to one.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...good!
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetable be bad?
Q : Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Oh no! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only be doing sit-up if you want bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me.
Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is shape!
Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.
And remember:
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Good Morning! Thanks for starting my day off with giggles!
I've always thought I'd use anything I could spray...hairspray, Pam, anything aersol to ward off an intruder. We women always have to be thinking!
I'm with Jill. Any of the cleaning sprays could get someone off guard. It's sad to have to think this way, but a little can of hair spray could be a great defense. Enjoy your Saturday!
... even a snake? This reminded me of the time (handyman) hubby encountered 2 baby rattlers while working at a client's home and without thinking, just emptied an aerosol can of oven cleaner on those suckers. Goodbye snakes. (Me, I'd have probably had a coronary on the spot - lol.)
Love that final cartoon. So true!
Since I'm terrified of guns, the wasp spray idea is right up my alley! Thank you! Enjoyed the Caturday morning funnies. You are too cute!
I'm going to get some wasp spray and keep it handy. I love Maxine and thank you for sharing her today. I borrowed them for a St. Pat's post later on. Hope you have a super Saturday!
Love this! Cute tips from the Chinese Doctor:) I think he is my hero! Have a blessed weekend dear friend, HUGS!
DH went to Bass pro shop and bought me a can of bear spray to ward off any intruders. Love knowing about wasp spray and snakes 'cause we've had a few around here. Thanks. And thanks for the smiles and the snowmen yesterday. :-)
I'm very anti guns so the wasp spray sounds excellent to me. Thank you.
The doctor made me laugh and he does have some good points. I've seen many of my friends taking up sport to keep fit and ending with bad injuries and health issues!
You never disappoint, my friend! Thank you for another wonderful post!
I like the idea of the wasp spray; I think its something I could manage to do if faced in such a situation. Lets hope none of us are faced in situations like that!
Maxine is hilarious!
I loved the lady in the wheelchair what she saw in the shadow.
may it be a good day Sandie!
betty
Thanks for the FYI. I have used Wasp Spray years ago for Wasp nests. That can sprays quite a distance.
I did not know that it could kill a snake.
Good Post
cute. cute. cute!!! ( :
Good morning to you. Great tips as always. thanks for sharing...also your cute cartoons.
Great post ! I have heard this before about wasp spray and I do keep a can of it handy.
Love the St Patrick's cartoons!
hugs, Linda
LOVE the doctors advice about taking a nap to live longer. I think I'll start now LOL
I love the last funny
it is so so true!
Have a great weekend Sandie and I hope that the month of March will be a good one for you.

hold the line for the bathroom. oops. gotta go...
Great idea about the wasp spray! Have a great Saturday!
Hello, Interesting about the wasp spray.. I'd never heard of that.. Thanks!
Funny about the Japanese doctor's answers... Cute.
Enjoy your weekend. We have some snow here.
Hugs,
Betsy
Happy Saturday Sandie !! i love the cat picture i think ill take his advise lol
Thanks for the good info. They recommend that you bring wasp spray when you hike as well. While I would hate to spray a wild animal, should a mountain lion or a bear decide to attack, I guess it would be a good thing to have.
My Mom lives alone and has several small pistols in drawers. She and Dad would go to the rifle/shooting range to shoot- BUT, she also has a can of wasp spray next to her chair in the TV room and a can next to her bed! I have a can next to my bed!! They are cheap at Home Depot!!
What a neat entry. Love the read. I did throw my green tea thru my nose at the "ARE YOU BRINGING YOU NOISE MAKERS or getting a sitter!"
Good laugh at the doctors's advice.
Love & HUGS from here...
I am still having second thought about Wasp spray.
Your doctor is very interesting. He has some valid points too, specially about round being a shape.

That's a great idea on the wasp spray. Hope your enjoying your weekend.
I've read the one on the wasp spray before, that's a good idea.
I like the doctor's answers to those questions. I wonder if he's accepting new patients.....lol
I would never have a gun, but I've always got wasp spray because I'm terrified of bees and wasps.
We have wasp spray.....I never thought of using it for intruders......i do have a gun.......my husband says I wouldn't hit anyone but maybe scare them.....I'm a bad shot. :)
Laughed so hard at the doctor's advice.
I have never thought about that but it is a great idea!! I will have to get some and have it in the house but away from the kids!! Love the picture of the lady in the wheelchair, how true that is.
Diana
I've read about the wasp spray before but didn't know it could kill a snake. I would want to make sure I wasn't too close. Don't give up the baseball bat though. It is good to break out a window in case of fire,
Wasp spray Does spray a long way...we had to use some to get to the peak of the cabin once...so, yes, it reaches distance More than 30 ft.
And what a great doctor. I need to introduce him to my surgeon>LOLOL
BlessYa
Wasp spray is a good deterrent. LOVE the good doctor too. made me smile.
Sandie~I can't thank you enough for the much needed laughter!! We've had a loooong week and needed a good laugh. I shared the doctors health tips with hubs.. We enjoyed every word!
looks like we'll be pickin' up some wasp spray on our next trip to Home Depot.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
Great idea with the hornet spray. My problem is.... if someone would break in and I was half asleep, I would probably point the wrong end at myself!!
I have heard about the wasp spray. I'll buy an extra can or two to place around the house. :) I hope people only kill poisonous snakes. Did you know that having female Black Racers in your yard will keep the poisonous snakes away? We have seen a few around here and we leave them alone. :)
Happy weekend Sandie!
Wow, wasp spray. Isn't it shocking to think you even need to defend yourself..The world used to be nicer.
That Japanese doctors has it right. My mother never exercised and is almost 95yrs. Her sister died at 86yrs and walked all the time.. So, we can never tell.. Hugs and love sent. xx
Happy Satur-Unday! As I am a little late and reading this on Sunday ^_^. Now, that was a great thing and seems to be very effective too.
I loved the Caturday picture ^_^ Meowwww
Hope you have a nice and relaxing Sunday!
Your blog makes me smile; it is areal pick-me-up. Love the lod lady in the wheel chair. Have a blessed Sunday.
Well wasp spray is one thing we always have on hand.
I keep it on hand but I hope I never need to use it- on a wasp, snake, mouse or man!!!
Gosh ~ a one fix item that gets rid of all the 'nasties'! Fantastic! ;)
Hope you are having a good weekend friend!
xo Catherine

yet another great stuff.
thank you, sandie!
hope you're enjoying your weekend!:)
Love that last one!
Thanks for the wasp spray tip.
I also love that doctor. Mine gave up on me a long time ago.
Wish I knew wasp spray killed snakes. We get snakes sneaking into the garage and I have to wait till the men get home to remove them. I have a terrible fear of them.
I loved that chocolate is a vegetable. Now I can get more vegetables in my diet. Ha ha!!
Well, you've done it again! You have me laughing and telling my hubby to go to your blog and read your post today! I like the doctor's advice best and the very last photo of how we perceive ourselves! Sweet hugs my friend and thanks for being so much fun!
So true! I like that last cartoon:0)
Also I can't believe the River picture WOW!
Very fun blog. Thanks for finding me. I am about to follow you:0)
I laughed and laughed about the diet and exercise. So I guess it is okay that I was a couch potato today while I nursed a cold.
The last picture is so true. I am always in shock when I see a picture of myself because I definitely have a different image of myself.
I love that last photo. That's a great tip for the wasp spray! never would have thought about that! Thanks for your comments on my blog!
I have read about the hornet spray before, and I keep forgetting to send a big old can to my daughter. I think it would be a great idea for her.
I need one here, too. We're not gun owners (Not because we have a problem with guns. We just have never gotten around to owning one.)
Chatty, those were great! Thanks. Hey, of course I had to prompt my husband. If I don't I get a Walmart Gift Card. ya.
Excellent stuff, Chatty!
I gave you a Shout-Out on my blog today. :)
I really enjoyed this! That Japanese doctor is a hoot! I like his philosophy! Do you think he might accompany me on my next check-up??
And the advice on wasp spray is great. Wish I had had it when I actually got stung by a wasp (are hornets wasps??). Question - will wasp spray work on annoying people, too??
I loved the last cartoon - the old lady with the ballerina. I always hope that my heart will stay young...
xo
What a great idea.
I read what Jill wrote. I was told to buy a small can of hair spray for your purse and then use if necessary.
One never knows.
I think the only thing that would come here, would be a sheep or a fox.. i'm in the middle of nowhere..but best to be prepared.
I have wasp spray.
Sandie, you always write such great posts.
this is 'smashing'.. the Japanese dr.. ha ha.

wow, great post....and love the tip about wasp spray! Thank you...
How about wasp spray...spray him first..... then use a non washable spray paint so if he gets away they can find him easily....I can relate t the kitty....
What a hoot! The Japanese Doc is a riot! LOVE the badge of the sweet lady in the wheelchair seeing herself as the ballerina. So touching. I've not been checking in lately, and have missed some good stuff!
