Health and NuNaturals

Something I am sharing from Blondee's Diary - with her permission.

"Going grain and sugar free last summer was a big change. One of the hardest things to give up was Mrs. Field's cookie cups when we went to the mall. I finally came up with a substitute that I think not only compares, but surpasses the originals! I made these for the girly's birthday party this year, they were a huge hit."

Ingredients
2 sticks softened butter
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar free vanilla whey powder (I use Biochem brand)
2 cups blanched almond flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1 bag Hershey's sugar free chocolate chips
1/2 cup Truvia (do not use the baking blend)
Preheat oven to 325. In a large bowl, cream butter, Truvia and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, incorporate each one completely. Add almond flour, baking powder and protein powder all at once. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon dough into a greased muffin pan, pressing down on each slightly. I fill them 3/4 of the way full. Bake in 325 oven for 12-14 minutes or until they turn golden brown on top. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely in pan. (This allows them to firm up.) To remove from pan, gently turn each cookie cup to loosen, then invert pan.
Frosting
1 stick softened butter
1 brick softened cream cheese
1/4 c. Truvia
1 tsp vanilla
food colorings of your choice
Cream butter, cream cheese, Truvia, vanilla and coloring together. Place in piping bag and swirl on each cookie cup. Refrigerate to store.

Of course I will be using NuNaturals - not truvia!!! lol

Those look GREAT!! I don't make myself many baked treat any longer. I usually just grab a fruit of some sort to satisfy my sugar craving... but when I do have that craving, it is NuNaturals I use.

I recently downloaded Jack Darnell's new book to my Kindle Fire. It tooks seconds to do.

I'm a Vegan so for the most part, there is only fruit and veggies on my diet. No meat, no dairy. I hated it at first but I feel so much better without all the toxins.

Don't get me wrong, I have cheated once or twice and didn't like the way I felt afterwards. Your body gets used to being healthy by not eating fat and sugar.

Sounds like my diet--flour free and sugar free. I do try but it's very difficult--especially living in a convent of 5 or 6 people where we take turns cooking. Plus sometimes the craving for something sweet is overwhelming!

Thanks for the recipe. I would also use the NuNaturals. I will be able to make this recipe for my grandson he is not able to eat wheat so we always substitute almond flour.

Well those cupcakes sure look good. I don't know if I could ever go sugar free though. I'm like the mouse and use chocolate mouth wash

Susan said...

Did I already ask for you to put my name in the hat?

If not, Sandie, please.

I guess I would use NuNaturals to try and cut down , or out, on sugar.

Take care.

Loved all the good information in your post today. Especially the one about happy people. Susan

I have been toying with going gluten and sugar free for awhile now to see how it improves my help. What would I do if I won? Well, I'd have to make those cupcakes, of course and kick off my new lifestyle with a bang!
Love the ways listed how positive people act and react. I strive for that, but often fail. But I keep trying! Ann

Yes, please, Miss Chatty, please enter me in your give -away. I have been kind of out of things... and haven't been paying attention but I know we would use it. You see, Jim has diabetes. His family all have it. We are very careful and are always tying to follow the best medical advice that we can. We use Splenda now. But he really does not like it. I would like to try this NuNaturals. I did not hear where it can be purchased. Did you mention that? This is interesting, Miss Chatty. It is always good to hear of something new. Thank you.

Susannah

Pinning that recipe. I'll probably go to the original source since that's what "they" say I ought to do. If I can't locate it, I'll copy from here.
