GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO YOU!
One thing I did was change the coconut oil contest from picking today to picking on Wednesday and I'll tell you on Thursday who the winner is and run my last contest that I have going.
Did you get your taxes in? They are due in today!!!
We rented Life of Pi this weekend - which I thought was good, but not great. To me something was missing - what did you think?
I also got an IPhone 4 - for free from Sprint - I was panicked at first, but feel much better now and the booster they sent works great.
Enjoy - read what interests you and forget the rest.
OKAY DOES ANYONE LIKE PEANUT BUTTER?
I love peanut butter and here are some recipes I found:

This method for cooking loads of corn on the cob perfectly. Thanks Jerry-asthecrackerheadcrumbles
I was hipped to it while visiting my family in Maine.
I was hipped to it while visiting my family in Maine.
Short story: We like corn on the cob. And with eight adults at the table, that means a couple of dozen ears. We would have used the lobster pot to cook them all, but the lobster pot was busy steaming lobster.
Then my sister, a capable Maine cook with years of camping experience, says, "Let's do cooler corn!"
Before I can ask, "What the hell is cooler corn?" a Coleman cooler appears from the garage, is wiped clean, then filled with the shucked ears.
Next, two kettles-full of boiling water are poured over the corn and the top closed.
Then nothing.
When we sat down to dinner 30 minutes later and opened it, the corn was perfectly cooked.
Then nothing.
When we sat down to dinner 30 minutes later and opened it, the corn was perfectly cooked.
My mind was blown.
And I'm told that the corn will remain at the perfect level of *doneness* for a couple of hours.
Turns out, Cooler Corn is pretty well known among the outdoorsy set.
Turns out, Cooler Corn is pretty well known among the outdoorsy set.
But for those of us who avoid tents as much as possible, it's perfect for large barbecues and way less of mess than grilling.
I know we will all be eating lots of corn soon!
In the future,
when the 'net' is a bit slow... think of this ... watch to the end
!! THIS WILL S H O C K you!!!!!!!!!

A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience with a raised glass of water. Everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, 'half empty or half full?'... She fooled them all .... "How heavy is this glass of water?" she inquired with a smile.
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. To 20 oz.
She replied , "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it.
"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
"If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She continued, "and that's the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."
As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden - holding stress longer and better each time practiced.
So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down.
Don't carry them through the evening and into the night... Pick them up tomorrow.
1 * Accept the fact that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue!
2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
4 * Drive carefully... It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.
5 * If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
8 * Never buy a car you can't push.
9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
10 **** Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
[dedicated to all shag snobs!]
11 * Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.
13 * When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
14 **** Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
16 * ***Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.
17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
19 * Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
20 *Save the earth..... It's the only planet with chocolate!*
Thank you Jean!

Cooler corn? Sounds YUMMY and I will definitely try this one for a huge dinner this Summer:) Love all of the knowledge I get from you dear friend! Have a blessed day and new week, HUGS!
Cooler corn...clearly I live in the wrong state...never heard of it.
Cooler corn sounds like a good idea but I dont' like corn too well done. I would leave in no more than 3 minutes...nice and crunchy.
I saw Life of Pi in the theater and really enjoyed it! What a great story. I enjoyed the metaphorical nature. Also, I need to upgrade to the iPhone 4 since I still have the 3 :)
Sandie, I had never ever heard of cooler corn! What a fantastic idea. :-)
Happy Monday to you Sandie!! We have sunshine and it is going up to 66 degrees today. Happy me!
Ive heard about that corn cooking before and plan on trying it this summer. Great thoughtful tips and loved the bunny ears picture. That would make a great family picture for next Easter, I will have to keep that in mind :-)
Have a wonderful day!!
Diana
All I can think about is wouldn't the boiling water harm the cooler? It sounds like a great way to handle the masses. Will have to come back to slowly digest all of this great post. Can't wait to enjoy each segment. Kids may say the darnedest things, but so does Chatty Crone:)
Glad to hear your phone problems have been worked out. I'm so hungry now for corn on the cob...but it will be quite a while before we have some fresh corn here. Maybe corn from down south will be in the stores soon. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!
Loving that cooler corn idea!! Thanks!
Also thanks for the recipes link!
hughugs
The the cooler corn. I didn't know this either. Awesome.
Yes the taxes have been done for about two weeks and were sent in last week along with our checks. Bugger.
I loved the Internet video. That's an awful lot of travel for taking only about a second. Amazing.
Have a fabulous day. :)
I read the book life of pi but haven't seen the movie.
cooler corn is just plain cool!
'be vague'. ha ha ha.
I love catfish, now I don't know if I will be eating it.
Our taxes have been done. We like to do them early. Cooler corn? I have got to try it. Happy Monday!!
Good Monday Morning to you, Sandie!!
Your Monday Morning post was good too!!!
I like the idea of 'cooler corn' but I suppose a few coolers have cracked with the hot water. I don't eat corn anymore, doc's orders upon getting old.
Your list is good. Right now I am the statue with a neighbor. I've loaned three people $50 (one more, he came in the late night hours, we still see him now and then) and your are right. One of those was a preacher.
..
wow, you have so much in this post I learn so much from you!! You also make me smile and make me think more, the cooler corn sounds great butvmy only concern is, the plastic of the cooler may notbe meant for heating and chemicals may leach out, we had a neighbor who became ill from heating foods in a margerine dish, I'm a little nervous now, it recked my friends liver!
Hi Sandie, I'm back!!!! Missed me??? ha ha ... Hope you have had a great week.
I love peanut butter anyway I can get it.... YUM...
Cooler Corn???? Crazy --but if it works, that is terrific...
I love the last piece about laying down your burdens.. AWESOME advice.
Hugs,
Betsy
LOVE corn on the cob!
Great idea on the cooler corn! I can't wait to try that this summer. My hefty IRS check is in the mail. Ugh!
Happy Monday !!!!
Hi Sandie. You posted lots of interesting things here. I can hardly wait to make cooler corn. I love corn and can't think of an easier way to make it, especially with the weather warming up. My son will love this idea. You also listed some great food for thought here, much of what I'll be passing on to others. Take care. Have an awesome day.
LOVE the cooler corn.
always so much information Sandie!!
My favorite is catfish - but only "real" catfish, caught from a local river. So I rarely get to eat it.
Life of Pi- A LOT of symbolism. The only way he could live was to use the animals for the people. The island was also symbolical and not real---too deep!
LOVE candy corn on the cob - sooo sweet. Great idea for cooking a batch of it at one time!
Have a great week! xoxo
Many things here so I have bookmarked it to keep track. iphone for you? wow. I was going to get one, but it was too little. It was smaller than my old droid so I am very happy with this GS III.
The planet Geezer was a bit creepy, ya?
I had a dream about you last night along with 2 other blog buds. I am posting about it tomorrow, so heads up, girlfriend! hahahahaha.
I LOVED ‘Life of PI’….I found it to be a spiritual journey. I can’t wait to watch it a second time.
I am so in need of laying some of my burdens down! :)
hugs, Linda
Love that first picture.
I have never heard of cooler corn, I hope I can remember to try it some day.
Always so fun and educational to stop by here, Sandie. I had seen that corn/cooler trick before and I am amazed. I love the "burden" story and think I will be a pigeon today in prep for the week ahead. Ann
My mom cooked the best horn pout ever. Those are little cat fish up here in the northeast. My dad could skin them faster than anyone ever seen. My mom, she flowered them and salt and peppered them an into the criscoed cast iron skillet they went. I havent had them in years and you made me think of them. Oh yummmm... No one fishes in my family so this is a treat I probably wont have again. DANG!!! Didnt watch the cat fish do hickey as I could not ruin this wonderful memory, lol....
Cooler corn looks neat. I just wish it wasn't in plastic. I would be leary about that. Too bad the coolers aren't stainless steel. ;-)
And yuk to those nasty fish. Buy your fish from the South instead.
Big hugs,
Sheila
P.S. We also watched "Life of Pi" and loved it!
So much terrific stuff in One Post - Thank you.
I'll remember cooler corn - Now, All I need is a large gathering.
The information about the Internet - really IS Mind Boggling.
I wouldn't read the Book OR See the movie Life of PI -
love & love,

Hi Sandie...
Great post! Loved the idea for cooler corn! Susan
I saw the life of PI. I agree it was o.k. I won't watch it a second time like other movies.
Watching the catfish video, made me appreciate this country even more.
That cooler/corn idea is a great one for big parties! Never heard of it before:@)
Can you imagine...the internet...who thought that up:)>>>>
The cooler corn sounds so easy that even I could make it. And the internet video was very interesting. It just amazes me how it works.
Thanks for the fun info.
I LOVE peanut butter. I'm quite confidant that I could live on peanut butter alone...lol
I loved Life of Pi. I bought it and Mark loved it to. Have to say it was amazing on the big screen. Have a wonderful week.
I've never heard of cooler corn, but I'm game.
And you're right, birthdays are good because they do mean you've lived one more year. :)
Happy Monday!
I went over to the peanut butter site and, would you believe, I got quite distracted reading all about peanut butter. The bunny pic is cute. And the cooler corn is cool. I would have thought at boiling water would damage the inside of a cooler. Who knew??
I am excited to try cooler corn!! This so cool!! I haven't seen Life Of Pi-it was a great story but maybe not a great movie-Love that you have a iphone4-that is what I have and now I am addicted to it!
Thank you for the uplift-I needed it!
Hugs!
Jemma
To smooch a monkey!!! hahaha
Love the idea of the cooler corn.
The fish thing worries me a lot.
Good read fun informative and just good to come by.
Take care ((HUGS))
You have a good eye for finding the strange, funny ,and unusual...I will pass the cooler corn recipe over to my son-n law who fishes and camps. Not sure he will believe me. LOL
Your posts are always just full of interesting information!! I've seen the corn hint before, but had forgotten about it. Great idea!!
Such a great post today! Loved hearing your report on the cooler corn because I have seen it so much! Yes, we got our taxes in. Here in PA you have to pay on top of everything else, a one percent tax on your total income. Crazy! And I still can't figure it out. Hope you had a nice day!
We will definitely be trying the cooler corn...yum! Great post!
hugs!
Marie
I love that cooler corn sounds yummy! I wish the snow would leave and Spring would appear.
Cooler corn is NOT a good idea as ice coolers are made of plastic, which can leak potentially dangerous chemicals when hot. Just like you would not microwave in a plastic container (unless marked microwave safe), you should not use an ice chest which has been built specifically for ice.
