Tuesdays Information from me to you...

Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you'll never make it!!!
If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with ... enough force to remove some your extremities. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well.

Don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc.

Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap. A little Drano. A little water. A small piece of foil.
Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!

No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.
Thank you Susan From Writing From the Heart.

Tagging a Gun Owner's Vehicle

If you own a gun and therefore go to gun ranges or gun shops, you might want to read the attached and keep this in mind…..and share the word with your friends/family.

TAGGING GUN OWNERS VEHICLES PSA WARNING
Gun lovers public service announcement: While I was in a Texas gun store today, my car was tagged on the wheel in the parking lot. The gangs do this on wheels or bumpers at gun stores, shooting ranges, gun shows etc. Later when you are parked at a restaurant, hotel, or other location that’s less well guarded or under video surveillance, other gang members spot the marker and break into the car for a quick gun grab. This is so RAMPANT in San Antonio where we were for a National shoot this summer, the Sheriff of Bexar County came out to brief the 400 participants of our competition. Too bad three teams had already been victimized the first day. This is the first I’ve heard of this in Texas.

Please pass this info along to your 2nd amendment list. Daily check your car, truck or motor home for unusual painted dots, marks, check marks or other strange looking symbols that are not normal to your type vehicle. It could prevent you from being a victim of robbery, or even save your life if you catch the thief in the act.

This next comment from a Gun Site instructor:

I don’t know how widespread this is becoming, but the info regarding the NSCA Nationals in San Antonio is correct, as all of us who compete in sporting clays know. Competitors there were having their vehicles marked with a small adhesive dot on the rear license plate or rear bumper, then followed for miles and having their vehicles quickly and efficiently broken in to when parked for lunch etc.

Some crews were working the parking lot at the Nationals itself. 27 high end shotguns were taken there recently. They know when 1400 shooters with high $ competition guns are in town.

BTW I shot with a young man who was trying out a new gun at the Nationals. He and his father lost all their guns and equipment while making a quick stop for lunch at a BBQ place in Corpus Christi the month before.

Thank you Sharon.

wow, thats some disturbing info, this world just keeps getting more violent, what the heck is going on with us that our children would become so evil,
I'm glad you hada few chuckles at the end of this post, it helps to make the medicine go down ( the bad news bits),

And why is it that people think criminals can't get guns??? If guns are taken from law-abiding citizens, criminals are the only ones who WILL have guns.

Young people don't have enough work to do. Maybe if they were employed they wouldn't be out creating these bombs. Too bad the administration doesn't worry more about job creation instead of creating takers and users.

Some of this I had heard and some of it I haven't. Good info to know though. Really like some of the McGyver tips. We use the over the door organizer on vacations. When there are 4 of us in 1 room, it really helps with the bathroom essentials.

Love the cat comic! Makes me laugh.

i love the cat cartoon - that is too hilarious!! ( :

as for putting anything in the mailbox you are immediately committing a FEDERAL CRIME ... & in big trouble. never understand why folks do that. you hit a mail box, take mail, hit the mailbox with a base ball bat ... whatever it may be - in other words DON'T do it!!! a big no, no!!! ) :

It is really disturbing to hear about the horrible things people can think up to do to other people. Thanks for the info.

Scary for sure. But you can never be too careful in this day and age.

What are we becoming as a nation? This is sad all around. If one of my kids did this type of thing they wouldn't be able to sit down for a week. Parents...teach your children to be civil and respectful.

As for the gun thieves? They found a way to make money off those that work hard. Plain and simple.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. ☺

The Lift. That is just what i need to have read today Sandie,

Living in Europe , i am sure that you are aware, that we have totally different views on gun laws that America have.
If we were even found with a gun in our car it would be jail.
Anyway.. politics...Its just so sad what is happenening.

I'm sure the recipe for those bottle bombs can be found elsewhere on the internet, but it is disturbing to see it shared.

I think tagging homes or cars of gun owners is a good thing. More likely to keep the criminals away. They are more likely to take a chance where they know there is NOT a gun than where they know there is one.

Ugh to the car markings, and double ugh to the drano combo in bottles. Both are so ridiculous.

My husband always says if people would put as much effort into positive things as they do stupid ones, the world would be a much better place. I agree.

I had to google the plastic bottle thing and its true. So sad what our world is coming to. Thank you for the heads up.

I'm hoping the bottle trick doesn't catch on here in the UK. Or it may have done and I just haven't seen it. Fortunately we don't have mailboxes here either.

Wow, very interesting and troubling too - except the last thing which is too funny. Enjoy your week!

I have heard of this draino thing and it's horrible...I just don't know what some kids are thinking....

I didn't know about the cars being marked at guy stores but then I don't often frequent a gun store.....not one of my regular shopping stops.....

The kiddie is cute....Simon got a laugh out of that one...

Paula said...

We watch the news from San Antonio every day and must have missed this. I need to pass this on to my daughters as they are both into guns now. Thanks. The Drano thing is certainly scary too. So far we've only had beer bottles in our yard.

I hope you don't mind if I copy and paste that plastic bottle info and send it to my hubby. He's ALWAYS picking up trash.

You wouldn't believe what I found in my yard a couple of weeks ago. I went out after dark and used a stick to throw it back over the fence.

Last weekend, in Nanaimo, a 70 year old man picked up a bottle that was on his driveway and it exploded in his hands, seriously injuring his face and hands. We haven't yet heard what the bottle was, but it sounds suspiciously like it might have been what you've described.
